The book is composed of seven chapters. First of them (Graphomania and Graphomanologies) introduces theoretical issues, terms and determinants of the studied phenomena as well as the most prominent research opinions in the field. It also relates to the strategies and attitudes adopted towards graphomania by writers themselves. The second essay (Phenomenon of Graphomania That is The Third Libel on Hermenegilda Kociubińska) presents the authors’s view on the identity of graphomania, taking into account both the criteria of the literary subject’s predispositions and the text indicators. The major theme of the next chapter (Old Authors on Graphomania) centred around the views formulated by early modern Polish writers on graphomaniacs and clumsy poetry by them, in the context of the ancient tradition and opinions expressed by European men of letters. Thus, on the basis of selected literary quotations, the criteria that old writers considered the most typical of graphomania have been examined as well as the most popular, parodistic means used to discredit graphomaniac activity. The fourth chapter examines the peculiarities of Internet graphomania from the perspective of digital authorship, literary communities and the „new genres”. The conclusion is that, contrary to what one might expect, the Internet does not seem to be a friendly medium for the fulfillment of the graphomaniac passion and dreams. Chapter five (Graphomania as a Figure of Exclusion) takes a pragmatic point of view and deals with graphomania as an instrument of social stigma. The subject matter is exclusion based on the standards of the discursive community that uses this labeling tools like, for example, the notions of the sane vs the insane; the talented vs the untalenteds, professionals vs amateurs; experts vs laymen; the elite vs plebeians, etc. Chapter six (Apocrypha Attributed to Miłosz) takes into consideration two poems falsely attributed to the Nobel Prize winner Czesław Miłosz. Both of them were used in a political game during the communism era in Poland, either against the authorities or against Miłosz himself. This and some other examples are a starting point for the reflection on the study of the determinants of the contemporary apocryphal literary practice. The last study (The 20th-Century Panegyric Situation) examines the specifity of Polish panegyric poetry under authoritarian (1920s and 30s) and totalitarian (1945–1956) regimes. Accordingly, the series of works dedicated to Marshall Józef Piłsudski and President Bolesław Bierut are compiled in search of differences and commnon places on the basis of theoretically systematised determines.

Zagwarantowanie bezpieczeństwa publicznego obywateli należy do podstawowych zadań policji. Z bezpieczeństwem publicznym nierozerwalnie związane jest poczucie bezpieczeństwa, które ma istotny wpływ na jego postrzeganie, ocenę oraz odczuwanie braku zagrożeń. Niniejsza praca zawiera szczegółową analizę poziomu i poczucia stanu bezpieczeństwa wśród mieszkańców oraz turystów województwa zachodniopomorskiego. Punktem wyjścia do tej analizy było dokonanie oceny stanu bezpieczeństwa w świetle działalności zachodniopomorskiej policji. W ramach procesu badawczego przeprowadzono i przeanalizowano kilka tysięcy ankiet dotyczących poczucia bezpieczeństwa, zaś wyniki tej analizy posłużyły próbie odnalezienia zależności pomiędzy poczuciem bezpieczeństwa i stanem bezpieczeństwa wyrażonym w liczbach popełnionych przestępstw. Otrzymane dane porównano także z danymi statystycznymi policji, aby ustalić, czy istnieje korelacja pomiędzy liczbą oraz rodzajem przestępstw odnotowanych przez zachodniopomorską policję, działaniami policji a poczuciem bezpieczeństwa mieszkańców województwa. W ramach niniejszego opracowania udało się także zbudować innowacyjną konstrukcję mierników bezpieczeństwa, odnoszących się zarówno do poziomu, jak i poczucia bezpieczeństwa mieszkańców poszczególnych powiatów województwa zachodniopomorskiego. Mierniki te pozwoliły określić siłę i kierunek zależności pomiędzy poziomem bezpieczeństwa a poczuciem bezpieczeństwa mieszkańców regionu zachodniopomorskiego. Wyniki przeprowadzonych badań oraz niniejsza praca mogą zdecydowanie posłużyć poprawie poziomu i stanu poczucia bezpieczeństwa w województwie zachodniopomorskim. Definiowanie kierunków współpracy czy ocena dotychczasowego wizerunku policji stanowi podłoże do budowania wzajemnego zaufania i chęci współpracy społeczeństwa z policją. Dlatego tak istotną rolę odgrywa realizacja przemyślanej strategii działania policji. Zrozumienie oczekiwań i potrzeb mieszkańców ma kluczowe znaczenie w budowaniu prawidłowych relacji społeczeństwa z policją i policji ze społeczeństwem.

The subject of the following dissertation is the functioning of non-public primary schools in Szczecin in years 1989–2014. This study is a part of the history of education and it poses as historical and pedagogical monograph. The dissertation consists of five chapters, table of contents, introduction, summary, bibliography, list of charts and diagrams. In order to conduct the research, the historical methods were used with all the procedural stages. A considerable contribution to the research had the direct resources stored in archives of the West Pomeranian Board of Education and in the Department of Education in the City Hall of Szczecin. The collections of indirect resources such as daily press, educational magazines, students press, jubilee books, schools’ chronicles were also researched. To present the state educational policy, the resources have been enlarged by normative acts found in Official Journals of the Ministry of Education and Journals of Laws in 1989–2014. The interviews with the heads of the researched schools, with the initiator of the idea of non-public schools in Szczecin, with the staff from the West Pomeranian Board of Education and from the Department of Education in the City Hall of Szczecin, and the teaching staff of the many non-public primary schools in Szczecin gave the significant contribution to the research as well. Taking under consideration all the collected and analyzed historical resources, the next five chapters were written. The first chapter presents non-public schools in Poland in the context of social, political, cultural and economic changes between 1989–2014. The developmental factors of non-public primary schooling in Szczecin in the given period of time is outlined. The second chapter includes organizational processes of non-public primary schooling in Szczecin in the given period of time, the non-public primary schools’ network, schools’ facilities, sources of funding, heads of schools and the teaching staff of non-public primary schools in the given period of time. This chapter presents teachers’ cooperation in schools and the quantitative cross-section of the number of students in non-public primary schools in Szczecin in years 1989–2014. The third chapter is devoted to the didactic functioning of the researched schools, in particular to the curriculum framework, implementation of national curriculum, the description of practical teaching methods and studying the students’ achievements. The fourth chapter presents behavioural and caring functioning of the researched schools in years 1989–2014. In this chapter the behavioural programmes and the caring and prevention programmes in non-public primary schools in Szczecin are discussed. The last chapter includes the study of cooperation between non-public primary schools in Szczecin and the local community. The monograph deals with the issue of youth volunteering in a public high school. In the literature, although much has been written about volunteering, there is little research on school volunteering, especially its educational significance. It seems legitimate to study the attitudes of teachers and young people already on the threshold of adulthood toward volunteering. In Poland, participation in volunteering is at a low level. Therefore, it seems important to activate young people and strengthen pro-social attitudes in them. One of the benefits of such activity is the formation of social, civic and educational competencies of youth in action. The present study is an attempt at both theoretical considerations on the issue of volunteering, as well as a study of volunteering in general high schools in Szczecin. This monograph wanted to show that volunteering can support education, through learning in its various aspects, enhancing individual, social and professional development. Volunteering is a form of non-formal and lifelong education. Thus, an attempt was made to study volunteering in high schools. This issue seems extremely relevant, important, timely and worthy of in-depth analysis and reflection.

Out of nearly 8 billion people, more than 1 billion experience some kind of disability. On average, one in four citizens in the European Union is a person with a disability. And this trend will increase due to the growing proportion of older people in the general population. Tourism has taken an important place in the lives of people with disabilities. It is not only a source of entertainment and relaxation but also of rehabilitation in its broadest sense. It has therapeutic qualities, allowing people to rebuild their faith in their own strengths, accept their limitations and improve their mental health. Travelling and active leisure have become a specific stimulus supporting the recovery process and sometimes shortening its duration. Therefore, it is important to adapt the environment to the needs and requirements of people with disabilities. This article attempts to identify barriers and solutions supporting tourists with disabilities and analyze accessibility of tourist base in Szczecin on selected examples. Suggestions for actions aimed at maximizing facilities and minimizing or eliminating existing limitations are also given.
