Combination approaches provide flexible and versatile solution to improve adaptive filter performance. In this paper, mean square performance of an affine combination of two time varying (TV) LMS adaptive filters is studied. The purpose of this combination is to obtain TV LMS adaptive filter with fast convergence and small mean square error (MSE).Two practical schemes proposed in [1] are used for this case. Simulation results indicate that these schemes yield overall MSE that is less than the MSE of either filter. Moreover this combination is better than combination of two LMS adaptive filters.

Ambulatory cardiac monitoring has become an important scenario nowadays as a standard preventive cardiological procedure for detection of cardiac abnormalities. In the proposed system it is achieved with the Android smart phone. Heart rate variability (HRV) analysis is well known to give information about the autonomic heart rate modulation mechanism. In order to avoid erroneous conclusions, it is of utmost importance that only sinus rhythms are present in the cardiogram. Therefore, preprocessing of the RR interval time series is necessary. This paper presents an advanced automated algorithm to preprocess RR intervals obtained from a normal ECG. Validation of this algorithm was performed on recorded ECG signals by holter recorder and MIT-BIH database. The proposed algorithm therefore restricts the manual data check to the absolute minimum and allows a reliable HRV analysis.

The World Wide Web plays an important role while searching for information in the data network. Users are constantly exposed to an ever-growing flood of information. A wrapper is an application which helps in searching for Search Results Records (SSR) from multiple search engines. This helps in making the search more efficient and reliable. VEDD wrapper extracts the relevant SRRs from three search engines by filtering out the noisy and redundant records. Finally the unique set of records is displayed in a common VEDD search result page. The extraction is performed using the concepts of Document Object Model (DOM) tree. The paper presents a series of data filters to detect and remove irrelevant data from the web page. The data filters will also be used to further improve the similarity check of data records. Also, visual cues from the underlying browser rendering engine is made use to locate and extract the relevant data region from the deep web by the keyword matching technique.

Recently, storage of huge volume of data into Cloud has become an effective trend in modern day Computing due to its dynamic nature. After storing, users delete their original copy of the data files. Therefore, users cannot directly control over that data. This lack of control introduce security issues in Cloud data storage, one of the most important security issue is integrity of the remotely stored data. Here, we propose a Distributed Algorithmic approach to address this problem with publicly probabilistic verifiable scheme. Due to heavy workload at the Third Party Auditor side, we distribute the verification task among various SUBTPAs. We use Sobol Random Sequence to generate the random block numbers that maintain the uniformity property. In addition, our method provide uniformity for each subtasks also. To make each subtask uniform, we use some analytical approach. For this uniformity, our protocols verify the integrity of the data very efficiently and quickly. Also, we provide special care about critical data by using Overlap Task Distribution Keys.

This paper describes a design and implementation of a baseband Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) transceiver utilizing Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) signal processing for increased data rate. MIMO OFDM has many promising features which allow wireless devices to communicate at a higher data rate with reduced errors and hardware complexity. The system is composed of a 2×2 MIMO utilizing Vertical-Bell Laboratories Layered Space-Time (V-BLAST) detection algorithm. Alternate designs for modulator-demodulator, convolutional encoder - decoder and sync circuit are considered to get optimum resource utilization and low complexity. The design is implemented on a Spartan 6 FPGA and resource utilization with various combinations is compared to get an optimum design in terms of hardware footprint.

Adaptation is a primary issue for achieving efficient bandwidth utilization in wireless communication systems because of dynamic fluctuations in channel conditions. This paper details the implementation of an adaptive channel coding and modulation system using Reed Solomon (RS) codes. RS codes are non-binary error correcting codes that are capable of correcting burst and random errors. This paper investigates the effects of an Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channel on the performance of RS coding methods for different errors correction capability. Relation among BER for different code rates and the performance of RS codes for various modulation schemes is analysed. Based on the obtained analytical results, an adaptive channel coding scheme is designed. Simulation and analysis of the proposed system is done on MATLAB with real time implementation on TMS320C6713 digital signal processing (DSP) Kit.

Wireless sensor network is an emerging technology that enables remote monitoring of objects and environment. Wireless sensor networks can assist user to detect target as well as acquire the movement information of the target such as a vehicle. Vehicle tracking finds its prime application in intrusion avoidance, surveillance etc. For surveillance applications, it is preferable to keep the intruder unaware of being tracked. This paper presents a tracking algorithm based on Kalman filter and the hardware implementation of a test bed along with the set/reset calibration circuit for improving the sensitivity of the magnetic sensor. The proposed method has been evaluated on real data.

The advance communication satellites, having narrow spot beams, require an automatic antenna pointing mechanism to maintain the spot beam coverage over the specified area. The monopulse tracking system is a popular choice, where the required tracking accuracy is better than 1/10th of antenna beam width. The two-channel monopulse tracking receiver is an essential subsystem of two-channel monopulse tracking system. The receiver is realized using coherent detection technique for better noise performance. The phase lock loop (PLL), and automatic gain control (AGC) loop are the two major building blocks of the receiver. The receiver has been developed and tested with the tracking chain of GSAT-4 satellite. This paper presents specifications, design, implementation issues and performance of the receiver.

A slotted patch antenna is designed with Electromagnetic Band gap (EBG) structures inside patch for ISM band. The performance parameters of the presented antenna are then compared with the slotted patch antenna and slotted patch antenna with EBG structure inside patch. It is realized that the bandwidth requirement is fulfill than the normal patch antenna, with reduction in back lobe. This antenna is operating in the frequency band 2.4GHz. to 2.48 GHz which is one of the most usable bandwidth regions for wireless applications such as Wi-Fi outdoor, WLAN, and many more. The proposed antenna achieves return loss -39dB. Built in FR-4 material.

Personnel scheduling problem is combinatorial optimization problem which belongs to category of NP hard problems. This study presents a tabu search to laboratory personnel scheduling problem, assigning tasks to employees by satisfying organizational, personal and work regulation constraints. The main objective of this paper is to search for better solutions for given instance of laboratory personnel scheduling problem. Tabu search shows better results than genetic algorithmic approaches and backtracking approaches reported in literature. To further compare the performance of tabu search with genetic algorithmic approach, we have used ten instances created with our data generator. For simple data instances tabu search is found to be better than GA.
