mm-wave CMOS mixer design in 65 nm technology for 60 GHz wireless communications 65纳米技术的毫米波CMOS混频器设计,用于60 GHz无线通信

The goal of this work is to study the design feasibility of an integrated dual-gate MOSFET mixer by using 65nm CMOS technology. The obtained results show a good potential for 65 nm CMOS technology and justify the feasibility of this mixer for wireless communication applications around 60 GHz. These obtained results are compared with the state of the art of some achievements in this field.

Compact internal antenna for multi standard operations in the mobile phone 紧凑的内部天线,适用于移动电话的多标准操作

In this paper, the authors will discuss different design of a multiband compact antenna for the integration into the new multi function mobile phones. The antenna is matched to operate at GSM 920 MHz, WI-Fi 2.4 Ghz and HiperLan 5.1 GHz standards with low SAR levels. Return loss coefficient and radiation pattern of this antenna are computed in free space as well as in the presence of head. The specific absorption rate (SAR) of the planar antenna is calculated and compared with that of the monopole antenna. To examine the performance of this antenna, a prototype was designed, fabricated and measured; the simulation analysis was performed using the HFSS software, good agreement with the simulation providing validation of the design procedure.

Resonant frequency of a microstrip antenna on a uniaxial electric superstrate 单轴电铺层微带天线的谐振频率

In this paper, we study the effects of the uniaxial permittivity anisotropy of the substrate, on the resonant frequency and the bandwidth of a rectangular microstrip antenna of the structure as: substrate; patch; superstrate. The problem is rigorously formulated by using the integral equation based on the dyadic spectral Green's function. To obtain the complex resonant frequency of mode TM01, the method of Galerkin have been used to solve the integral equation, by choosing sinusoidal basis functions. The results obtained are compared with the isotropic substrate case.

Bandpass filters can be made with cascaded coupled line sections, but to get a sharper cutoff bandpass filter the number of sections must be increased, which increases the filter loss and size. In addition, to get a wider bandwidth filters, tightly coupled lines are required, which are difficult to fabricate. On the other side a compact bandpass filter means the lowest number of sections with small size. This paper presents a technique to design a compact microstrip X-band bandpass filter using two sections and a stub to have a compact size, good sharpness on the sides, and small loss. Experimental prototype filters have been designed and measurement results show improved performance compared with the other regular cascaded coupled line bandpass filters.

A compact rectangular Dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is presented for ultra wide band communication systems. Ansoft HFSS 3-D electromagnetic solver is used for the design optimization. The proposed antenna has a low profile (∼3), a small size and a low permittivity constant (10.2). An impedance bandwidth about 46% (from 6.9 to 11 GHz) was achieved making this antenna suitable for DS-UWB high band (i.e. 6 to 10.1 GHz) applications.

a new current mirror based all-pass, tunable phase shifter architecture is proposed in 0.18um CMOS, after a brief introduction on phase shifter applications, and comparison between different implementation methods. In the new current-mode approach the cut-off frequency of transistor is the operational limit of the proposed phase-shifter architecture and power consumption for this design is 80 microwatts. Simulations are carried out in HSpice and cover a frequency range from 1MHz to 50 GHz.

Wave propagation properties in stacked SRR/CSRR metasurfaces at microwave frequencies 微波频率下叠加SRR/CSRR超表面的波传播特性

In this paper, we study wave propagation in stacked SRR/CSRR metasurfaces at microwave frequencies. Computation of the dispersion diagram of both metasurfaces highlights the possibility to obtain forward and backward waves, respectively. The backward waves can be achieved only at the quasi-static resonance in case of stacked CSRRs metasurfaces and provided the longitudinal lattice is small enough. The experimental results for both structures show a good agreement with the computed ones. The physics underlying the left-handed behavior is found to rely on electroinductive waves, playing the interplate capacitive coupling the major role to explain the phenomenon.

An 18Ghz LNA Ga FET high gain amplifier for WLAN 用于WLAN的18Ghz LNA FET高增益放大器

In this article we design a novel ka band low noise amplifier with high stability. in this design Ga FET used to high gain and low noise figure and conditional and unconditional stability. We applied a low noise cost solution for various Ka band receivers such as P-to-P radio, WLAN and UWB sensors. Finally circuit layout with ADS software is presented and very low noise figure about 1.3dB and about 16dB gain was taken.

Multi-stage PIC receiver with decision thresholds over rayleigh fading channel 基于瑞利衰落信道的判决阈值多级PIC接收机

Parallel interference cancellation (PIC) is a family of low complexity multi-user detection methods for DS/CDMA systems. The performance of the multistage PIC depends on the decision function used in the interference cancellation. In this paper, we propose to provide the performance of PIC receiver using Xha function ‘clipping’ with respect to decision threshold value. The decision threshold determines how much MAI is to be cancelled with hard decision and high probability. Otherwise, we used a soft bit decision to cancel only the interference of unreliable users form the received signal. This approach is original compared to PIC receiver with decision thresholds using null zone hard decision. It is shown that the proposed detector performs well under realistic conditions, particularly in the case of error optimisation of decision threshold value.

This paper addresses the de-embedding of the propagation function of waveguides from the scattering responses of setups composed of TEM waguides terminated by launchers that introduce generic discontinuities. The de-embedding is aimed at estimating the permittivity of dielectric samples from the scattering responses of waveguides including the samples. The de-embedding is based on the double-delay method [2], that is applied to setups involving different launchers. A modified version of the method is also proposed to facilitate the measurement process.
