Tuberculous lymphadenitis mimicking metastasis of rectal cancer: a case report Treatment of rectal cancer varies on the presence of distant organ metastasis. Tuberculous lymphadenitis is a microbial disease involving mediastinal lymph nodes and may heal with anti-tuberculosis treatment. The coexistence of these two situations may lead to misunderstanding of lymphadenitis as metastasis of rectal cancer and end up with the wrong treatment strategy. We present an exemplary patient eliciting the importance of the correct diagnosis in planning the treatment.

Myofibroblastoma: A rare benign breast tumor in a male case Myofibroblastoma is a rare benign mesenchymal tumor of the breast. A small number of cases have been reported in the literature. It is often seen in postmenopausal women and older men. In general, MFP occurs slow-growing within months, well-circumscribed, mobile, single-sided and a hard mass. Due to the variety of morphological variants, it is difficult to distinguish from other breast masses by imaging techniques, tru-cut biopsy plays a key role in diagnosis. Local excision of myofibroblastoma as a benign tumor of the breast is curative. Malign transformation and recurrence after surgery have not been reported. Knowing the right approach to this rare breast mass by general surgeons, reduce unnecessary and mistreatments. We presented a new case of myofibroblastoma which is found in a 42 years old male patient’s breast, due to its rarity.

Factors affecting mortality in subarachnoid hemorrhage Objective: Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is an important emergency that should be early diagnosed and treated. It can be spontaneous or traumatic; has severe complications and high mortality and morbidity rates. In our study, we aimed to establish whether is there a relationship in between duration of hospitalization and mortality rate with risk factors, medical history, etiological properties and hematologic parameters at patients whose was diagnosed spontaneous or traumatic SAH at our emergency service. Material and Method: In our research, we included 150 patients who come or referred to Adana Numune Education and Research Hospital, Emergency Medicine Clinic between 1 August 2014 and 1 August 2016, above the age of 18 and diagnosed spontaneous or traumatic SAH. Results: Overall 150 SAH diagnosed patient were analyzed retrospectively. In our research %70 (n=105) of 150 cases were spontaneous SAH, %30 (n=45) were traumatic SAH, %60 (n=90) were male, %40 (n=60) were female. Average age of all patients was 54.5±15.7. In the group of died patients in our study, we detected that; age, medical drug using, rate of positive feature at medical history, sudden change of mental status, hemiparesis, abnormal electrocardiographic (ECG) features, Fisher and Hunt-Hess scores were seen significantly higher

Extracolonic findings in CT colonography: Our experience in 227 cases Objective: The aim of our study is to evaluate the frequency and the types of extracolonic findings (ECF) in Computed Tomography Colonography (CTC) performed for screening purposes in an asymptomatic population. Methods: CTC examinations performed for Colo-Rectal Carcinoma (CRC) screening between April 2013 and April 2014 were included in the study. We classified ECF according to CTC reporting and data system (C-RADS). Two radiologists examined images. Patients’ demographic data were documented. The presence and the types of ECF were determined in consensus. Results: We evaluated 227 CTC retrospectively. There were 121 women (mean age 58.9±7.1) and 106 men (mean age 60.7±7.7). In 145 patients, ECF were detected and in 82 patients no ECF were found. The mean age was significantly higher in patients with ECF (p<0.01). The mean ages for clinically significant and insignificant groups were 61.7±8.7 and 57.5±6.8 years, respectively. This difference was statistically significant (p=0.003). There were no statistically significant difference between men and women in terms of ECF (p=0.397). Conclusion: Although ECF are encountered frequently and even more often with increasing age, only limited fraction of them have clinically significant outcomes.
