This study aimed to explore the effects of employing the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) model integrated with the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) collaborative instructional approach in teaching the concept of histograms to eighth grade students. Additionally, the research sought to assess the students' satisfaction with this integrated method during the learning process. The participants in the study comprised 44 eighth-grade students from a public school in Thailand. Three primary instruments used in this study are the learning management plan, a learning achievement test and a satisfaction questionnaire. The findings of the study indicate that the integration of the TPACK model with TGT collaborative learning had a positive impact on the participants' comprehension and knowledge of histograms. The interactive and cooperative nature of TGT activities in addition to the integration of technological, pedagogical and content knowledge increased the learning outcomes of the students. Additionally, the participants expressed a high level of satisfaction with the integrated TPACK and TGT frameworks learning experiences. This suggests that the collaborative and technology-enhanced approach fostered a positive and engaging learning environment, facilitating a deeper understanding of the histogram concept. These findings contribute to the existing body of knowledge on innovative instructional methods and provide valuable insights for educators seeking to enhance students' learning experiences in mathematics and other related subjects.

This paper seeks to examine how external governance mechanisms related to shareholder protection and creditor rights affect the choice of corporate leverage. The main objective of the study is to examine the relationship between country-level investor protection and the choice of capital structure at the firm level. The sample includes 7490 companies from 40 countries. Data were collected from all publicly listed companies between the years 2013 and 2022, listed in the Van Dijk ORBIS Bureau, based on the fiscal year 2022. This paper opts for the panel data methodology. The results suggest that companies leverage themselves consistently with the Pecking Order Theory. It was observed that the mechanisms associated with the protection of both classes of investors (i.e., shareholders and creditors) significantly influence the capital structure of the companies. The results were robust to several variations in the model studied and indicate that greater investor protection makes firms less likely to use third-party capital. The opposition of insiders (executives and majority shareholders) to debt’s moderating role at their managerial discretion may be the driving force behind this. The differential of the study lies in the distinction between the mechanisms that affect the protection of minority shareholders and those that affect the rights of creditors.

Divergent thinking (DT) is a thought process wherein many original ideas are conceptualized and unique suggestions are proffered to identify the best possible solution to a problem; it is an important component of creativity. The present study endeavors to examine the level of DT in school students and the primary factors influencing DT with the help of assessment tests such as Standard Progressive Matrices (SPM), the Emotional Intelligence Scale (EIS test), and Sharma’s Divergent Production Abilities Test (DPA). A cross-sectional study is done using quantitative methodology and probability sampling techniques. The participants of the study are [n = 192 (boys = 106, girls = 86)] school students in the age range of 11–14 years, and the study area is Tiruppur district in Tamil Nadu. Results indicate that DT and EI are negatively correlated with each other, and there is no relationship between DT and intelligence quotient (IQ). Gender differences in DT are identified, with males scoring higher than females on assessment tests. There is no significant difference between the influences of demographic factors like geographical area, economic status, age, birth order, and hand preference on DT. The study’s major conclusion about education is that students at CBSE schools do better than those at private and government-run schools. The performance of government school students is rather poor when compared to CBSE and private schools. This indicates that government school students require proper training, timely assistance, and innovative teaching methods, which lead to the enhancement of DT and creativity.

A potential irrigation area of 3,088,395 hectares exists on the 74.3 million hectares of arable land in Ethiopia. The country has not received many benefits despite its enormous irrigation potential. A sizable section of Ethiopia's population today experiences food insecurity and lives below the poverty line. A comprehensive analysis has been conducted to determine the impact and potential of irrigation farming in Ethiopia. Studies have confirmed the role of irrigation in alleviating poverty and promoting food security. Irrigation plays an important role in poverty reduction in Ethiopia. It can alleviate poverty by improving crop productivity, boosting farmer incomes, providing more employment and a better pay rate and contributing to the national GDP in the long run. Irrigation also promotes food security by contributing to all dimensions such as food availability, access to food, food utilization and stability. The development of the sector is thought to significantly contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) given the significance of irrigation in reducing poverty and hunger. Hence, this study emphasizes the necessity of using the irrigation potential and developing the irrigation sector in order to alleviate the misery of hunger and poverty in the country.

Urban planning plays a pivotal role in guaranteeing the functionality, accessibility, and adaptability of cities to meet the needs of their diverse population and various official and informal economic activities. The primary objective of this work is to investigate the application of machine learning techniques in the identification of optimal places for vegetable vendors within the urban context of Raipur City, India. While logistic regression has been used in previous studies to address issues such as soil erosion, land susceptibility mapping, and identifying potential sites for health facilities and mining exploration, this model has yet to be applied to determining suitable locations for vegetable vendors. This gap in research could be beneficial if addressed, particularly in India, where many city residents rely heavily on vegetable vendors for their dietary needs. The paper’s main focus is on evaluating the reliability of the model and encouraging its implementation in similar scenarios, highlighting its efficiency and adaptability, which are also evaluated in this study. A stratified random sampling technique was implemented to collect data from four different regions of Raipur City. Subsequently, the gathered data was subjected to analysis employing the logistic regression machine learning technique, with the objective of making predictions. The results obtained from the analysis were highly impressive, as the model successfully predicted 44 out of the total 50 locations with an accuracy rate of 88%.

The goal of this research is to come up with a new optical structure for the generation of multilevel pulse amplitude modulation (PAM-4) signalling, which is used for optical interconnects and data center networks. The Fano effect is made with a structure made up of a 4x4 MMI coupler, feedback waveguides, and phase shifters. For the production of PAM-4, we employ the Fano effect. The new proposed approach can reduce power consumption and extend the linear region of the device transfer function compared with conventional approaches based on Mach Zehnder Interferometers (MZI) and ring resonators. We show that an extreme reduction of power consumption of 3 to 30 times, compared with the conventional structure based on MZI and ring resonators, is achieved. In addition, the proposed structure based on silicon wave guides has the advantages of extreme high bandwidth, large fabrication tolerance, and a compact footprint. The proposed structure can be applied to generate the PAM-4 based on the Fano effect with low power consumption, and it is suitable for complex systems with a lot of transceivers. The device is numerically simulated and designed using the Finite Difference Method (FDM) and Finite Difference Time Difference (FDTD). The PAM-4 structure based on silicon waveguides can be compatible with CMOS’s existing technologies.

The primary objective of this study was to investigate the impact of social media influencers' credibility, knowledge, and attractiveness on customers' evaluations of products and services within the domain of social media. This investigation was conducted by utilizing the theoretical framework of source credibility theory. This study also investigates the impact of product appraisal on customers' views about the product and its subsequent influence on their intentions to make a purchase. This study identified three key qualities, including source credibility, product appraisal, and product-influencer fit, which were found to be significant. Additionally, this study also revealed the mediating impact of these characteristics. A web-based survey was administered, and the collected data was subjected to analysis via structural equation modeling (SEM). This study found that out of the three elements of source credibility, trustworthiness was the only one that had a statistically significant impact on product appraisal. The findings from the conducted tests indicate that there was no statistically significant impact of competence and attractiveness on the appraisal of the product. Furthermore, it is important to note that the concept of product-influencer fit played a role as a mediator solely in the association between trustworthiness and product appraisal. Also, a significant correlation was seen between product evaluation and product perception. More importantly, it was determined that the purchase intentions of customers were notably impacted by their perceptions and evaluations of the respective products. Therefore, given the influence of trustworthiness on customers' evaluations of items and their positive brand perceptions, social media influencers could be a reliable and effective medium for disseminating marketing communications to consumers.

Continuous development of Large Scale Integration (LSI) technologies based on Moore's law results in highly developed LSI technologies, as well as very high costs in design and fabrication and high design complexity. This fact prevents various users from contributing to the activities of designing LSIs, fabricating LSIs, and developing Intellectual Properties (IPs). On the other hand, the trend towards open-source has been attracting attention to overcome these problems and extend the potential of LSI technologies. The purpose of this research is to develop an open-source LSI design framework aimed at connecting various layers of LSI knowledge. Its methodology is composed of two parts. One is the development of the LSI design flow using existing open-source EDA tools and their related glue software. The other is the open-source, NDA-free PDK (process design kit) used in designing LSIs. The process of developing and constructing Large Scale Integrated (LSI) circuits within this framework is conducted and assessed. From these trials, the effect of enhancing educational effectiveness on LSI design is indicated. These trials enhanced the contributors’ interest and motivation to understand the details of computer systems and their relation to LSIs. It is also indicated that this framework is effective in enhancing rapid IP development as well as its importance as an educational aspect of open-source software.

This study examined the characteristics that impact students' intentions to use Microsoft Teams as their primary teaching and learning platform. A total of 171 students were randomly selected to complete an electronic questionnaire that tested the constructs of the extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The results indicated that “perceived usefulness” and “attitude” towards the platform together with “perceived ease of use” (R2 = 73.9%) were the most important predictors of students' intention to use Microsoft Teams in the future (R2 = 77.8% and 73.9% respectively). This study recommends lecturers and students communicate more to increase the student’s intrinsic motivation in online learning by incorporating various activities that promote collaboration, communication and active learning in the online environment. Such activities can be facilitated by the platform and can include online discussions, peer review, group projects and collaborative problem-solving tasks. In addition, the study suggests that lecturers should provide more training and support to students on how to use MS Teams effectively to enhance their learning experience.

Numerous practical and mathematical techniques have been piloted to study ships’ behavior in deep water conditions with and without waves, and shallow water conditions without waves, while only limited investigations have been carried out to assess ships’ behavior in shallow waters with wave conditions as the flow around the stern region and appendages and the interaction effects are intricate. Therefore, this study attempts to understand the infrequently explored subset of a vessel’s behavior in regular waves in shallow water conditions (channel depth to ship draft ratio taken as 1.5). A container ship (S175) model scaled at 1:36 was the subject of a numerical study in which it was subjected to static and dynamic maneuver simulations in head sea conditions. The waves were induced using the dispersion relationship of waves in a given depth. The trends of forces and moments acting on the hull while undergoing maneuvering motions were obtained using a smooth particle hydrodynamics-based computational fluid dynamics solver. The resulting periodic trends of forces and moments were analyzed using the Fourier series method to extract the Fourier coefficients and, in turn, calculate the hydrodynamic derivatives. The trajectories in turning circle and zigzag maneuvers were also simulated using a MATLAB code. The results demonstrate an increase in trajectory parameters and improvement in counter maneuverability owing to the complex flow physics around the hull when encountering regular waves in shallow water conditions compared to waves in deep waters and a lack of waves in shallow waters.
