Islamic banks are obliged to fund and finance the funds to the public. Moreover, Islamic banks are also required to perform social functions. The study aims to analyse the level of social productivity of Islamic Banks in Indonesia and the determinants of it. The data analysis used the Two-Stage Malmquist Productivity Index technique where the first phase uses Malmquist Productivity Index (MPI) and the second uses pooled Tobit regression which applied to 8 BUS from 2013 through 2017. The input variables are the receipt of zakat funds and the charity funds, while the output variables are the use of zakat funds and the charity funds. The results of this study found that Islamic banking has increased productivity in managing social funds by 33.2% where BJB Syariah became the most productive and BRI Syariah is the lowest.Furthermore, the productivity of Islamic Banks in managing social funds is positivelyinfluenced by Return on Assets (ROA) and negatively influenced by the ownership ofindependent LAZ and Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), while Financing to Deposit Ratio(FDR) and bank size have no real effect on the social productivity of Islamic Banks inIndonesia.

Humans are resource of power in economic development that acts as the caliph of Allah on earth that is demanded to be responsible for the continuity of development that bring maslahah people in the world and the hereafter. However, in reality the human resource problem itself is still very complex, such as the lack of optimal quality of human resources, evidenced by the high number of unemployed in Indonesia. Where open unemployment in February 2017 reached 5,33% from 5,50% in February 2016. This phenomenon is interesting to review from the standpoint of human resource development in an Islamic perspective. By using qualitative methods and data collection through observation, interview and documentation of the Al-Falah Social Fund Foundation (YDSF) Surabaya as a sample of research. Finally this article explains that human resource development at Al-Falah Social Fund Foundation (YDSF) Surabaya uses spiritual and material approach. Through these two approaches, human resource development goes with programs aimed at improving human resources both spiritually and the material. In addition, this article also explains the obstacles encountered along with the solution to be applied by the Al-Falah Social Fund Foundation (YDSF) in order to optimize the quality of human resources.

The low-income households are perceived to have the right to take debt from excessfinanced group or entitled for some charity. However, this perception has blur their attitude towards charity-giving. Low-income should not consider themselves as 'the taker' in perpetual. They should instil giving behaviour and consider themselves as 'the giver'. Experts from financial education and Islamic finance areas are interviewed. Results from Analytic Network Process suggest that setting specific targeted behaviour is the most priority, with debt-taking focus of interest. Women apparently become the most urgent targeted audience of Islamic finance education. Before executing education program, participant’s belief towards Islamic value should be built. Experts suggest formal education institution be the most preferable place to establish the program, in collaboration with formal financial institutions to conduct the training and support from government budget. Introducing Islamic economics and finance values from the earlier stage of formal education would be suitable for future consideration.
