The Impact of the Background Knowledge and the Friendship Closeness on the Team Creativity in a Realtime Creativity Support Groupware 实时创造力支持群件中背景知识和友谊亲密度对团队创造力的影响

Team creativity is a key resource for developing a successful product or service. Creativity support groupware was invented to elevate a team creativity by providing interactive data visualizations, stimulating creative ideas by applying creativity techniques, and breaking communication barriers over the geographic distances and the different time availabilities. Team characteristics, which are the traits of a team combined from the traits of individual members, have strong impacts to the team creativity through a groupware use. The team characteristics can be wisely adjusted for achieving a higher degree of team creativity. This study examined the impacts of team characteristics, i.e., the background knowledge, the difference of background knowledge, the friendship closeness, and the difference of friendship closeness among team members, to the team creativity. Based on the statistic of the 90 KJ charts constructed by 30 innovation teams supported by a KJ Method groupware, the best team formation for the highest team creativity performance consists of team members who have high background knowledge in problems under consideration, and have the same level of friendship regardless the amount of its level.

Why Web-Based Pseudo Relevance Feedback Systems Fail 为什么基于web的伪相关反馈系统会失败

We review pseudo-relevance feedback as a mechanism for expanding short texts. Where short texts exhibit evolving concepts, topics and other characteristics, Web-based feedback systems were touted as the most ideal way of enriching the feature space of short texts. However, we note from a recent implementation of a Web-based pseudo-relevance feedback that it would only perform well under clinical situations. Further improvements to address fundamental noise in Web documents did not show significant improvements leading us to conclude that relevance feedback using Web documents directly are unsuitable for real-world conditions. In this paper, we present Eddi, which is a recent system that provides an exemplar of a typical pseudo-relevance feedback system. We first show the conditions in which Eddi will work and then discuss the situations where it would fail. We then present the variations to Eddi from our attempt to improve the robustness of Eddi's algorithm when dealing with complex Web documents. We then present the results from all variations to show the lack of robustness for pseudo-relevance feedback with Web documents.

Feature Selection Based on Audience's Behavior for Information Filtering in Online Social Networks 基于受众行为的在线社交网络信息过滤特征选择

Nowadays, online social networks (OSNs) become a part of human life. People use the OSNs for different purposes such as working, entertainment and so on. However, existing OSNs feed too much information into an audience's social network page without recognized the audience's situation or the audience's desire. This problem, called information overload, is a weak point of current OSNs. Our ultimate goal is to change traditional feeding information used in existing OSNs to a new type of feeding information by filtering out inconsistent information with the audience's situation. Therefore, this paper aims to prepare necessary features used in filtering information to get consistent information with the audience's situation. We also study behavior of audience in several aspects by analysis characteristic of post. The result indicates that three features are essential for the audience's decision to allow a post to be displayed on the audience's social network page, which are n1 (topic of post), n0 (audience's current situation), and n2 (type of relationship between audience and creator). Furthermore, other factors such as the number of times which a post is reviewed by the audience, age and, career have an impact on the audience's decision.

A Framework of an Extended Reading Passage Grading System for Personalised English Learning 面向个性化英语学习的扩展阅读文章评分体系框架

An extended version of reading passage grading system is presented in this paper. Weakness of the previous work has been resolved by additional feature and assisting components. It applies four linguistic features: average amount of syllable, difficulty of vocabulary, combination of clause usage and a frequency of voice and tense. POS tagging is composed into a system to help on ambiguity issue in polysemy issue, clause and voice-tense recognising. Neural network is selected to generate a passage statistical model while students' model is exploited to represent student's individual preference. The user interface of the system is designed for the use as assisting tool for supporting a student-centred learning in English class.

Practical Improvements of the Technological Idea Production Method Using Patent Knowledge 利用专利知识的技术创意生产方法的实践改进

Technological problems included in many social problems are desired to be solved. We proposed a technological idea production method for making inventions relating to an apparatus in 2011. We tried to improve and disseminate the idea production method in the local society. Attention was directed to ways to acquire relevant knowledge to produce ideas. Experiment results reveal that the idea production method is useful to people as students other than patent professionals. The technological idea production method encouraged participants in our activities in the local society to produce technological ideas.

Activity Recognition Using Context-Aware Infrastructure Ontology in Smart Home Domain 基于上下文感知基础结构本体的智能家居领域活动识别

Nowadays, activity recognition has been proposed in several researches. It is attractive to improve the ability of the activity recognition system because existing research on activity recognition systems still have an error in an ambiguous cases. In this paper, we introduce the novel technique to improve the activity recognition system in smart home domain. We propose the three contributions in this research. Firstly, we design the context-aware infrastructure ontology for modelling the user's context in the smart home. The innovative data, human posture, is added into the user's context for reducing the ambiguous cases. Secondly, we propose the concepts to distinguish the activities by object-based and location-based concepts. We also present the description logic (DL) rules for making the human activity decision based on our proposed concepts. Lastly, We conduct the Ontology Based Activity Recognition (OBAR) system for two purposes: to recognize the human activity, and to search the semantic information in the system, called semantic ontology search (SOS) system. The results show the system can recognize the human activity correctly and also reduce the ambiguous case.
