A zaklatás jelenségének vizsgálata városi általános iskolás tanulók körében

The study presents the results of a survey among pupils of grades V-VIII of an urban primary school in Szeklerland, where the author investigated the phenomenon of bullying in the school environment. The results of the data collection are summarized in five aspects: (1) to what extent bullying is present in the studied group of pupils, (2) to what extent bullying is present in each grade, (3) to what extent bullying is experienced by pupils with high school performance and pupils with low school performance, (4) in which school locations bullying is experienced, and (5) what reasons are given by pupils.

The declining number of children, the sight of schools becoming quiet and empty is a cause for concern not only in the rural villages of Szeklerland. Today, the threat to the survival of small rural schools is a global phenomenon. As there are relatively few synthesis studies in the literature that provide a summary picture of the current situation of rural schools, Montserrat Fargas-Malet and Carl Bagley (2021) attempt to fill this gap. This article presents a synthesis of research by this British authors' pair on small schools in rural settings and their enrolment indicators in relation to other background factors.

The study examines the educational situation in Harghita County for the period 2000-2020, focusing on the following topics: infrastructure, changes in the number of educational institutions, the proportion of rural and urban schools, changes in the number of classrooms, changes in the number of students, the distribution of students by language of learning, changes in the number of computers and IT equipment, changes in the number of teaching staff, and the proportion of teachers in urban and rural areas. The starting point for this study is that the socio- institutional conditions of a county or region are crucial to the study of its educational situation.

"The study analyses the labour market situation in the Bazinul Ciucului based on the data of the Romanian National Statistical Office, closely linked to the research on Szeklerland and the Bazinul Ciucului. The aim of the study is to analyse the social and economic trends in the area under study, with a particular focus on the evolution of labour market data in rural municipalities. The findings will provide insights into the economic performance and competitiveness of the municipalities of the Bazinul Ciucului and its labour market situation, helping decision-makers and local authorities to explore the labour market and plan interventions to increase employment. The results show that in most municipalities there have been no major changes in the labour market over the last 10 years. Both the number of employed and the number of registered unemployed are low compared to the population of the municipalities. The unemployment rate is not high in principle, but it is still significant, due to the statistically difficult to measure share of the unemployed who are not registered (e.g. houseworkers, temporary foreign workers) and the share of the unemployed who are working in the black economy."

The paper is a shortened, revised version of the summary study (2009-2010) containing the results of the individual research project - The Role of Women in the Social Process of Labour Migration in Szeklerland - conducted within the framework of the Domus Scholarship of the Hungarian Academy of Science. In the course of the research, I made use of research materials and experiences that I had accumulated on the topic of labour migration in Szeklerland prior to the present research, and which I had conducted in the framework of research groups or in the form of individual research projects. The first migration studies were carried out within the framework of the WAC – Centre for Regional and Anthropological Research (Biró 1994, 1995, Bodó 1996, Oláh 1996), followed by group researches that I conducted with the support of the Institute for Research Programmes (KPI) of Sapientia University (Bodó 2008a, b., c, Bodó - Biró 2009, Bodó 2009a.,b.,c, Bodó 2011a., b.).

"In this paper I present a chapter of my research on the attitudes of teachers in Roma-majority classrooms and schools. These research findings are part of a broader study. The aim of my research is to typologize the attitudes of teachers based on interviews conducted with them, and to interpret these attitudes in the context of the social environment (educational policy, majority-minority relations) and the school as an organization. Based on interviews with the teachers involved in the research, I have distinguished three main patterns of attitudes: the childcentred, the rule-abiding and the conflicted. In the teachers' attitudes, certain dimensions of these types are blended by different factors. In the schools included in the research, most of the teachers interviewed belong to the “conflicted” category, who are essentially “floundering” in the narrow margins of the centralised education system, trying to take into account the different cultural and social situations of the pupils, while at the same time trying to comply with the curriculum, the regulations and the expectations of the examination system."

By means of a thematic compilation, the authors present the emergence of informality, its modes of operation, analytical aspects and the interpretations they see as relevant, based on research conducted in Szeklerland.
