Librarians' familiarity with and attitudes toward podcast technology 图书馆员对播客技术的熟悉程度和态度

New media have influenced library services and as a result, librarians always have tried to learn, use and even teach how to use such technologies. A combination of Web, and personal media players and mobile phones has resulted in useful technologies including podcasting web sites and facilities. Unlike other media, podcasts have been paid less attention to as library materials. This research investigated librarians' familiarity with podcasting and their attitudes about such tools as a library service. The results indicate little knowledge and experience of Iranian librarians with podcasting tools and as a result their attitudes about those technologies is also vague. Also, it is demonstrated that unlike the importance of podcasts, there is currently little use of them in public libraries in Iran. Welldesigned instructions of the librarians can improve the current state of podcasts as a media in libraries.

Analysis of strengths and weaknesses of employing E-learning in language learning classes 在语言学习课堂中运用电子学习的优势和劣势分析

The study aimed to address E-learning practices and pedagogical issues related to the application of e-learning mixed with traditional practices of language learning in Iran. To do so, first, a group of 50 language learners were targeted as the subjects of the study. Next, the actual feedbacks from language learners on E-learning practices and the effectiveness of the practices at the language institute they were learning English were gathered via an open ended questionnaire consisting of 10 items. Then, an analysis focusing on the strengths and weaknesses of employing e-learning for language teaching was conducted based on the collected data from learners. The findings of the study reflected students' satisfaction with some facets of the E-learning; however, some of the latent threats of employing E-learning in language classes were also revealed. Finally, the study shed light on some of the ingrained weaknesses and threats of employing E-learning in language classes and proposed some solutions for tackling the existing problems.

Providing an effective way of using the Virtual Laboratory to improve student learning process 提供了一种利用虚拟实验室提高学生学习过程的有效途径

Virtual Laboratory is considered as one of the most comprehensive tools on human interaction with the computer. In this paper, the effects of virtual laboratories are identified and some successful experiences in this laboratory are accessed. One of the important points that can be noted in this study is the difference in student learning. Therefore, this paper also examines individual differences in learning styles and focuses on the interaction with students, teachers and parents as well as the missing link in the learning process. Finally, a combination method using virtual laboratories and actual laboratories is proposed which improves the Experimental - Research learning in the students in a virtual environment and helps them to feel better during the learning process.

A supporting tool in online learning forums based on multi-documents summarization 基于多文档摘要的在线学习论坛辅助工具

Online discussion groups and forums now hosts millions of users that join them with different purposes, to discuss various matters or ask their questions or providing answers to others' questions. Web 2.0 and online forums provide an environment that supports the following important functionalities: content generation, content and knowledge sharing, synchronous and asynchronous interaction and so on. With increasing usage of collaborative learning these forums and communities are known as a suitable platform that facilitates collaborative activities. Many learners refer to these forums to find answers for their questions. Unfortunately due to huge amount of information on these forums, finding the appropriate answers is becoming more time consuming. In addition, there is no suitable mechanism to measure the reliability of answers being provided. To overcome these challenges a new supporting tool for e-Learning in online communities and forums is proposed. This supporting tool consists of three main components. At first relevant questions to learners query is found. The next component finds the best answers for these relevant questions. Finally, selected answers are summarized and an abstract view of these answers that contains the most important information is returned to the learner. To evaluate the proposed tool the contents of 30 discussions are collected. The results of applying this supporting tool show that it can help learners to find their answers in learning forums more easily.

Teaching-learning processes in the e-learning context are identified as procedures that facilitate learning, using a variety of learning services based on a technology platform. This process is analysed with a focus on the teacher's different presences in online position or e-learning environment, specially their presence in cognition, communication and teaches. Given this notion of how the process of teaching-learning facilitates learning in a virtual learning environment and what the relationship is between the different roles a teacher might take on, the paper is designed on the basis of the researcher's approach to the teaching-learning process, teacher roles and the implications of mentioned roles in the three virtual Universities selected from Iran.

The study of the teacher's role and student interaction in e-learning process 网络学习过程中教师角色与学生互动的研究

Today the effect of the interaction between students and teachers in learning and teaching is an undeniable issue. Without interaction, learners will not only be motivated to continue their courses, but also the learning does not occur. But the discussion of interaction in e-learning environment is more complex than traditional education. This paper introduces and analyzes the interaction types, interaction and interactive e-learning tools. The survey results show that students and teachers can benefit from methods and tools and overcome the challenges of electronic transactions with each other. Some of the ways to overcome the challenges of interaction are using modified techniques of presentation style, speed, graphics, and content of the survey and one of the best ways to overcome the challenges of interaction by students is the formation of discussion groups and student associations.

An assessment of the E-learning readiness among EFL university students and its relationship with their English proficiency 英语为母语的大学生在线学习准备程度及其与英语水平的关系

This study aimed at investigating Iranian EFL students' e-learning readiness to be involved in an electronic language learning (ELL) environment and its relationship with their English language proficiency. Data were collected from 217 EFL students from Shiraz Azad University using an e-learning readiness self-assessment and the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The results indicated that the sample had relatively high readiness for e-learning. Moreover, a positive correlation between EFL students' English proficiency and their e-learning readiness was found. The findings suggested that EFL students are ready for online and distance language education provided by university and their mastery of language helps them to optimize their language learning in online environment.

Identifying and ranking factors in evaluating the Web 2.0-based educational simulation games 基于Web 2.0的教育模拟游戏评估因素的识别和排序

Today, modern methods of training are developed with the aid of information technology to help learners better understand the circumstances of real organizations and increase the power of relating between classroom theoretical concepts and practical concepts in the real world. Training by simulation games is one of the training tools that due to the rapid development of network technology is significantly developed and if used correctly highly influences teaching and learning. The general aim of this research is to identify and rank the evaluation factors of training simulation games for optimum designing or selecting the best simulation game in training. For this purpose after reviewing the literature and studying the models and frameworks presented about the development and design of serious and simulation games, their main elements and components were identified. Then by using The Delphi method and opinions of 15 Training and simulation games experts, Factors that had the greatest deal of emphasis were presented in the form of 3 Psychological, Educational, and Technical dimensions and 30 evaluation factors and after comparing and rating the factors by the experts the answers were analyzed and ranked. Ranking the evaluation factors in this research shows that technical and educational factors had higher importance in the experts' view than the psychological factors. Also the high rank of web2.0 factors among the technical factors shows the high importance of educational simulation games in web context 2.0 in experts' view.

Then by using The Delphi method and opinions of 15 Training and simulation games experts, Factors that had the greatest deal of emphasis were presented in the form of 3 Psychological, Educational, and Technical dimensions and 30 evaluation factors and after comparing and rating the factors by the experts the answers were analyzed and ranked. Ranking the evaluation factors in this research shows that technical and educational factors had higher importance in the experts' view than the psychological factors. With the advancement of science and technology and the increasing impact of information technology on human life, the learning process itself has taken a new form. E-learning is a new topic in education environments and gradually has found its proper place in the recent training methods. But due to the fact that, there is no face to face contact between the teachers and students in e-learning systems, neither the teachers nor the students in the course are aware of each other's behavior, so in these types of systems, the need of feedback between the students and the professors is felt, this will help improve the teaching and learning process. Although most of these systems can offer a reporting tool, the teachers, in general, cannot provide a clear view about the status of their students. In this paper we investigate efficient query search, as well as global issues, with the aim of solving this problem with a new approach in the design of decision support systems, a system which would enable teachers to answer questions like these in order to understand students' academic achievement using data mining techniques based on the data in the database management system for educational content. Finally, the paper concludes and suggests that teachers of these courses do not require the learning and data mining techniques, but only a model or models are needed to interpret the results of teachers and other educational activities that are essential to help.

Multi dimensional framework for qualitative evaluation in e-learning 网络学习中定性评价的多维框架

The increasingly use of e-learning in educational and organizational environments, places the issue of the evaluation of its elements as important. Various frameworks are generally used to evaluate such an environment. Some focus on the whole components and their interoperations while the others consider each component separately. Although the existing frameworks evaluate various components of e-learning environment, they suffer from deficiencies that make them not generic enough to cover all the necessary dimensions within the e-learning environment. To overcome this problem, in this paper, we propose a multi-dimensional framework including standards, components, stakeholders, evaluation methods, context, and indicators to evaluate e-learning quality. Several compressive indicators have been determined to evaluate each dimension qualitatively. The potential of proposed framework is shown via two scenarios in educational and organizational context. It is found that, two types of major and minor differences between the proposed scenarios are observable.
