A decentralized ITS architecture for efficient distribution of traffic task management 分散式ITS架构,有效分配交通任务管理

In this paper, the attention is focused on the design of a new multi-layered architecture for vehicular environment. System will be able to gather information from vehicular devices. This will allow system to faster respond at emergency situation such as traffic jams or collisions. Distributed entities work at different layers exploiting cloud and fog computing in order to better distribute tasks along the infrastructure. Lower layer is composed of On-Board Units (OBUs) and RoadSide Units (RSUs) that exploits Vehicular Ad-hoc Network (VANET) protocols for inner VANET communications. At the Edge layer we propose fog computing nodes that gather data from RSUs for local processing and after an aggregation step they send data to an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) management system. The proposed architecture has the main goal to better respond to the network and traffic dynamics by improving performances of the ITS system.

New fast time synchronization method for MIMO-OFDM systems MIMO-OFDM系统快速时间同步新方法

This paper presents a fast and low complexity timing synchronization method for MIMO-OFDM system. The proposed method uses simple CAZAC sequence as synchronization preamble and the combination of a set of correlators at the receiver side in order to increase the probability of correct timing acquisition. Simulation results in AWGN-Rayleigh fading channel show that an acquisition probability of 1 could be achieved for a Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) higher than −20dB with a preamble length of 1024.

Power-Splitting Protocol in Power Beacon-assisted Energy Harvesting Full-Duplex Relaying Networks: Performance Analysis 功率信标辅助能量采集全双工中继网络中的功率分割协议:性能分析

In this paper, we investigate the full-duplex power beacon-assisted energy harvesting relay network in the power splitting protocol. The proposed system model consists of a Source node (S), a Relay node (R), a Destination node (D) and a Power-assisted beacon node (PB). In this model, S first harvests energy from PB in the downlink (DL) and then uses the harvested energy to transmit information to D via helping R in the power splitting protocol. Firstly, the analytical expressions of the system performance are proposed and derived. After that, the analytical results are also demonstrated and convinced by using Monte-Carlo simulation. The numerical results demonstrated and convinced the analytical and the simulation results are matched well with each other in connection with all system parameters.

RSSI or Time-of-flight for Bluetooth Low Energy based localization? An experimental evaluation RSSI或飞行时间为蓝牙低功耗定位?实验评价

In this paper, we focus on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and in particular on its use for ranging, starting from the observation that data on RSSI in BLE comes nearly for free. The SDK typically provides to developers an easy way to extract this data and use it to implement their algorithms. However, RSSI based localization techniques have known limits. An alternative information to be used in ranging for localization purposes is Time-of-Flight (ToF). Still, this data is not provided by the BLE API, therefore we propose a practical approach for ToF extraction on top of BLE to be used as alternative to or in combination with RSSI. Furthermore, with the paper, we release the sources of the library used to perform the ToF measurement on BLE, that can be used per se or as input for a localization algorithm. We tested the measurements indoor and outdoor at different distances, both considering Line-of-Sight free or occluded by user body. We conclude evaluating ranging performance, test repeatability and comparing the obtained results with the popular RSSI based approach.

Techno-economic analysis of MIMO & DAS in 5G 5G中MIMO和DAS的技术经济分析

2020 will be the year, in which 5G is going to be put into operation, therefore, it is fundamental that all enabling technologies are analyzed in a technical and economic way. The business sector is not very favorable in investing into novel technologies. In this paper, authors propose a techno-economic model for the Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) technology and compare it to the previously developed model for the Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS). Firstly, the experimentation models are analyzed. Secondly, the mathematical models are presented and the specific parameters are opted. Several experiments help comparing and contrasting the two different technologies. There are not many works concerning the techno-economic perspectives of MIMO comparing it with the DAS, this research contributes in this direction.

Evaluating MANET Uncertainty Analysis Framework 评估MANET不确定性分析框架

Using trust relationships between nodes, decision making in a peer-to-peer distributed network like MANET possible to improve. Uncertainty plays an important role in such decision making process. Our earlier research work viz. Sandeep et al. [1] proposed Uncertainty Analysis Framework (UAF) for MANET and integrated it with different trust variants representing direct trust, indirect trust and global trust. The research work explored relationship between uncertainty and trust. The UAF is found useful to quantify Belief, Disbelief, and Uncertainty (BDU) of a network. The earlier research work measured impact of direct, indirect and global trust on the performance of the routing protocols. The proposed work is useful to get more insights about - MANET working, effectiveness of trust based algorithms and impact of uncertainty on the behavior of MANET. This research work analyses UAF behavior and performance of indirect and global trust-based routing protocols using different test conditions. The proposed research work observed that, uncertainty reduces drastically when trust is used for decision making in routing protocols. It is also observed approximately 140 seconds are required to identify good and misbehaving nodes in the network. Belief, Disbelief and Uncertainty values are fairly stable after 140 seconds from network bootstrap. Indirect trust model is found more useful for open and distributed peer-to-peer networks.

The use of wireless applications is increasing in health care services. One of these areas is communicating with wireless Implantable Medical Devices (IMD). For existing or already implanted IMDs, wireless communication security and privacy is very important when it is against active and passive adversaries. In this study, current proposed solutions with external relaying devices that protect the wireless communication data of IMDs are explained. The advantages and disadvantages of these solutions are emphasized comparatively.

Deployment of UHF RFID technology in the industrial environment is not easy to perform because of the heterogeneity of the environment, the propagation of the high frequency radio signal, the interference, and the associated time-consuming implementation. The paper deals with deployment and evaluation of developed autonomous system for measurement of UHF RFID signals in industrial environment. Such a system allows, in defined 3D real-world locations, to obtain autonomously information about the actual Received Signal Strength Indicator of the moving RFID tag (Etalon) that is registered while investigated with each antenna of RFID reader. A corridor was chosen as an experimental area, and Received Signal Strength Indicator was evaluated by both, simulation and measurement methods. The results show a statistically significant relationship between measured and modeled Received Signal Strength Indicator in dBm at the 99% confidence level. The presented autonomous system can contribute to a more comprehensive analysis of measuring the electromagnetic field emitted by the UHF RFID antennas in various industrial environments.
