Competitive Algorithm of Simulating Natural Tree Growth and its Application in Antenna Design 模拟树木自然生长的竞争算法及其在天线设计中的应用

According to the principle of unity of opposition in the natural tree growing and wilting, the competitive algorithm of simulating natural tree growth is presented in this paper. The algorithm is also used to optimize a tree-shaped line antenna whose directive gain is higher than that of the traditional antennas in the same size.

A Novel Double Negative Substrate for Miniature Patch Antenna 一种新型微型贴片天线双负基板

A novel double negative(DNG)structure is proposed and a patch antenna using it as substrate based on the back wave(BW) theory is simulated in the paper. The result of the simulation shows the relative bandwidth of the DNG is wider than existing structures. It also shows that the novel structure has a very small electrical dimension and suitable for the substrate of patch antenna. By using this substrate, the size of the patch antenna can be reduced obviously.

Miniaturization Techniques of Substrate Integrated Waveguide Circuits 基板集成波导电路的小型化技术

Substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) has become popular and it has widely been used in microwave and millimeter wave circuit and system designs. Compared to other planar transmission lines, the geometrical dimension, in particular, the width of an SIW is much larger, which depends on the operating frequency and substrate material. Therefore, an effective SIW miniaturization is required for developing a high-density integration in circuit design. In this paper, three miniaturization techniques of SIW circuits are discussed in order to achieve a high compression ratio. A group of SIW transmission lines based on these miniaturization techniques are analyzed and their propagation constants and quality factors are extracted for comparison.

Design of Minimized Electromagnetic Bandgap Structure High Temperature Superconducting Filter 最小电磁带隙结构高温超导滤波器的设计

A novel electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) of periodic rings etched on a YBCO microstrip line is presented and a minimized bandstop filter of high performance is obtained. In addition, this paper also develops a miniature EBG high temperature superconductors (HTS) disk filter with high power handling capability by etching five circular holes from a disc resonator.

A Compact Microstrip Branch-Line Coupler with Capacitor Loading 电容负载微带分支耦合器

A compact microstrip branch-line coupler with capacitor loading is presented. The new structure not only effectively reduces the occupied area to 33% of the conventional branch-line coupler at 1.0 GHz, but also has high harmonic suppression performance over a wide band. Furthermore, the new structure has only four variable parameters and can be easily designed. The design is validated both by simulation and measurement.

Miniaturization and Dual-Band Operation in Planar Microwave Components by Using Resonant-Type Metamaterial Transmission Lines 利用谐振型超材料传输线实现平面微波元件的小型化和双频运行

In this work, it is shown that dual-band microwave components based on plusmn90deg metamaterial transmission lines can be miniaturized by implementing the artificial lines by means of complementary spiral resonators (CSRs). Such lines exhibit a composite right/left handed (CRLH) behavior. Dual-band operation is achieved by designing the lines to provide a phase of -90o at the lower operating frequency (within the left handed band) and +90o phase shift at the upper frequency (within the right handed band). Size reduction, as compared to conventional implementations, is achieved by implementing the lines with a single unit cell, and thanks to the small electrical size of CSRs. To illustrate the possibilities of the approach, a dual-band branch-line coupler based on metamaterial transmission lines implemented by means of CSRs is presented. The device has been designed to be functional at the mobile GSM bands (f1= 0.9 GHz, f2= 1.8 GHz). As compared to the conventional branch line, a 40% size reduction is obtained. The approach is fully compatible with planar technology.

Realized Metamaterial CRLH Bandpass Filter for UHF-Band WLAN with Harmonics Suppressed 用于uhf频段无线局域网谐波抑制的超材料CRLH带通滤波器

This paper presents the design of a size-reduced Bandpass Filter working in the UHF band. To minimize the overall size of the component, the concept of Left-Handedness is adopted and combined with Right-handed lines for using the resonators as small as around one eighth of a quarter-wavelength as well as suppressing higher ordered harmonics. In addition to the basic metamaterial theory, the inverters are included and implemented for C-coupling. This design method is validated by the physical realization as well as rigorous simulations.

Simple Formulas of the Capacitances for Broadside Coupled Stripline by Synthetic Asymptote 用综合渐近线求宽边耦合带线电容的简单公式

In this paper, simple CAD formulas are obtained for the capacitance matrix of asymmetric broadside coupled stripline by synthetic asymptote. The formulas have good physical insights with only one arbitrary constant. Compared with numerical results by moment method, the average error of the formulas is less than 2%.

Recent Advances in Microwave Filters 微波滤波器的最新进展

This paper will describe recent advances in techniques for the design and realisation of microwave filters for a variety of applications including mobile and satellite communications, and radar. The first area, lossy filters, is that of the synthesis of filters with finite dissipation loss. This enables the realisation of highly selective filters with lower resonator Q factor than conventional design approaches, consequently reducing the physical size of filters in receiver applications. The second approach, frequency selective limiters, is a non-linear filtering technique which reduces the dynamic range of signals across a wide frequency band, enabling simpler A-D conversion of radar signals. The third technique, reconfigurable filters, is a new method for constructing tunable bandpass filters with low loss and high intercept point. Finally we will present results on techniques for the design of multi-mode patch antennas with filtering characteristics, enabling wider band and multiband operation.

Asymmetrical Two λ/2 Resonators Bandpass Filter Design by Artificial Neural Network Modeling 基于人工神经网络建模的非对称双λ/2谐振带通滤波器设计

This paper presents a design approach for an asymmetrical lambda/2 resonators bandpass filter by using the artificial neural network (ANN) modeling technique. Three important dimensions of the filter layout are used to capture critical input-output relationships in the ANN model. Once fully developed, the ANN model has been shown to be as accurate as an EM simulator and much more efficient computationally in the design optimization of the filter.

Three important dimensions of the filter layout are used to capture critical input-output relationships in the ANN model.
