Home energy management system over low-power narrowband PLC 基于低功耗窄带PLC的家庭能源管理系统

The need for efficient use of energy has inspired intelligent load control strategies in the home area network (HAN) using the power of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). This paper investigates the use of low-power Narrowband Power Line Communication (NPLC) to support home energy management system (HEMS). Compared with low power wireless systems, it will be shown that using low-power Narrowband PLC (NPLC), packet success rate can be improved by approximately 85.32%, 208% and 85.32% in dense, sparse and large networks respectively. These results imply that low power NPLC is a feasible alternative for HEMS where low power wireless network is limited or inadequate.

Perfluorinated polymer optical fiber for precision strain sensing based on novel SMS fiber structure 基于新型SMS光纤结构的精密应变传感全氟聚合物光纤

This paper presents an experimental investigation of a novel strain sensor based on a single-mode-multimode-single-mode (SMS) fiber structure using perfluorinated graded index polymer optical fiber as the multimode fiber section. The experimental results showed that the strain sensitivity is as high as 101 pm/με, which is 16 times higher than those obtained in silica multimode fiber based on SMS fiber structure.

Encrypted audio communication design using synchronized discrete-time hyperchaotic maps 使用同步离散时间超混沌映射的加密音频通信设计

In this paper, encrypted audio communications based on synchronization of two coupled discrete-time hyperchaotic systems in master-slave configuration is studied. A theoretical approach to nonlinear control design, based on aggregation techniques associated to one specific characteristic matrix description, namely, the arrow form, is developed. Numerical simulations are carried out to assess the performance of the proposed contribution in the important field of secure communication.

A RSSI-based indoor visible light positioning approach 基于rssi的室内可见光定位方法

We propose a positioning approach based on the monotone signals of the multiple transmitting LEDs and the FFT at the receiver. The position of the receiver can be estimated based on the least-squares (LS) criterion. One advantage of the proposed approach lies in that the receiver does not need the knowledge of the transmission power, in order to estimate the link gain between the transmitter and the receiver. Moreover, the proposed approach does not need perfect synchronization of the received signal from different LEDs, since only signal intensities at different frequency points are needed for the positioning method.

In this paper, a review on radio-over-fiber (RoF) technology is conducted to support the exploding growth of mobile broadband. An RoF system will provide a platform for distributed antenna system (DAS) as a fronthaul of long term evolution (LTE) technology. A higher splitting ratio from a macrocell is required to support large DAS topology, hence higher optical launch power (OLP) is the right approach. However, high OLP generates undesired nonlinearities, namely the stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS). Three different aspects of solving the SBS process are covered in this paper, where the solutions ultimately provided an additional 4 dB link budget.

Data encryption with chaotic Colpitts oscillators via power supply modulation 数据加密与混沌科尔皮茨振荡器通过电源调制

In this work we present numerical investigations for a simple data modulating technique employing Colpitts electronic oscillator models operating in the chaotic regime. The procedure includes a low amplitude half-wave rectified sinusoidal function on top of power supply terms, which acts as a message embedded data. We show how the suggested method does not take away the transmitter's chaotic dynamics or the unidirectional complete chaotic synchronisation achieved. Advantages are in form of straightforward implementation that does not require hardware modifications as well as information recovery based on a simple subtraction. The proposed methodology can be applied to either positive or negative power supply. Traces of embedded data in the transmitted chaotic carrier cannot be spotted in time or frequency domain. In consequence the proposed method falls in the category of chaotic inclusion or embedding techniques but without requiring complex and computationally expensive left inversion protocols.

Modulation schemes effect on the driver efficiency and the global VLC transmitter energy consumption 调制方式对驱动效率和全局VLC发射机能耗有影响

Visible Light Communications (VLC) make the most of the fast switching times of LEDs to transmit information. High transmission rates have been achieved with different modulation schemes as CSK or OFDM. However, the main asset of LED lamps, which is energy efficiency, has been overlooked. In this paper we analye how the modulation schemes affect the energy efficiency of LED lamps. We compare the effect of switched waveform (OOK, VPPM) and continuous waveform (OFDM) modulation schemes. Switched waveform signals present energy efficiency results between 15% and 30% better than continuous waveform signals.

Nano-plasmonic thin-film solar cell receiver in visible light communication 可见光通信中的纳米等离子体薄膜太阳能电池接收器

We propose a nano-plasmonic thin-film solar cell (TFSC) as a receiver for the visible light communication (VLC). The presented design is a novel and optimized structure that can be used instead of photodetectors and power supplies in the VLC. The plasmonic TFSC that described in this work is capable of increasing the light absorption in comparison with the conventional thick Si solar cell without plasmonic nanostructures. However, plasmonic nanoparticles can improve the absorption of Si solar cell in a visible range of solar spectra. In this paper, different situations for inserting nanoparticles in an active layer are considered and the absorption is calculated as a function of particle size, particle location, and particle number, in order to account for all possible cases within the active layer.

Comparison of LED illumination patterns for camera based car to car communications 基于摄像头的汽车与车载通信LED照明模式的比较

In this paper a comparison between a spiral and a strip shaped LED is presented in terms of the maximum link distance achievable in visible light based car to car communications (VLC-C2C). The transmitted data is recovered from the frame brightness of the video signal. The intensity modulated LED is captured from two scenarios, using a focused and unfocused camera. A data rate of 180 bps with the bit error rate performance below the FEC limit of 10-3 at a distance of 100 cm is successfully achieved, sufficient for transmitting road safety messages for VLC-C2C. It is shown that under the same conditions, the strip LED can effectively recover the data from a greater distance than its spiral counterpart.

Propagation delay stabilization to address fast and slow delay changes 传播延迟稳定,以解决快速和缓慢的延迟变化

We propose and demonstrate a combination of two methods to stabilize end-to-end delay of an optical fiber link. Temperature conditioning method effectively compensates large slow delay changes while wavelength tuning compensates fast delay jitter. We present our measurement data for three basic telecommunication optical fibers. We summarize design rules for delay jitter stabilization based on character and total delay jitter.
