This article proposes a new distribution call the Exponentiated Power Lindley-Logarithmic Distribution for modeling real life data. The distribution is motivated by the Exponentiated Power Lindley distribution. The quantile function is derived and the Maximum likelihood estimates of the parameters are also derived. The distribution performed better in simulation study than the competing distribution. The distribution can model real life biomedical phenomena and agricultural events.

In this paper, the vibration of a composite system consisting of a rotating rigid hub and a flexible thin-walled beam is considered and studied. The equation of motion is derived in the previous work of Warminski and Latalski. The method of multiple scale technique has been applied to obtain frequency response equations near the simultaneous internal and primary resonance case in the absence of the acceleration of the hub. The vibration stability at this resonance case is investigated from the frequency response equations and studied using Liapunov’s methods. The effects of changes in selected structural parameters on the vibrating system behavior are investigated and studied numerically. Through the performed studies of the effects of changes in selected system a shift of the steady state amplitudes and the multi-valued of the bent curves are observed and the steady state amplitudes of the beam and hub have decreasing in the instability regions for natural frequencies. Finally, a comparison with the papers of previously published work is reported.

General linear methods (GLMs) was introduced as a generalization of Runge{Kutta methods (RKMs) and linear multistep methods (LMMs). The discovery of general linear method gave insight into the discovery of new methods that are neither RKMs or LMMs. Here, new classes of GLMs that are nested in their stages and mono-implicit in the output are presented, these methods are referred to as nested general linear methods (NGLMs). Procedures for deriving members that are algebraically stable are discussed herein and algebraically stable NGLMs have been derived up to order p = 5. Implementation procedure of these nested general linear methods which include the solution of non-linear systems of equations by simplified Newton iterations and step size changing strategy are discussed. The order p = 3 NGLM has been implemented on two test problems by variable step size, and the results compared with the results of MATLAB ode15s and RADAU IIA.

Human papilloma Virus (HPV) is the primary infection that causes Cervical cancer. Due to the high cost of treatment for cervical cancer, protection against HPV and Cervical cancer infection may be preferable in a scarce resource settings. In this paper, a deterministic model that incorporates protection against the infection was developed and analysed. The endemic state is shown to exist provided that the reproduction number is greater than unity. Furthermore, by the use of Routh-Hurwitz criterion and suitable Lyapunov functions, Endemic Equilibrium (EE) is shown to exist provided that the reproduction number is greater than unity. By use of a suitable Lyapunov function, the endemic state was shown to be globally asymptotically stable. The effectiveness of protection is achieved if well done hence, an increase in protection leads to low disease prevalence in a population.

This paper considered the notion of European option which is geared towards solving analytical and numerical solutions. In particular, we examined the Black-Scholes closed form solution and modified Black-Scholes (MBS) partial differential equation using Crank-Nicolson finite difference method. These partial differential equations were approximated to obtain Call and Put option prices. The explicit price of both options is found accordingly. The numerical solutions were compared to the closed form prices of Black-Scholes formula. More so, comparisons of other parameters were discussed for the purpose of investment plans. The computational results shows: increase in stock volatility increases the value of options, when the initial stock price is equal to its strike price the values of call option is higher than the put option. This informs the investor about the behavior of stock prices for the purpose of decision making. Finally, all simulation results presented graphically using MATLAB.

The effect of Fourier series expansion on the solution of Stochastic Differential Equation (SDE) is considered herein. The detailed measures which govern price function of return rate for capital investments are obtained periodically. Sufficient conditions of stating mathematical propositions and proving it by means of Fourier series expansion are given. These price functions were used as drift (return rate) parameter in the solution of proposed model which follow various pattern according to their propositions. This way, the desired complete solutions were obtained. Finally, the effects of the relevant parameters were demonstrated graphically for the purpose of decision making.

Culture and mathematics are a unified whole. This can be seen from the culture in Indonesia, which is very diverse, ranging from traditional houses, traditional ceremonies, traditional clothes, traditional musical instruments, traditional games, regional dances, folk songs, places of worship, museums, inscriptions, temples, etc. Basically, contain mathematical concepts. The relationship between mathematics and culture is called ethnomathematics. So that this study aims to explore the mathematical concepts that exist in the culture of Indonesia, one of which is the traditional engklek game. The method in this study is a qualitative research method with an ethnographic approach. The method is done by the method of observation and documentation. The results showed mathematical concepts in engklek patterns, game rules, and gaco. The mathematical concepts in the game are the concept of two-dimensional geometry, numerators, calculations, and probability.

By defining the valid digits and the standard fraction form of a terminating decimal, this paper makes an investigation on the number of digits in the fractional part of addition, subtraction, and multiplication of two terminating decimals. It is proved that the number of the valid digits in the fractional part of addition or subtraction of two terminating decimals does not exceed the maximal number of the valid digits of the two operands while that of multiplication does not exceed the total of the two. Several theorems are proved in detail mathematical deductions and a potential application is exhibited in integer factorization. The results in the paper are helpful to understand the change of the number of digits in the related arithmetic operations.
