Antioxidants have been considered a potential component that can enhance functions of food since these agents have pharmacological activities for multiple chronic disorders such as cancer, diabetes cardiovascular diseases, and age-related diseases. However, due to their low solubility, unstable during processing or storage, and chemical degradation, antioxidants have a limitation on bioavailability when applied in food products. Nanocarriers may assist in delivery of these components without changing good therapeutic properties by their unique physicochemical characteristic, structural characteristics and biological compatibility. Recently, lipid-based and polysaccharides-based nanocarriers have been explored as promising delivery systems of antioxidants by oral route. Positive results obtained across these nano-deliveries could give us new spreading methods for implication of antioxidants in therapeutic functions of foods.

Electronic is a significant device in our daily life. To ensure its good performance, the temperature of chips must not exceed 80°C. For a long time, Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) has been a powerful tool to analyze fluid flow, heat exchangers, and other equipment that have been applied widely in industry. In this paper, the authors designed the electronic enclosure and used CFD Autodesk to analyze its thermal performance. The three types of electronic enclosures are a/ the enclosure without any ventilation slot; b/ the enclosure with both ventilation slots on the top and the bottom of it; c/ the enclosure with both ventilation slots on the left and right of it. The 2 same power small chips and the large chip whose power were 0.5W and 2W, respectively, were used as the heat source. Moreover, the effect of the radiation heat transfer of the surface enclosure was also analyzed. The result shows that the enclosure which has both ventilation slots on the top and bottom has more efficiency than others. Also, the radiation heat transfer plays a vital role in enclosure cooling without the fan. For that reason, covering the white coating with emissivity e=0.9 or the black coating with emissivity e=0.98 is an excellent way to decline the temperature of the enclosure by radiation heat transfer.

With the advancement of science and technology, the use of rooftop space or roof to create a “rooftop garden”/“rooftop garden” or “green roof” has been trendy and is being encouraged in recent years in modern cities. Currently, the use of roof/terrace garden solutions is considered the optimal solution to adapt to the climate change in HCMC. Although there have been many studies on the topic of rooftop gardens, there has not been a single study giving actual survey data on the benefits that rooftop gardening solutions bring to Ho Chi Minh City. In this study, the author goes into depth analysis of the benefits and technical solutions of building roof gardens in Ho Chi Minh City today to adapt to climate change, through the survey and actual measurement. They are the premise for making recommendations and proposing the proper use of the roof. Research methods are implemented: Field survey method, opinion interview method, document analysis to get all important and valuable information with high reliability, as well as collecting the most accurate documents for the research. Research results show the application of the “roof garden” model in architectural works is necessary because it brings many practical benefits to individuals and communities. With the wish of having a green city in the future for Vietnam, it requires the attention of the government and people in the city.

Power efficiency and responsible electricity usage are the topmost global concern nowadays, as significant electricity resources are mostly non-renewable. In industries, power factor correction dramatically reduces system power losses, increases the load carrying capabilities, maintains an efficient electrical system, and more. Power factor (PF) measures an electrical system’s power efficiency and is an essential aspect in improving the quality of supply. In terms of induction motors, the power factor drastically changes as the motor changes load; therefore, automatic power factor correction deals the most significant part in maintaining the efficiency of the power supplied to the machine. The study aims to build an Automatic Power Factor Correction (APFC) Unit with embedded Internet of Things (IoT)-Based energy consumption monitoring system that will automatically improve the system’s power factor. An open-source energy monitoring library was implemented to design accurate power calculations to display the system’s voltage, current, power, power factor, energy consumption, and frequency. Through a wireless sensor network, the real-time data reading from the IoT-Based energy monitoring system can be accessed and obtained from the IoT-Based web server through the Blynk IoT platform. Energy measurement and monitoring are done in the sensor microcontroller unit (MCU). The data is then calculated and transmitted to the capacitor bank MCU that handles the switching of relays to the capacitor bank to compensate for the system’s lagging power factor. The result shows that APFC provides the ease of monitoring more efficiently and can be achieved due to reduced power losses and reduced electric consumption.

Thermal power plants (TPPs) can produce and supply electricity to power system as a main power source but power generation fuel cost of the TPPs is very expensive. So, the target of minimizing the cost is considered as a main duty in power system operation. This is called economic load dispatch (ELD) problem. In this paper, a novel algorithm, tunicate swarm algorithm (TSA), is applied for solving the ELD problem. The applied TSA is implemented for test systems with different numbers of units and different constraints such as power balance constraints, prohibited operating zones, power losses and power output limits of generators. The first test system is comprised of 6 units considering power balance constraints, power output limits, prohibited working zones and power losses while the second test system consists of 20 units taking into account the power balance constraints, power output limits and power losses. TSA is compared to a high number of previous methods in terms of the cost and TSA is concluded to be a powerful method since it can find less or equal cost with other compared methods.

The earth getting warmer, habitat is destroyed, synthetic dyes impact on the environment and human health, animal skin and hair are used to create expensive fashionable clothes. Vegan leather is a new invention for the manifesto on sustainable fashion; it was created by reproducing leftovers or growing biological cells. This article towards environmental awareness of human, the fashion industry needs to follow sustainable humanitarian values, through biotechnology not only creates eco-friendly materials but also minimizes negative impacts on the planet. The study is conducted using data collection, analysis and synthesis of previous studies from reports by the international organizations, animal protection and the environment websites, international scientific publications including the results of research on the properties of vegan materials. The results of the study show that the main raw materials come from agricultural waste sources, each type of vegan leather has its own properties, but there is a general property of most vegan leathers is highly bio-degradable. There are two groups of artificial skins, faux leather and vegan leather to replace animal skins, each with advantages and disadvantages. Thereby, the research article discusses in three issues: firstly, vegan fashion not only protects animal rights, but also shows ethic responsibility; secondly, it cannot be concluded that vegan leather can replace real leather because the production process has many waste problems; thirdly, fashion brands have join hands to improve environmental and social responsibility towards sustainable values. The paper concludes that the process of research and development of alternative materials is underway very actively; it expands the sense and responsibility of the fashion industry in protecting the global ecosystem.

Tomato is a nutritious fruit, grown in Vietnam for more than 100 years, and has high export value. Classification of tomatoes after harvest is still manual by workers. This paper will be applied the innovative method to design a classifier based on color. From the main function of classifying tomatoes, there are 4 sub-functions to be decomposed: feeding, transporting, processing, classifying. Each sub-function will be subdivided into more specific functions that make up the functional map. Many ideas will be given by brainstorming and creativity method for each sub-function. After that, a selection matrix will be used to select and decide the design ideas. The final results of the paper are dynamic diagrams and structural drawings of the equipment that have been designed for future manufacturing.

In the Coronavirus pandemic, many unexpected factors appear in nature that causes inflexible technological construction systems to fail in many hospital projects. Even many newly-built hospital projects have not taken into account the destruction of the structural system’s health when the hospital architectural solution evolves due to the demands of sustainability. Based on the results identified by many pieces of research on hospital-acquired infections in the Coronavirus pandemic, this paper reviews the rising demand for appropriate solutions of sustainable construction systems containing essential characteristics to facilitate the flexibility and adaptability of hospital architecture to confront unexpected infectious diseases as pandemics are not playing out in the same way every time. Comparison analysis will be carried out to outline the opportunities for structural systems in the hospital construction industry with respect to environmental sustainability. For the prevention of hospital-acquired infections, the architecture of healthcare facility designs has to be able to improve functional spaces and medical technical systems. These lead to a demand for changes to the recent structure diagram and load-bearing capacity. This research in pursuit of structural system health preservation have shown that a steel structural system with lightweight and long-span frames provides environmentally responsible solutions in hospital design that are long-lasting, highly flexible, and reusable
