A generalized Holland model for wave diffraction by thin wires 细线波衍射的广义Holland模型

This work aims at providing efficient numerical schemes for the simulation of diffraction by thin wires. Concerning electromagnetics, Holland model already provides precise results for such computations. However this method requires to calculate numerically the value of some unknown parameter. It appears that the correct value for this parameter substantially depends on the surrounding part of the mesh. For a model case of acoustic diffraction we propose an alternative method that does not require evaluating any parameter. We prove consistency of such a method and show how it is related to the Holland method. This leads to a theoretical value of the Holland parameter.

Scattering by a Metallic Sphere Concentric with a Metallic Disk 与金属盘同心的金属球的散射

The electromagnetic scattering of a plane wave by a metallic sphere concentric with a circular disk is considered, in the frequency domain. At low and intermediate frequencies, either separation of variables and mode-matching with matrix truncation or a direct numerical approach such as the method of moments may be used, whereas at high frequencies a combination of geometrical theory of diffraction (GTD) and physical optics (PO) is employed.

In the study of the EM interaction with a biological system, computational methods, typical of the physico-chemical research area, are unavoidable when, the attention is focused at molecular level. In this paper some examples of the critical role they can play are given, applying such techniques in evaluating both the dielectric characteristics of the aqueous environment near the cell and the possible EM induced alterations on ligand-binding processes.

Frequency-domain Integral Equations in Linear Electrodynamics 线性电动力学中的频域积分方程

A general formulation is presented for integral equations in the most general linear media, for which only the free-space Green's function is needed. The frequency-domain integral equations thus obtained contain all previously derived integral equations as particular cases. The derivation is based on the equivalency between a macroscopic and a microscopic formulation of Maxwell's equations. Possible extensions to time-domain electromagnetic fields, that take into account the dispersive properties of the media, are discussed.

A New Quad-Band CPW-Fed Stacked Antenna for Wireless LAN Applications 一种用于无线局域网的新型四频带cpw馈电堆叠天线

A novel quad-band coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed stacked antenna suitable for wireless LAN applications is presented. The antenna uses two orthogonal-shaped slot antennas printed on similar groundless substrates stacked at the top of each other. Each antenna is known to be suitable for dual-band operation, so the stacked configuration gives rise to the satisfactory operation of the antenna in four distinct frequency bands. The specifications of the antenna's operating frequency bands, i.e. the center frequencies and their respected band widths have been selected such that most high speed wireless LAN systems especially those with WiMAX protocol can be supported by the antenna. Ansof's HFSS software was employed for designing the antenna. The CST Microwave Studio was then used for verifying the results and optimizing the structure for the desired frequency bands.

CPW Antenna Fabricated on Silicon Substrate, Based on Transmission Line Metamaterial Approach 基于传输线超材料方法的硅基CPW天线

The paper presents results obtained in modeling, technological fabrication and measurements for a CPW (coplanar waveguide) zeroth-order resonating antenna, based on CRLH TL (composite right/left-handed transmission line). The CRLH TL consists of cascaded cells of series CPW interdigital capacitors and parallel CPWs. The antenna was fabricated on silicon substrate. This was designed and analyzed using commercial electromagnetic software (IE3D-Zeland), A very good agreement between the experimental and the simulation results has been observed for the return-loss as well as for the gain and the radiation pattern.

Evaluation of terminal antennas in wireless mobile communications 无线移动通信中终端天线的评价

Realistic channel measurements are central for reliable channel characterization and terminal antenna evaluation. This is due to the complex signal propagation behavior inherent in mobile communications. The need for evaluating new systems utilizing multielement antenna terminals in a more efficient and faster way has been a driving force for an extensive and multidimensional research area in our institute. In this paper we present a MEasurement based antenna test-bed (ME BAT) for the evaluation of multielement mobile terminal antenna systems. The method combines measured directional channel library and the radiation patterns of antennas under test (AUT).

Advanced Concepts for Evaluating Susceptibility and Survivability of Large Infrastructure Networks against IEMI 评估大型基础设施网络对IEMI的易感性和生存性的先进概念

In this paper we examine a control strategy that improves the probability of recovery of strongly coupled infrastructures subsequent to a postulated large-scale disruption and damage event. We study the electric power grid and public data network as notional examples. We show that very general properties lead to the possibilities of both recovery and collapse. We model the infrastructures as sets of dynamical variables and consider equilibrium and initial setbacks from equilibrium. The concept of automated control and non-linear behavior resulting from strong Infrastructure degradation from an event, such as a coronal mass ejection from the sun or a high altitude electromagnetic pulse (HEMP) attack is then introduced. The general mathematical properties of the automated control functions that improve the probability of recovery are identified using a phase plane analysis.

Near field techniques for radar synthetic environment simulator 雷达合成环境模拟器近场技术

Tests on phased array radar systems are typically performed in far field test ranges, which, in the case of large radar antennas, imply very large distances, an uncontrolled outdoor environment and limitations on the number of test probes to be deployed. This paper summarizes and compares the main techniques that can be used in an anechoic chamber in order to realize tests on a phased array radar. Numerical results will be shown for each technique, as well as measurements performed at SELEX-SI near field facility.

The Essential Modes of the Electromagnetic Scattering Operator 电磁散射算子的基本模

Previously we have shown that apart from discrete spectrum (eigenvalues), the three-dimensional volume integral operator of electromagnetic scattering has a continuous essential spectrum as well. Here we derive the corresponding essential modes. We use the Weyl definition of essential spectrum, where such modes are described in terms of singular sequences. A closed form expression for the required sequence is obtained and its properties are analyzed. We also discuss the physical meaning and the conditions on the excitation of the essential resonance.
