Majority of the IPv6 prefixes are 48 to 64 bits long. Conventional approach that configures the TCAM array to use 144-bit words to store IPv6 prefixes has a rather low space efficiency. Because of the limited number of I/O pins, an 128-bit IPv6 address has to be entered to the TCAM in 2 steps. If the longest matching prefix is only up to 64 bits, it may not be necessary to process the second half of the IP address. In this paper, we propose a two-level routing table organization in TCAM that can reduce the space requirement and speed up the lookup time by 40% or more. Our method is compatible with commercially available TCAM devices

More companies build the next generation networks for developing applications, it gives birth to more solutions and products for the needs of the market. The voice email system is definitely one of them and it becomes another trend for the technology savvy users. The voice email system becomes a starting point of the voice browsing technologies over the phone where there is a wide spreading of applications and services from different areas, such as stock trading and voice conferencing

The number of action devices is currently increasing. If the trade environments are not safe, both the development and the progress of electronic trade will be affected. As well as security issues, the handoff procedure incurs long latency and packet loss. Smooth handoff can not only lower the packet loss but also reduce the level of the out-of-sequence packets. So far, very little attention has been given to the Internet key exchange for encryption in mobile network. This study examines Internet key exchange in smooth handoff for mobile IPv6 network and compares the proposed method with the classic smooth handoff technologies. It shows that the proposed solution is more efficient in mobile IPv6 networks

Traditional management solutions have not taken any management coverage on the OS-absent phase, which is composed of two subphases; out-of-service and out-of-band. This is because those management solutions use agents on the OS, which are fatefully dependent on the state of the OS. An effective out-of-band management solution enables remote "lights out" management infrastructure and logical consolidation of data centers. Using this infrastructure, we can deal remotely with most cases of dispatching engineers for high availability and serviceability and then dramatically reduce management costs. In this paper, we present the platform management provider which offers a standardized approach to enhancing manageability during the OS-absent phase as well as OS-resident phase

Recently, motivated by users demands for higher mobility and bandwidth, there are active researches on 4G systems. The requirements of 4G systems are all-IP based networks with cellular architecture and IP mobility supports to users. In this network, the L2 handoff scheme should be designed carefully and consider the L3 handoff scheme to reduce the handoff latency. The L2 and L3 handoff schemes in current wireless networks are performed separately, keeping the layer independence, which results in longer handoff latency. In this paper, we analyze handoff schemes of current wireless networks and design the handoff scheme for a 4G system including a handoff detection method. An integration method of the FMIPv6 protocol with the proposed L2 handoff scheme is also proposed, which can reduce the handoff latency and the number of control messages exchanged between the MN and the network

As quality-guaranteed services, such as voice and streaming services, are required over Internet, traffic engineering based on an MPLS technology is being introduced. In MPLS traffic engineering, information related with service's quality requirements is forwarded through routers on a quality-guaranteed path by an MPLS signaling protocol. Routers on the quality-guaranteed path forward traffic for the specific service under the control by its predefined quality requirements. As one of MPLS signaling protocols, RSVP-TE protocol transmits and processes periodic protocol messages for maintaining the soft state of a quality-guaranteed path. Such characteristic gives a heavy processing overhead to routers for maintaining states of large number of paths. In this paper, we implement a scalable and load-efficient RSVP-TE without dramatically increasing processing overhead. And we evaluate the processing overhead on periodic messages by implementing the RSVP-TE protocol and the reduction mechanism of periodic messages

Semantic Web is getting popular to next Web environment. Additionally, ontology language research is also activating to represent semantic relation of resource in semantic Web. Specially, ontology languages as RDF and DAML+OIL appear on starting point of researches. But ontology language limited to describing characteristics of resource and to making a clear definition of relation of resource. So W3C suggest OWL at the next standard language for describing resource. OWL supplies the lack of representation for RDF and RDF schema. In this paper, we make ontology to implement online news retrieval system using OWL and we propose the structure of storing ontology document at the RDB. The structure support characters of OWL that are equivalent relationship, heterogeneous relationship, inverse relationship, union relationship and one of relationship between classes or properties. In this paper, we implement the storage and retrieval system for online news based on OWL to test our research

WRC-2003 resolved a resolution 141 to review the provisions of current PFD limits in the band 17.7-19.7 GHz for satellite systems using highly inclined orbits (HIO), and adopted a related agenda item 1.18 in preparation for next WRC meeting. In order to review whether the current PFD masks are appropriate to protect terrestrial fixed service (FS) from HIO satellites, analyses of received interference levels of FS station from the emission of HIO satellites were carried out using three kinds of HIO systems, such as MOLNYA, VIRGO, and NSAT type systems. As a preliminary result of the study, this paper suggests an adequate PFD limit mask to protect Korean FS stations from the interference due to emission of such HIO satellites
