Accounting education has been a topic of great concern to scholars, and teachers of accounting want to enhance students’ learning performance. Thus, in this study, we conducted laboratory experiments to investigate how mastery/performance achievement goal orientations influence the accounting performance of students. Ninety undergraduates from Tainan Technology University participated in this study. The experiment examined how the type of student achievement goal and the test time influenced accounting performance. A two-way between-participants factorial design of achievement goal (mastery vs. performance) × test time (30 vs. 40 vs. 50 min) was adopted. The results of students’ score changes from pre-test to post-test revealed that those students with a mastery achievement goal had a better learning effect than those with a performance achievement goal. The main effect of test time also showed a significant difference. The score change in the low-difficulty condition (longest time) was significantly higher than that in the moderate-difficulty condition (intermediate amount of time), and the score change in the moderate-difficulty condition was significantly higher than that in the high-difficulty condition (shortest time). Lastly, the two-way interaction of achievement goal type and test time was significant. The effect of test difficulty on score change was contingent on the type of achievement goal.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the semantic issues and problems related to nouns that some translators in their translation of the Holy Quran, couldn't translate it successfully such as Abdullah Yusuf and Souleymane Kanté. Although they did a great effort and their translation is successful but they fail to convey the meaning to some nouns. The researcher tried to introduce some suggestions to improve translation of nouns in the Holy Quran by explaining some of these issues, and not to undermine these translations. As the terminology of the Quran reflects the history of the rise of a monotheistic religion in Arabia, the terminology of its translation into Maninka reflects the long history of islamization of the Manding-speaking peoples, Souleymane Kanté's translation as an example. On the other hand, some Arabic translations to English are also available, Abdullah Yusuf's translation as an example. The researcher investigated troubles these two translators face in translating the Holy Quran by providing some examples. It was clear that Yusufs' translation based on finding equivalent of nouns of the Quran in the target culture which is not always available, while Kante's translation based on that there are many words in the target language which can stand for any noun in the Holy Quran. The researcher concludes that Kante's translation is better and more professional because languages develops and translators must always find equivalent words in the target culture to convey the meaning they are seeking to explain.

Educational research skill which is considered as a component of professional development competence of Vietnamese teachers, is an indicator of the Vietnamese teacher professional competences standards approved by the Ministry of Education and Training. Many activities have been organizing to enhance the teacher research skills in Vietnamese schools. The article deals with the possibilities of the incorporation of action research – a form of educational research – into teacher professional development; shows a relative status of Vietnamese teachers’ competence on action research; and thus, proposes some orientations on promoting teacher professional development through developing action research skills in Vietnamese schools.

This study aimed at revealing the role of digital libraries in enhancing the knowledge economy in Jordanian universities. To achieve this objective, the study instrument was constructed exemplified with a questionnaire, where the sample consisted of (19) items in final form. Having verified their validity and reliability, they were applied to a random sample of 370 students from three universities, namely: Yarmouk, Jordan University of Science and Technology and Al Albayt University in the northern region of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. After applying the study instrument to the sample, the data were entered into SPSS programs for analysis, as the results revealed that there is an intermediate role for digital libraries in enhancing knowledge economies. On the other hand, the results revealed that there are no statistically significant differences due to gender and college variables in the role of Jordanian digital libraries in enhancing the knowledge economy in Jordanian universities from the students’ perspectives. In light of the previous results, the researcher recommended the need to raise awareness about the significance of digital libraries in enhancing the knowledge economy. He also recommended that more studies be conducted on this subject through the application of other segments and comparing the results to achieve an integrated vision of the role of digital libraries in the service of knowledge economies.
