This study aims to investigate students’ learning engagement during the pandemic. A mixed method design was used by combining a questionnaire and in-depth interviews. The quantitative data analysis used descriptive statistics and the Likert scale. The qualitative data analysis used thematic analysis technique. The findings indicate that most aspects of learning engagement are reasonably feasible, but there is a need to reduce the learning workload. The in-depth interviews of the online technology utility are effective to some degree. Internet network should be improved, the workload and the duration on the phone screens should be reduced to make students less exhausted.

East Timur Village has pristine mangrove areas. It has much potential that can be developed, one of which is mangrove ecotourism which is directly managed by the people of East Kurau Village. Mangrove ecotourism still need to optimize its potential tourism destination object. The research aims to formulate a development strategy for Mangrove Ecotourism in East Kurau Village, Koba District, Central Bangka Regency. The research uses a qualitative approach with IFAS (Internal Factors Analysis Strategy) and EFAS (External Factors Analysis Strategy). The data is collected through in-depth interviews with related stakeholders, questionnaires distributed to tourists, and field observations. Moreover, the indicators used to measure the data include accessibility, infrastructure, and other supporting aspects. The ecotourism strategy is answered using the SWOT analysis method. The results from matrix calculations of IFAS and EFAS show that the value of the X-axis was 0.93 and of the Y-axis was 0.88. This indicates that the strategic position was at the quadrant I, with the strategic formulation of S-O (aggressive strategy). Some strategies have been formulated, including: Supporting mangrove conservation and creative economic business management; Establishing cooperation in providing supporting infrastructure; Optimizing cooperation in providing education on the benefits of mangroves; and Increasing the government’s commitment to mangrove development.

Studies on destination attributes mainly focused on the motivation or experience of tourists and their relation to these attributes. Therefore, in-depth reports are required to fully understand tourism villages as destinations, particularly in relation to the factors that contribute to their success. This study aimed to (1) identify tourism products in tourism villages, (2) identify the determinants of tourism destination attributes, and (3) recommend efforts to improve the management of destination attributes in developing as tourism villages. A qualitative approach was used which was conducted at Kuta Village, Lombok, in 2022. The results showed the tourism products in Kuta Village are the local population's natural landscape, culture, and hospitality. The determining factors that support the management of destination products were strategic locations, various tourist attractions and activities, availability of amenities, as well as good accessibility. However, the village managers needed to address essential issues, such as parking facilities, transportation, and limited skilled personnel in providing services to tourists. This study recommended three steps for managing destination attributes, namely training in sustainable home stay management, improving tourism-supporting facilities and infrastructure, as well as regulating physical infrastructure and accessibility. Moreover, there were arguments (insights) regarding the existence of a village as a destination with the management of attributes and determinants. These served as the key to the successful management of tourism destination.

Cultural tourism has become the doctrine of tourism development in many countries. Various local commodities have been transformed into tourist attractions to satisfy the curiosity of tourists. Unfortunately, cultural tourism in many destinations tends to be exclusive, where its activities focus on presenting artificial cultural attractions that are packaged for tourists. This article describes the best practice of how France has succeeded in developing a culture-based tourism sector amidst the demands of modernization and industrialization. Through a qualitative descriptive approach, data and information were collected from observation, literacy studies, and interviews. The authors conducted a thematic analysis to portray a culture-based French tourism model. The analysis results conclude that French tourism is firmly supported by a wealth of culture and traditions that have long been rooted in people's lives.

One tourist village in the Temanggung Regency area is the Petarangan tourist village. The beginning of the establishment of this tourist village was due to seeing the tourism potential there. The development to become a tourism village begins with a potential analysis in 2021, and then the local tourism authority will assess the village in 2022. The tourism awareness group (Pokdarwis) has a positive view of the community about how the activities their members carry out can influence people to start participating in it as an effort to care for tourism in Petarangan Village. The research finds out how interpersonal communication from Pokdarwis could increase the quality of tourism village products. Using a descriptive qualitative method focuses on the phenomenon of interpersonal communication used by stakeholders in that village. Data was taken by using questionnaires, interviews and checklists. All data were analyzed descriptively by considering the data validity through triangulation. The activities are about how the stakeholders communicate about the activities to develop the product. The medias used are electronic media and printed media. The message is almost about asking all stakeholders to participate. The role of Pokdarwis members is to get more members. So, community power plays an important role. It was found that interpersonal among the pokdarwis, stakeholders and community have been suitable for Pokdarwis in developing their tourism products.
