Microwave imaging of artificially induced magnetic anomalies: a feasibility study 人工磁异常的微波成像:可行性研究

The demand of effective, low cost and portable diagnostic tools for large scale preventive screening has addressed a huge interest in microwave imaging techniques. Moreover, the recently demonstrated capability of selectively targeting magnetic nanoparticles opens the way for new imaging strategies, that exploit nanoparticles as contrast agent. As a matter of fact, due to the nonmagnetic nature of human tissues, this artificially induced magnetic contrast can be exploited to enhance the response of small and hardly detectable anomalies. In this respect, two microwave imaging strategies, devoted to characterize magnetic targets embedded into an electric scenario, are proposed and a preliminary assessment of their reconstruction capabilities is given.

Estimation of the permittivity of dielectrics from the scattering responses of TEM waveguides 从透射电镜波导的散射响应估计介电介质的介电常数

This paper addresses the de-embedding of the propagation function of waveguides from the scattering responses of setups composed of TEM waguides terminated by launchers that introduce generic discontinuities. The de-embedding is aimed at estimating the permittivity of dielectric samples from the scattering responses of waveguides including the samples. The de-embedding is based on the double-delay method [2], that is applied to setups involving different launchers. A modified version of the method is also proposed to facilitate the measurement process.

Improvement in the stopband of a microwave lowpass filter utilizing resonance structures 利用共振结构改进微波低通滤波器的阻带

Different strategies have been suggested to improve the stop band of microwave lowpass filters and to suppress the spurious responses in the stop band. Resonance structures can be utilized in various microwave applications to improve the performance. In this article, a special form of a resonance structure is introduced which assists in achieving a deep stop band for microwave LP filters. Simulations are presented to support the usefulness of the structure suggested.

A novel compact multiband planar antenna for wireless and mobile handsets 一种用于无线和移动手持设备的新型紧凑型多波段平面天线

In this paper, a novel printed compact multiband planar antenna is proposed for wireless and mobile handsets. The radiating patch of this antenna is designed jointly with the shape of the ground plane. This antenna covers the 3G Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS; 1920–2170 MHz), Bluetooth (2400–2484 MHz), Wi-Fi (2400–2484, 4900–5000, 5150–5250, 5150–5350, 5470–5725 MHz] and Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access [Wimax; [(2400–2600), (3400–3600)] MHz]. The features of each band can be easily optimized by tuning the position, shape, and size of the embedded slots in the radiating patch, and the height of substrate. This antenna performances were optimized using CST simulator and were validated using Ansoft HFSS.

Multi-stage PIC receiver with decision thresholds over rayleigh fading channel 基于瑞利衰落信道的判决阈值多级PIC接收机

Parallel interference cancellation (PIC) is a family of low complexity multi-user detection methods for DS/CDMA systems. The performance of the multistage PIC depends on the decision function used in the interference cancellation. In this paper, we propose to provide the performance of PIC receiver using Xha function ‘clipping’ with respect to decision threshold value. The decision threshold determines how much MAI is to be cancelled with hard decision and high probability. Otherwise, we used a soft bit decision to cancel only the interference of unreliable users form the received signal. This approach is original compared to PIC receiver with decision thresholds using null zone hard decision. It is shown that the proposed detector performs well under realistic conditions, particularly in the case of error optimisation of decision threshold value.

Simulation and analysis of performance of indoor meshed ZigBee networks 室内网状ZigBee网络性能仿真与分析

In this paper, system simulation for indoor meshed ZigBee networks is presented. The behavior of the radio channel is evaluated by means of 3D ray tracing algorithms that have been developed in order to analyze interference in a scenario of coexistence of two ZigBee meshed networks which are adjacent one to the other by electromagnetic transparent wall conditions. As a result, coverage plots, EVM values and SNR relations are obtained in the simulation space. The result aid in modeling the behavior ZigBee systems in indoor environments, as well as in adequate planning of large sensor networks based on ZigBee.

A rigorous Wiener-Hopf solution is derived for the analysis of coaxial waveguides with dielectric filled semi-infinite grooves in the inner and outer conductors. Such discontinuities can serve useful impedance matching functions in microwave circuits and may exhibit band stop filter characteristics.

Performance improvements for optical links applying semiconductor optical amplifiers 应用半导体光放大器的光链路性能改进

The transmission properties of optical links carrying subcarrier channels are strongly affected by fiber dispersion, fiber nonlinearity and reflections. An approach is presented here to reduce the chromatic dispersion-induced distortions. This new method is based on the interplay of the fiber nonlinearity and the intensity dependent phase modulation in the semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA). Theoretical and experimental results are demonstrated for optical links with different length. The results show that the frequency notches caused by the dispersion-induced carrier suppression effect may be sharply alleviated and the transmitted digital signal performance can be improved.

Perturbation method based on resonant type metamaterial transmission lines for dual-band matching networks 双频匹配网络中基于谐振型超材料传输线的摄动方法

This paper is focused on a perturbation method that allows designing dual-band impedance matching networks for applications where the frequency bands are very close. Such networks are based on resonant type metamaterial transmission lines, namely, artificial lines consisting on a host propagating medium loaded with electrically small resonators. These resonators can be tailored in order to obtain the design requirements of the network, which are not achievable through conventional lines. The main aim of this work is to demonstrate that a perturbation method can be successfully used when the operating frequencies are very close.

In this work we present a microwaves circuit electromagnetic simulator. It is fundamentally based on the 3D self-consistent numerical solution of the Maxwell's equations and the macroscopic conservation equations derived from the transport equation of Boltzmann. It can include linear electrical elements. As an illustration, it is applied to the simulation of a microstrip transmission line and the Distributed IMPact ionisation and Avalanche and Transit Time (DIMPATT) diode.
