Advanced Design and Manufacturing of Microwave Components Based on Shape Optimization and Ceramic Stereolithography Process 基于形状优化和陶瓷立体光刻工艺的微波元件先进设计与制造

A design technique based on a shape optimization strategy (topology gradient algorithm) and a 3D ceramic stereolithography process are described in this paper. Our goals are to propose innovative components in terms of electric performances and topologies, by using these two approaches together. Several components have been designed, manufactured and tested with success. An example is given for the design of microwave filters including dielectric resonators.

Contrast on Performances of Different Planar Pattern RFIC Spiral Inductors with Equal Perimeter 等周长不同平面图样RFIC螺旋电感的性能对比

Based on the typical model of spiral inductor on silicon(SIOS) for RF integrated circuit(RFIC), the inductors circuit parameters for different hollow planar structures with the same inner radius such as quadrilateral, octagonal and circular have been simulated and computed by using the Ansoft software HFSS. Numerical results are well coincident with those from theoretical analysis. Compared with those of the quadrilateral and octagonal ones with the same inner radius and equal perimeter, the maximum quality factor Q of the circular spiral inductor increases by 0.78 and 0.67 times, at the frequency corresponding to the maximum quality factor L of the circular spiral inductor increases by 31% and 11%, respectively, and the resonance frequency fRS of the circular spiral inductor decreases by 9.3% and 6.8%, respectively.

Recent Progress in Miniature Microwave Filters 微型微波滤波器的研究进展

This paper aims to review some miniature microwave filters developed recently, including dual-mode microstrip open-loop resonator filters, folded waveguide resonator filters, multilayer filters and superconducting filters. The concepts and techniques explored to achieve the miniaturization are described with some demonstrators.

Miniaturization of BPF Based on Broad-Side Coupled Strip Resonators 基于宽边耦合条形谐振器的BPF小型化

Three types of resonators and filters are described that belong to the family of broad-side coupled metal strip structure. Strong coupling between strips due to large mutual capacitance naturally increases the intensity of stored electric energy, resulting in a high effective permittivity for artificial dielectrics and a low resonant frequency for multi-strip resonators. Both features are useful for miniaturization of the resonators made of those principles. Improvement of loss and/or spurious characteristics is attained by a proper choice of metal strip dimension, orientation and intensity. Broad-side coupling is also used for wide range of control of coupling coefficient. By insertion of metal shield between two resonators, the coupling coefficient is controlled from 0.001 to 1.0 (1000 times) without changing the resonator distance. This feature is another means to miniaturize BPFs.

Compact Microstrip-to-CPS Transition for UWB Application 用于超宽带应用的紧凑微带到cps转换

A novel ultra-wideband (UWB) microstrip-to-CPS (coplanar stripline) transition has been developed. This transition or balun structure has several attractive advantages such as good impedance transformation, compact size and wide bandwidth. After the parallel-coupled line section between the microstrip line and CPS is investigated under varied traversal dimensions, a wide transmitting band is well achieved with the emergence of two transmission poles. Next, such a single transition circuit is optimally designed to cover the whole UWB band (3.1 GHz to 10.6 GHz). To verify the predicted results in experiment, the two back-to-back transitions with the same 50 Omega microstrip feed lines are fabricated and tested. Measured results exhibit the return loss close to 10.0 dB over a band from 3.5 GHz to 10.0 GHz.

UWB Bandpass Filter with Multiple Frequency Notched Bands 多频率陷波带的UWB带通滤波器

In this paper, an Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) bandpass filter with multiple frequency band-notched characteristics is investigated. The filter is realized by combining a series of coplanar waveguide (CPW) periodic structure (PS) etched on the surface of a substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) with some split ring resonators (SRRs) placed near the input or output feed lines. The prototypes of UWB (5 GHz-10.5 GHz) bandpass filters with two and three notched bands are implemented and measured. The measured data are in agreement with the simulated results.

Design of Dual-Plane Filter Based on Center-Stubbed Resonator 基于中心存根谐振器的双平面滤波器设计

In this paper, a novel bandpass filter using microstrip-via-CPW resonator is proposed. This symmetric resonator can support two modes. By introducing source/load coupling, two additional zeros can be generated. The whole structure was meandered for size reducing. Advantages of using this type of filter are not only its low insertion loss, but also its controllable transmission zeros. Both simulated and measured results are presented.

Super Compact Miniaturization of CMOS RFICs Using Synthetic Quasi-TEM Transmission Lines 利用合成准tem传输线实现CMOS rfic的超紧凑小型化

In this paper, a 90o hybrid, a 180o hybrid, a low noise amplifier (LNA) and an active bandpass filter (BPF) are fabricated and tested at X-band in 0.18-mum 1P6M bulk CMOS technology. The area-consuming transmission lines (TLs) and inductors of the RFICs are implemented by the meandered complementary-conducting-strips (CCS) TLs. The meandered CCS TLs demonstrate miniaturized designs such as the 90deg hybrid and the rat-race hybrid with 95% and 98% size reduction compared to the prototype designs, respectively. Moreover, the active circuits including LNA and active BPF show compact designs and maintain good electrical performance.

The investigations on half-mode substrate integrated waveguide (HMSIW) optimized for use in high-speed bandpass digital interconnects is reported in this paper. It is known that the substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) has been successfully proposed and used in ultrahigh-speed digital interconnects. The structure features low-loss, low-crosstalk and easy-to-fabricate in planar form using a standard printed circuit board (PCB) process. The novelty of implementing HMSIW in the case of interconnects is that it can reduce the SIW transverse width by nearly 50%, and has a much wider bandwidth than that of SIW. The HMSIW structure exhibits low loss and leakage when tested at tens of GHz frequency range. Moreover, the near-end and the far-end cross-talks of HMSIW in dense layout are shown to have a better performance than those of microstrip line. HMSIW also can be easily bended to adapt different layout.
