A Study on the Discussion Method of Classics Reading: Based on 〈Masterpiece Reading〉 learners’ perception analysis 经典阅读的讨论方法研究——基于《名著阅读》学习者的感知分析

This study aims to investigate discussion methods applicable to classical reading courses based on learner perception analysis. In recent years, the rapid spread of artificial intelligence has increased the demand for human thinking and creativity. Discussion is a teaching method that can effectively strengthen these abilities, and it is necessary to strengthen research on specific applications in university education in the future. Therefore, this study examined whether there is a difference in students' perceptions of the class and the improvement of core competencies according to the difference in discussion methods. The results showed that students who held group discussions had higher mean scores regarding lesson design, classroom activities, feedback and communication, achievement, and satisfaction as opposed to students who only held bulletin board discussions. In addition, both groups were most positive about improving their articulation competencies, while students who participated in bulletin board discussions were more positive about improving their self-management competencies. Also, students who participated in group discussions were more positive about improving their dedication and universal value competencies. We hope that this study will be helpful in designing and implementing discussion methods in future classical reading courses.

A Case Study of Culture and Arts Education with Local Communities: Focusing on College Students' Field Experience in Culture and Arts Education 以地方社区文化艺术教育为例——以大学生文化艺术教育的实地体验为中心

This study aims to improve the efficiency of learning by analyzing program development plans and field practice effects through college students' field practice projects in culture and arts education with the community based on the subject of ‘Understanding and Practicing Fields of Culture and Arts Education’ in liberal arts education at universities. It aims to elevate The subjects of the study were six students who took the liberal arts course of ‘Understanding and Practice in the Field of Culture and Arts Education’ at a four-year university located in S city. Class operation was conducted for 15 weeks, understanding and exploring the field of cultural arts education, preparation and planning for field practice, and field practice project. As for the research method, qualitative research was conducted through individual interviews and focus group interviews (FGI). As a result of the study, first, it confirmed that self-confidence was improved through the application of programs for field practice and case analysis in cultural arts education with the local community. Second, through cultural arts education field practice project activities, the study confirmed that students found their identity in the process of interaction and developed character. Third, it served as an opportunity to imprint the importance of arts and culture education, and helped them to have a vision for career and employment decision-making in the field of culture and arts education. The implication of this study is that college students were motivated to practice cultivating their character and instilling confidence in the development of cultural and arts programs. In addition, awareness of cultural arts education with the local community as a liberal arts education has increased, and interest in career and employment in the field of cultural arts education has increased. Therefore, it is considered that ‘understanding and practice of cultural arts education field’ in cultural arts education with the local community will be helpful as basic data for operating job competency liberal arts courses.

Analysis of Research Trends on General Mathematics at Universities: Focusing on Papers Published in Korean Journals Over the Past 10 Years 大学普通数学研究趋势分析——以近10年韩国期刊论文为例

In this study, in order to provide a developmental discussion on general mathematics in universities and the direction for follow-up research, research trends were examined for papers published in Korean domestic academic journals over the past 10 years. The results of the research are as follows: First, among studies related to mathematics education and general education, research on general mathematics in universities is severely lacking. Considering that nearly all universities offer courses related to general mathematics, professors and researchers responsible for general mathematics should dedicate more attention to research on general college mathematics. Second, concerning the subjects and content areas of mathematics, research on general mathematics shows a bias towards basic general mathematics for science and engineering students. Therefore, there is a need for research on basic general mathematics for students in the humanities and social sciences, as well as research on pure general mathematics applicable to all students. Third, there is a lack of research on evaluation and educational technology in the field of general mathematics. Evaluation plays a crucial role in education, and it is important to conduct research on the evaluation of general mathematics and the utilization of educational technology, especially considering the increasing emphasis on the use of various technological tools in mathematics education. Fourth, in terms of research methods, the majority of studies focus on quantitative research. Therefore, it is necessary to employ diverse research methods that are suitable for the teaching and learning environment of general mathematics. Fifth, concerning the research topic on teaching and learning, while there have been numerous studies targeting science and engineering students, there is a need for a variety of studies on teaching and learning that encompass all students, including those in the humanities and social sciences, as well as the professors themselves.

A Subjectivity Study of College Students' Coaching Issues 大学生辅导问题的主体性研究

The purpose of this study is to categorize how college students perceive coaching topics and to revitalize college students' coaching based on an understanding of the perception of each type. The Q methodology was used for this study. The Q sample was 33 coaching topic items, and the P sample was 38 college students. As a result, four perception types were revealed. Namely, “self-management topic-seeking type,” “relationship formation topic-seeking type,” “balanced life topic-seeking type,” and “continuous life topic-seeking type.” When coaches can understand each type's characteristics based on these results, they can contribute to their students’ efforts to develop their lives while at college.
本研究的目的是对大学生对教练主题的感知进行分类,并在了解每种感知的基础上振兴大学生的教练。本研究采用Q方法。Q样本为33个辅导话题项,P样本为38名大学生。结果显示了四种感知类型。即“自我管理型话题型”、“关系形成型话题型”、“平衡型生活话题型”和“持续型生活话题型”。当教练能够根据这些结果了解每种类型的特征时,他们就可以帮助学生在大学期间努力发展他们的生活。

Aspects of Questioning ChatGPT in the Writing Process of College Student Writers: Focusing on Comparison between Writers Groups by Writing Level 大学生作家写作过程中质疑ChatGPT的几个方面——以写作水平对比为中心

The purpose of this study is to reveal the characteristics of how college student writers use ChatGPT in the writing process by analyzing the ‘question’ aspect of the writer group according to the writing level. To this end, 331 questions appearing in the written by 60 students were analyzed according to the criteria of three question types, as well as the frequency and continuity of questions for each writing process.As a result, ⑴ college writers showed a bias in their question patterns concerning the process of ‘creating content’, asking ‘one-time questions’ rather than ‘continuous questions’, ‘dependent questions’ rather than ‘initiative questions’, and ‘general questions’ rather than ‘specific questions’. In terms of functions required of ChatGPT, many questions arose in the order of ‘information (presentation)’, ‘evaluation’, ‘creation’, ‘application’, and ‘analysis’. ⑵ The question patterns of the upper and lower groups according to the writing level contrasted greatly. The upper group used ‘continuous’, ‘initiative’, and ‘specific’ questions relatively more, and showed a tendency to ask various questions in terms of request functions for ChatGPT. On the other hand, in the subgroup, attention was paid to the problem of the unethical use of ChatGPT due to the ‘invention’ question along with the contrasting aspect.Based on the above data, this studey indicated four areas that future ‘Question Education’ should take into consideration. First, in the field of writing education, the direction of ‘question education’ should be set under the goal of ‘priority improvement of learners' writing ability’. Second, prior to education on question methods, various types of questions should be taught. Third, useful question types and question sequence strategies for each writing process should be developed in connection with existing writing education contents. Finally, an agreement between the teacher and the learners concerning the use of ‘invention’ questions must be drawn up in a very specific manner.

Going Beyond L2 Learning -The Effects of Self-Assessment on Student Metacognition, Self-Regulated Learning and Self-Reflection 超越第二语言学习——自我评价对学生元认知、自我调节学习和自我反思的影响

This study aimed to examine the benefits of self-assessment in second language (L2) learning, specifically focusing on metacognition, self-regulated learning, and self-reflection. Sixteen university students from D. University voluntarily participated in the study after completing an online English (L2) presentation course in either 2020 or 2021. The participants' proficiency levels varied from beginner to intermediate.By conducting in-depth interviews and employing thematic analysis to explore participants' perspectives and experiences, the study uncovered a profound recognition of the significance of self-assessment in relation to metacognitive abilities and personal growth. The findings underscored the transformative impact of self-assessment on L2 presentation skills and metacognition. Assisted by a specifically designed rubric, these effects encompassed a comprehensive understanding of preparation requirements, identification and improvement of strengths and weaknesses, and heightened engagement and progress in the learning process.Additionally, students highlighted the positive influence of self-assessment on self-regulated learning. They explained that self-assessment served as a motivator for diligent preparation, the timely completion of tasks, improved time management, and persistent efforts to enhance their performance. Moreover, students demonstrated a proactive mindset by taking ownership of their learning, setting goals, monitoring their progress, and adjusting their strategies accordingly.Lastly, students expressed a keen recognition of the significance of self-assessment, acknowledging its unique potential for objective self-reflection. They recognized that this benefit of self-assessment, followed by teacher feedback, could reach beyond the scope of their presentations and influence various aspects of future disciplines and contexts that would be essential for life-long learning.These benefits suggest that combining self-assessment with detailed rubrics and precise teacher feedback enhances its value, thus fostering dynamic, learner-centered L2 education.

A Study on the Effectiveness of PBL Classes Focusing on Solving Community Problems for Education for Sustainable Development 以解决社区问题为重点的PBL课程在可持续发展教育中的有效性研究

This study aims to reveal the effectiveness and significance of PBL classes through the analysis of a PBL class case centered on community problem solving for education for sustainable development . This study utilized a case study of a PBL class in the course “Reading the World Made with Empathy,” which was designed under the theme of the 11th goal of the SDGs, “Sustainable Cities and Communities,” as a tool for analysis. The learning goal of the PBL class is to cultivate ESD core competencies through community problem solving project activities.The results of the t-test for the evaluation of ESD core competencies showed a significant difference in the mean values of competencies before and after the training, which proved that ESD core competencies improved after the training. There are three aspects of significance in the evaluation of reflection through the analysis of reflection records. First, through team activities of cooperation and feedback, the cognitive capacity of interconnectedness to relate local issues to oneself was expanded. Second, social responsibility and socio-emotional competencies were cultivated through field trips to allow for the students to deeply empathize with local issues and to get a sense of solidarity with the community. Third, the motivation and willpower to cultivate problem-solving skills and practical action capabilities were enhanced by deriving the results of the S-VALLEY project, which solved practical problems for the sustainable development of the region.Therefore, this community problem solving oriented PBL class is expected to provide meaningful implications for the expansion of ESD in universities and the development of practical education programs in terms of fostering the core competencies pursued by ESD and by encouraging participation and action in community activities.

Activities and a Semantic Network Analysis Based on Core Competencies and their Contents 基于核心能力及其内容的活动与语义网络分析

In this study, the pattern of core competency-based activities, as well as the contents of the project in core competency in educational institutions (including universities) were reviewed. Data were derived from the search results of the service contract list in the Korea ON-line e-Procurement System (KONEPS) for the past 10 years (2012.9 - 2022.8). Research questions were as follows: (1) What is the pattern of activities based on core competencies in educational institutions including universities? (2) How were the contents and scope of the project in the activities of university core competencies presented in terms of semantic network analysis? A total of 240 contracts, excluding overlapping ones, are worth about 6.076 billion KRW, and since 2018, the number of contracts and the contract amount have increased in earnest compared to the previous period. According to the framework of analysis, first of all, in terms of area, education training accounted for 58.3% with 140 cases, followed by diagnosis (tool development and diagnosis implementation) with 49 cases (20.4%), and the two areas occupied for nearly 80% of the total. In terms of demand for core competencies, higher education accounted for the highest number of contracts (37) in the area of diagnosis (tool development and diagnosis implementation). Next, In terms of the frequency of individual words in the co-occurrence network, development, extra-curricular programs, diagnosis, diagnosis tool, university, analysis, and system were the top keywords. In terms of the frequency of words appearing simultaneously with the word “core competency”, development, diagnosis, university, diagnosis tool, ideal talent, result, analysis, extra-curricular programs, management, and competency based appeared in the above order. At the time of the study, 8 communities were identified along with degree centrality. On the other hand, reliability-validity, education-core competency based, program-linkage, subject-content, and subcompetence-behavioral indicators ranked high in the phi coefficient in terms of the correlation network between the words, diagnosis, system, curriculum, derivation. Ideal talent ranked high in the phi coefficient as words that form pairs with a fixed term core competency. 24 communities were identified along with degree centrality. In light of the research results, discussions centered on the strengthening of alignment with university strategy, along with the consideration of competencies based on the future rather than the present. Lastly, directions for future research were suggested based on the limitations of the current study.

Exploring the Significance of Promoting General Physical Education and the Utilization of Digital Technology after COVID-19 探讨新冠肺炎疫情后推进普通体育教育和数字技术应用的意义

This study explored the significance of promoting college general physical education in the era of COVID-19. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, college general physical education classes and various activities have faced numerous challenges and changes. It has become necessary to approach the intrinsic value and importance of college general physical education from a new perspective, considering the disrupted opportunities for students to engage in diverse interactions and experiences. This situation presents an opportunity to develop a new educational paradigm. To address this, previous studies were analyzed and synthesized, leading to the proposal of enhancing college physical education through the active utilization of digital technologies such as new teaching methods, remote learning tools, AR, AI, VR, and big data, which are familiar to students with positive digital experiences. Additionally, an emphasis was placed on the development of new college general physical education programs that apply specialized digital platforms, content, and devices.General physical education, which is based on bodily movement more than any other subject, is highly suitable for integration with various digital devices. Therefore, through various attempts and efforts, it is expected that positive synergies can be created, and that the utilization of such digital technologies can enhance student participation and learning outcomes, thereby elevating the value of physical education as a part of general education.

Reflective Teaching with the Film “Get Out” ‘Watch Together’ 电影《逃出绝命镇》的反思性教学

This study explored the possibility of reflective education using the film Get Out. With the expansion of OTT services, ‘watching alone’ and ‘quick playback’ are becoming commonplace. In this paper, we propose a way to deepen the understanding of the film's core message and lead to reflection by watching and discussing the film together.Although racism is publicly prohibited and seems to have been politically resolved to some extent, it is still at the root of various problems in modern society. The film Get Out provides an opportunity to reflect on this issue of racism and also on identity, which is a major issue during the university years.This paper provides an opportunity to reflect on stereotypes and prejudicial attitudes by discussing how stereotypes can easily lead to discrimination and furthermore to hatred and conflict. It also provides an opportunity to reflect on identity, such as the students' own values and beliefs, by discussing the problem of identity confusion caused by the transplantation of a black body and a white brain.
