Full LCD Detector Simulation with GISMO 全LCD探测器仿真与GISMO

We present a status update of a full simulation package using GISMO. This package is a functioning tool producing simulation data for the two standard LCD detector designs, in a framework allowing easy changes to the detector designs. The simulation engine, GISMO, is separated from the application code, GISMOAPPS, to allow for a future upgrade to GEANT4 within the same framework.

Machine-detector interface at CLIC CLIC的机器检测器接口

The aim of the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) study [1] is to design a high-energy linear e+e− collider. The effort is focused on an accelerator with a center-of-mass energy of Ecm=3 TeV and a luminosity of L=1035 cm−2 s−1. Careful study of the expected background in the interaction point (IP) of this machine is necessary. In CLIC, the background sources are expected to be more severe than in other studies like JLC, NLC and TESLA because of the higher luminosity, higher energy and stronger beam-beam effects. Coherent pair creation, which is almost completely absent at lower energies, will be very important. This paper gives an overview of the current status of the background calculations including the corresponding detector simulations.

Measuring the Higgs mass at TESLA 在特斯拉测量希格斯粒子质量

We report on the accuracy of the measurement of the Higgs boson mass that would be achieved in a linear collider operating at a center-of-mass energy of 350 GeV, assuming an integrated luminosity of 500 fb−1. For that we have exploited the exclusive Higgs decays into b quarks and W bosons. The Higgs mass is determined with an accuracy of about 40 MeV for mH=120 GeV and 80 MeV for mH=180 GeV.

Several possible avenues for improving the performance of a CCD pixel-based Linear Collider vertex detector are explored in terms of their impact on the r−φ and r−z impact parameter resolution. In order to reconstruct particle mass using its jet decay, killing calorimeter clusters made by charged particles are essentially important. Precise association of charged tracks and calorimeter clusters requires fine granularity of calorimeters and fine-tuned algorism. In this study, tuning of conventional algorism with a calorimeter of reasonably fine granularity is tried.
