This paper details a Zernike Moments and Fuzzy-C-Means clustering based technique to identify the nature of an ECG image. The proposed method can detect whether the ECG image belongs to a normal heart or a diseased heart. In the second case it can indicate the disease of the heart also. The method has been tested on four databases- congestive heart failure database, ventricular tachyarrhythmia database, atrial fibrillation database and normal sinus rhythm database. The experiment shows that the proposed technique is successful in 98.7% cases.

Supply chain is a network of many entities, some of which are suppliers, manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers, through which raw materials are acquired, transformed, produced and delivered to the end-customer. An effective and efficient way of managing this network is called as Supply Chain Management. In this paper, a multi-objective algorithm is used to solve a three stage supply chain problem. The three stage supply chain or three entities considered are suppliers, wholesalers and a retailer. Typically all supply chain problems are characterized by conflicting objectives of each entity. This work specifically deals with the implementation of an algorithm which makes a trade-off between these conflicting objectives and enables any retailer to obtain the most optimal solution (supply chain) using the concept of pareto-optimality. It considers three major objectives- transportation cost, cost of product and the capacity of the wholesaler. Thus the optimization obtained will be reflected in the entire chain and will not be biased to any one entity in particular.

Retina blood vessels have high degree of uniqueness making retina based biometric systems as an emerging security and authentication mechanism. With increased advancement in digitization of authentication and medical image processing, there is demand of accurate and faster digital image processing. Wavelets are excellent in extracting localized texture information in digital images. Blood vessels have vessels with different thickness and width; they can be analyzed using multi-resolution analysis method. A retina feature, named wavelet energy feature (WEF) is defined in this paper, employing wavelet, which is a powerful tool of multi-resolution analysis. WEF can reflect the wavelet energy distribution of vessels with different thickness and width in several directions at different wavelet decomposition levels, so its ability to discriminate retinas is very strong. This paper also presents new and faster type of wavelets called Kekre's wavelets for creating WEF and extracting retinal feature vector. Wavelet energy entropies based on Kekre wavelets are calculated for retina features and used for match using Euclidian distance. The paper finds retinal match accuracy using Kekre wavelet better than Haar wavelets. Use of wavelet for segmenting the blood vessels and use of Energy Entropy for feature extraction holds promise of simplicity and computationally less expensive.

This paper proposes a novel methodology for the optimization of Hairpin-Line bandpass filter. The proposed methodology is based on well-known Plackett-Burman Design of Experiment technique. First, a five section hairpin resonator is designed to operate at a center frequency of 2.4GHz with a bandwidth of 300MHz using Genesys software. Plackett-Burman Design of Experiment methodology is then applied to this filter for further optimization. Implementation of proposed approach shows 61% improvement in return loss and 15% improvement in insertion loss of the filter as compared to the filter designed using Genesys software.

In this paper, we proposed a new method for object recognition for multi viewed object based on shape space. Here we extract the similar features of all the objects of different classes and identified in a single point in a high dimensional manifold which is known as shape space. Object recognition is achieved by measuring the Euclidian distance between an observed object and a model in the shape space. The problem of image retrieval is much more challenging than that of text retrieval since significant features for representing and searching an arbitrary image vary with the image content. So, we focus on landmarks of processing images which are easily recognisable by human users.

Digital image processing technique can be applied to virtual restoration of artistic paintings. This paper introduced a method for the restoration of digitized paintings which is based on wavelet transformation analysis. Initially the given image gets separated into two principal components which encompass image texture and image color, respectively. Then, using multiresolution characteristics of wavelet transform, from the lowest spatial-frequency layer to the higher one, the image is analyzed from global-area to local-area progressively. Then, variance of the energy of wavelet coefficients within each image block is used to decide the priority of inpainting blocks. Final step is to extract the multi-resolution features of each block. The correlation among horizontal, vertical and diagonal directions are considered, to determine the inpainting strategy for filling image pixels and approximate high-quality image inpainting to human vision. This method can be used for a variety of input images that exhibit different kinds of defects.

The main objective of the paper is to replace conventional interface and interconnectivity with Amanda (Advanced Maryland Automated Network Disk Archiver) with that of SQLite's. Its objective is to design and develop a tool that is user friendly, portable and can be easily used by any technical and non-technical user. The system being developed will create an interface between SQLite and Amanda. This will allow the user to use SQLite instead of conventional database to back-up his data. In the first module, SQLite is used to back-up the data present on each individual host in the network. Then Amanda is used to take (incremental or full) backup of the data present on all the hosts. Further in the next module would be uploading the backed up data with cloud interconnectivity.

The ISO 9001 quality management system has been widely accepted and adapted as a national standard by most industrial countries. Despite its high popularity and the urgent demand from customers to implement ISO 9001, some major concerns for those organizations that are seeking registration to ISO 9001 include the expensive cost and the lengthy time to implement. The purpose of this paper is to describe an expert advisory system for ISO 9001 implementation by using an expert system. This expert advisory system integrated the ISO 9001 quality system guidelines and domain experience a into a knowledge-based expert system. By identifying the critical ISO elements and comparing the company's current quality performance with ISO standards, this advisory system provides assessment results and implementation suggestions in terms of corrective and preventive action reports to the organization. The advisory system has been validated by its implementation at Pune based small scale company. The following contains a description of the system and a discussion of the validation results. Limitations of the system and recommendations for future research are also discussed.

This paper is in live context with the improvement in the stealth technology that is designed by us for enhancing the surveilience strength of radar system. The idea about passive detection and ranging was projected as an research purpose for improvement in radar technology. We already have active radar but in active radar we get detected in the opponent radar once we switch on the radar since radar transmits and recieves the same. To enhance the security if the radar only recieves the signals of all the opponent and monitors them without transmitting then such radar will not be visible in the opponents radar. Since, this technique is now under-development in various countries. We have proposed our technique as well as provided the existing passive radar method i.e., WIMAX radar.

This paper introduces vibration effects on the GPS based Vehicle Tracking System (VTS) to be used in stringent environment like ground based wheeled vehicles in Military applications. This paper also gives a brief idea of failures due to vibration and benefits of the vibration test method. The geometrical model for HE-30 Enclosure with GPS VTS board has been prepared using CATIA software and simulated for stress level analysis using ANSYS Software. ANSYS uses the Finite Element Analysis tool to simulate the natural frequencies and the stress level. The results were obtained through simulation of HE-30 Enclosure with and without shock mounts. These stress levels were compared with the Ultimate Tensile Strength to find out, whether this Enclosure would sustain the applied vibrations. The simulation results have indicated that the maximum stress level of 30.8 MPa for Enclosure without shock mounts has been reduced to 50 KPa for Enclosure with shock mounts. Also, the maximum stress level observed for HE-30 Enclosure, with and without shock mounts is much below the Ultimate Tensile Strength of 310 MPa. HE-30 Enclosure meets the compatibility requirements with JSS-55555 / MIL 810 E standards. The actual vibration test was conducted on GPS VTS board with HE-30 Enclosure. Functional test results were found to be satisfactory and no mechanical damage was observed in the system.
