We demonstrate a multi-aperture longwave-infrared multispectral imaging technique that, though simple, uniquely combines for the first time the advantages of high throughput, video-rate operation, real-time optimization and low cost. We report snapshot imaging, detection and classification of gas clouds and plastics.

We present methods to design optical elements using optimization. As a demonstration, we fabricate silicon metagratings that can split and bend light with record efficiencies. We envision that meta-optics will enable new modalities in imaging.

Identifying ambiguities and high stress regions in digital photoelasticity is a complex process. We consider such zones as salient information, and process them through saliency algorithms. Hence, highlighted information coincided with ambiguities and stress concentrations.

Experimental results of imaging through densely scattering fog and water are presented using digital holography. Technique allows for time and coherence gating to limit noise from backscattered returns and reconstruct imagery at long attenuation lengths.
