Material Characterization Improvement in High Temperature Rectangular Waveguide Measurements 高温矩形波导测量中材料特性的改进

The scattering parameters of a single-top gap partially filled rectangular waveguide (PFW) are calculated using mode-matching of the transverse fields. This is accomplished by including in the calculations the complex power contained in higher-order TM modes scattered by a material sample in the waveguide. Furthermore, use of the forward and reverse scattering parameters eliminates the dependence of the placement of the sample with respect to a reference or calibration plane. A combination of the higher-order mode-matching and the reference plane independent (RPI) technique provides the best method for overcoming errors associated with high temperature waveguide measurements. Experimental results are presented to validate the analysis.

BOR-CROSS Antenna BOR-CROSS天线

This paper presents a wideband antenna, called the BOR-CROSS, composed of a conducting body of revolution (BOR) and a cross-shaped conducting plate. The plate is placed concentrically on top of the BOR and is in contact with its top surface. The antenna is backed by a conducting plate (ground plane). The BOR-CROSS is used to realize a low-profile antenna that operates over a frequency range of 470 MHz to 2170 MHz. The antenna height above the ground plane is chosen to be small: H = 4.5 cm (= 0.07 wavelength at 470 MHz). The analysis of the BOR-CROSS antenna is performed using the finite-difference time-domain method.

Domain walls in magnetic nanowires for digital logic and ultrahigh density data storage 用于数字逻辑和超高密度数据存储的磁纳米线畴壁

Nanometre scale planar magnetic nanowires can exhibit a special magnetic property known as domain wall conduit behaviour in which domain walls can be transmitted along the nanowire by the application of weak magnetic fields or electrical currents. This opens up the possibility of integrated circuits containing complex networks of nanowires in which information is carried, stored and processed by domain walls flowing along nanowire conduits. In this talk I show a complete Boolean logic system implemented using domain walls in nanowires and describe the outlook for ultrahigh density solid state data storage based on this approach.

Progress in Compact Multifunction Automotive Antennas 紧凑型多功能汽车天线研究进展

This paper reviews advances in vehicle mounted antennas developed into a long term R&D program in collaboration between the ASK Industries Group and the Microwave and Antenna Laboratory (LAM) of the University of Florence. Today an ever-increasing number of radio services have become available, therefore multifunction, multiband antenna systems are required. Examples are made of recently developed wideband, multi-band and multi-function automotive passive and active antenna systems for roof and internal mounting, designed to satisfy various attendant features such as compactness, radiation efficiency, robustness, aesthetic and aerodynamic profile and a low mass-production cost, that after all represents the most stringent requirement.

Conservation Properties of the Discontinuous Galerkin Method for Maxwell Equations 麦克斯韦方程组的不连续Galerkin方法的守恒性质

We investigate the conservation properties of the centered DO formulation for Maxwell equations. In particular, we state the problem and derive the criteria for charge conservation. It is shown that the centered scheme guarantees strict charge conservation for Cartesian discretizations with tensor product basis functions of arbitrary order. On unstructured grids, however, the conservation of charge is inherently violated. The reasons for this are of purely topological nature.

Diffraction from Arbitrarily Shaped Open Shells of Revolution: Static Case 任意形状开壳旋转的衍射:静态情况

A mathematically rigorous and numerically efficient approach is developed for solving the Laplace equation with Dirichlet boundary condition on a closed or open arbitrary shaped surface of revolution. Although important in itself, the problem also provides a first step towards the solution of the related wave scattering problem. The generalized method of analytical regularization transforms the problem to a well-conditioned infinite system of linear algebraic equations of the second kind. This provides a robust numerical solution with any desired accuracy.

Diffraction by right-angled penetrable wedges 直角可穿透楔的衍射

Two problems of electromagnetic diffraction (B-polarization) by a right-angled penetrable wedge are analyzed. For both problems, one of the walls of the wedge is an electrically resistive half-plane. The second one is either a perfectly magnetically conductive half-plane (Problem A), or a perfectly electrically conductive half-plane (Problem B). The Sommerfeld integral representation is used to convert the problems to a difference equation of the second order. For a special value of the impedance parameter, the problems reduce to two scalar Riemann-Hilbert (RH) problems on a segment with coefficients having a pole and a zero on the segment. The general solution to the RH problems is derived by quadratures. The RH problems are equivalent to the governing boundary-value problem when certain conditions are satisfied. These conditions are used to determine unknown meromorphic functions in the solution of the RH problems.

The History of the Development of the Dielectric Resonator Antenna 介质谐振器天线的发展历史

The dielectric resonator antenna has been in existence for almost 25 years, and over that time a great deal of research has been conducted that demonstrates its positive attributes as a broad band, efficient radiator with great potential, especially for high frequency applications. Its inherently low loss behavior results both from its lack of conducting materials to eliminate ohmic losses and its absence of a dielectric layer that might otherwise allow energy to be guided away from the desired radiation into space. A chronological history of this class of radiator is presented.

Spin Dynamics of Magnetic Disks in the Vortex State 涡旋状态下磁盘的自旋动力学

Spin dynamics of magnetic disks in the vortex state is studied by ultrafast optics. In patterned Co disks, we found that time-domain spin dynamics are strongly dictated by the transient field direction. For transient field directions applied parallel to the disk plane, an azimuthal spin-wave mode splitting of Co disks of greater than 2 GHz arises on account of the presence of the vortex core. In the NiFe/Cu/Co disks, even though the laser beam only probes the top NiFe disks, we observe that there exists a dominant high frequency resonance close to that of Co disks. This is due to the dynamic dipolar interaction between the Co and NiFe layers. Spin dynamics in a large array of NiFe disks also has been studied through examination of the time-resolved magneto-optical Kerr effect at diffraction spots.

For transient field directions applied parallel to the disk plane, an azimuthal spin-wave mode splitting of Co disks of greater than 2 GHz arises on account of the presence of the vortex core. In the NiFe/Cu/Co disks, even though the laser beam only probes the top NiFe disks, we observe that there exists a dominant high frequency resonance close to that of Co disks. This is due to the dynamic dipolar interaction between the Co and NiFe layers.
