. Background. There is very little information on the productivity of hydrophytes in the water bodies of the European Northeast. At the same time, the study of the specifics of the processes of accumulation of organic matter in the northern regions is of great interest and is of great practical importance. The reservoirs where productivity studies have been carried out are used for fishery and recreational purposes. The purpose of this work is to characterize the communities of hydrophytes of small reservoirs and calculate their productivity. Mate-rials and methods . The study of the productivity of hydrophytes was carried out at three small reservoirs located in the southern part of the Komi Republic at the end of June – July 2019–2020. To assess the aboveground phyto-RESEARCH mass, cutting plots with a size of 0.25 m 2 were laid. Mows were selected in each community in triplicate, sorted by species and dried, after which their absolutely dry weight was weighed. When converting absolutely dry weight into pure annual products, a coefficient of 2,5 was used. Results. The studied reservoirs are moderately overgrown (21,7 % and 17,5 %) and significantly overgrown (26,1 %). The most productive are the Potamo natantis – Polygonetum natantis and Potametum natantis communities. The net annual production of hydrophytes with low heat supply for the year was 6,3 t/year for the Kazhim reservoir, 23,2 t/year for the Nyuvchim reservoir, 0,3 t/year for the Nyuchpassky reservoir, and 11,6, 61,4, 0,4 t/year, respectively. Conclusions. 10 associations of hydrophytes were characterized and the values of their productivity were obtained. The influence of the temperature factor on the accumulation of organic matter by own-water plants was revealed. The main producers, which make the greatest contribution to the total productivity of the reservoir, have been identified.

. Background. The study of the role of the environment in implementing the ontogenetic program of organisms is an important aspect of modern ecology. Of particular interest is the study of the effect of trophic components of the nutrient substrate on metabolic processes and the rate of development of microorganisms, in particular, the role of lignin destruction intermediates as a regulator of metabolic processes and the development of cellulose and lignolytic fungi. The aim of the research was to study the role of methoxyl groups of lignin as a factor stimulating the transition to the stage of secondary metabolism and teleomorphism in fungi of various groups. Materials and methods. To achieve this goal, a series of laboratory experiments was carried out with mycelial cultures of fungi of various systematic groups with complexes of cellulose- and lignolytic enzymes. Works with fungal cultures were carried out according to generally accepted methods. The experiments were carried out us-ing Klasson's lignin percolates. Determination of the content of ergosterol in the mycelium was carried out by gas chromatography. The ability of basidiomycetes to form a teleomorph was studied under sterile conditions. Results. The conducted studies made it possible to establish the features of the effect of the methoxyl groups of lignin introduced into nutrient media on the growth, development, and synthesis of ergosterol by mycelium. The results were obtained, indicating the stimulation of the transition of mycelial cultures to secondary metabolism due to the indicated components of the medium. The established facts of stimulation of ergosterol synthesis by mycelium, as well as the manifestation of characteristic morphological features, the biochemical equivalent of which is secondary metabolism, indicate the role of methoxyl groups as inducers of the onset of the reproductive phase of culture. The formation of developed fruiting bodies in basidiomycetes, as well as differentiated primordia on substrates enriched in methoxyl groups, indicates that these lignin components (the concentration of which is noticeably higher in wood that has already undergone degradation processes in nature) can serve as fruiting fac-tors not only in artificial, but also in natural conditions. Conclusions. Such components of lignin as methoxyl groups can affect the rate of development and metabolic processes of the mycelium of destructor fungi. The established facts of stimulation of ergosterol synthesis by mycelium, as well as the manifestation of characteristic morphological features, the biochemical equivalent of which is secondary metabolism, indicate the role of methoxyl groups as inducers of the onset of the reproductive phase of culture.

Rationale and Goals. Recent decades have witnessed an increasing anthropogenic impact on Kalmykia’s steppe landscapes. Active oil fields, numerous filling stations and vehicles adversely affect the environment. Oil and oil products impair the growth and development of plants, not to mention that oil products are toxic to plants even at minor concentrations. The study aims at investigating phytotoxic properties of Kalmykia soils when polluted with oil and oil products. Materials and Methods. The laboratory studies were performed with the help of methods customary for biology and soil science. The work pays special attention to simulation experiments. The objects of research are key zonal soil types of the Republic of Kalmykia. The experiments have been performed in vegetation vessels and Petri dishes with oil and oil products serving as polluting agents. The target test plant is radish. Numberous research works prove that radish is a good indicator of oil pollution, and its relatively short vegetation period allows using it for laboratory experiments. The phytotoxicity was estimated by numbers of germinated seeds, lengths of sprouts and roots. Results. The work provides an insight into phytotoxicity of Kalmykia’s oil-polluted soils and reveals the influence of oils with mineralized stratal waters on the growth and development of the target test plant. The paper draws up a data series by degree of influence of oil and oil products on changing phytotoxic properties, supplemented with a data series to characterize Kalmykia soils by degree of oil pollution resistance. Conclusions. All the examined oil-polluted soils show severe phytotoxic impact on target test plant organisms, the exception being brown semi-desert soils where low-concentration of oil-fuel and kerosene pollution resulted in some extension of plant sprouts and roots length.
