This paper discusses the practise of rites of passage in Lutheran communities in Serra dos Tapes, a southern region in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The main rites hence elucidated are Baptism, Confirmation, Marriage and Burial, distinguishing the ruptures and changes in social and religious context of the individuals analysed. The rites of passage are going to be conceptually based on the field of Anthropology (Rodolpho, 2004). The main focus of the study is on the rite of Confirmation, which, linked to the Protestant ethic (Weber, 2004), resulted in early school evasion in order for the individuals to dedicate to work, since Church teachings proclaimed work evaluation as substantial for human development.

as an arbitrary economic system, capitalism precipitates conflicts, manufactures enemies, imposes languages, aesthetics, policies, interpersonal relationships, cultural and social behaviors that in many circumstances are equally perverse and relentlessly intransigent, reactive, repressive and reductionist. My Name is Khan, a film released in 2010 under the direction of Karan Johar, serves as a panel to illustrate and, through verisimilitude, expose how these processes of curtailing sociological imagination, perspectives and socio-cultural relations can occur within political and economic empires. By telling the fictional story of Rizwan Khan, a Muslim man who suffers from Asperger's Syndrome and tries his luck in the city of San Francisco, the plot demonstrates the rise of prejudice against Arabs, the intensification of religious intolerance against Islam and the exacerbation of American nationalism that occurred after the attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. This essay reflects on these issues, on the direct links between imperialism and intolerant conceptions of the world, in order to criticize the financial system which, among other evils, also gives rise to summary types of violence.

The article analyzes the intellectual production of students of the Sciences of Religion Course at the University of the State of Pará, in particular, that which emerges from the Course Completion Works, from 2004 to 2019. It investigates the privileged themes and the space they occupy the religions of the Amazon in these works. It results from a bibliographic research in the style of studies on the state of knowledge, whose objective is to analyze the intellectual production of a given area of knowledge, in this case the Sciences of Religion. Theoretically, it is based on the ideas of Candau (2003) and Fleuri (2006) on interculturality, understood as a way to build a more democratic society that respects cultural diversity. It concludes that most of these productions do not encompass the local religious diversity, which is why it highlights the need for more research that focuses on the religions of the Amazon.

Environmental issues are on the agenda of major global confrontations; however many conservative governments have developed erratic policies on the issue. These governments have broad support from religious groups. In parallel, there is a discrediting of scientific information about environmental threats, especially through the internet. It is proposed that science may have religion as an ally, so it must be demonstrated that religious texts may indicate the need to harmonize with nature, especially in Christian belief groups. Science can make available evidence-based information on environmental threats, and religion can make its force and social energy available to change its thinking.

In this interview, Mark Sedgwick delves into his new book, Traditionalism: The Radical Project for Restoring Sacred Order, offering a thematic exploration that shifts focus from individuals to ideas within the Traditionalist movement. He discusses the role of Traditionalism in contemporary Western politics, emphasizing its impact on intellectual and political spheres. Addressing the contemporary intellectual climate, Sedgwick mentions the concept of 'metapolitics' - a Gramscian concept that asserts changing thought patterns precedes altering the world. Sedgwick examines the growth of Traditionalism and its dissemination through modern mediums, such as the internet, assessing this ideology that criticizes Modernity. Touching on the presence of Traditionalism in Brazil, he discusses its alignment with political movements and individuals like Olavo de Carvalho. The interview delves into Traditionalism's connections with Islam and duginism. Sedgwick warns against oversimplifying the ideological landscape, stressing that references to figures like René Guénon should be critically evaluated. Sedgwick also addresses Traditionalism's criticism of liberalism and democracy, which encompasses a wide ideological spectrum. He underscores the necessity of recognizing these nuances to navigate the complex world of Traditionalism.

This article deals with the process of developing the rights of the Human Person at the heart of the Social Doctrine of the Catholic Church. Based on a historical analysis, we seek to map the consolidation of some foundations that compose and base the Isd, as is the case of Emmanuel Mounier's Personalist principle. In dialogue with theologians and philosophers, an analysis is undertaken on deceit-defaced sides, such as the concept of Person and Relationship.

The emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic has had an unprecedented impact on the socialization, work, and daily life of billions of people around the world. The pandemic has not only affected individuals' health and physical integrity, but has also transformed the world as we know it. Due to the necessary social distancing and isolation measures to reduce the contamination rate, the authorities have been forced to restrict circulation and enforce the use of masks, making it impossible to gather in large groups, including religious celebrations. The article aims to discuss the limits of the restriction of the right to religious freedom concerning the needs of protecting public health during the pandemic, and the role of the Brazilian Supreme Court in these circumstances. The methodology used in this study includes the analysis of relevant judicial decisions and a literature review to study the essential content of religious freedom and its limits.
