Teaching ESP for law students at universities in Russia and abroad 在俄罗斯和国外大学教授法律专业学生ESP

The authors present the results of the comparative analysis of the practice of teaching ESP for law students at universities in Russia and abroad. We studied the key documents on the issue and analyzed the actual state, content, goals, approaches, methods of teaching ESP. In the study, the authors relied on the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education currently being implemented in Russian universities, 40.03.01 "Jurisprudence" and on the European competencies within the framework of the key provisions of the system of language proficiency levels adopted in 2001 by the European Union, since they are fundamental when teaching ESP for law students. Nowadays, when integration into the international educational space with the simultaneous existence in the context of the implementation of the European policy of sanctions against Russia and the policy of import-substitution, teaching the language of the specialty of future lawyers, however, remains one of the key tasks in achieving the strategic goal of language education at the university, namely, the training of highly qualified lawyers in the field of international law, able to work with the latest regulatory framework both in the domestic labor market and in the international arena. The purpose of this study was to conduct a comparative analysis of the latest trends in teaching ESP for law students, studying international legal direction of training in higher education institutions in Russia and Europe. Furthermore we viewed the language portfolios of European countries, materials and documents of UNESCO, the Council of Europe and current Internet resources on the topic of the study in order to study the experience of teaching and monitoring the results of teaching the specialty language. We analyzed the prospects for the development of the language higher education system, which is traditionally based on domestic socio-cultural realities and foundations. From the point of view of the historical retrospective of teaching the language of the specialty in Russian universities today, it is necessary to observe and maintain a certain balance between the relevant historically established priorities and trends in the development of Russian pedagogy and methods of teaching the language of the specialty and the national education system. It is established that the current state policy in the field of active and accelerated import substitution (which cannot but affect the development of the specifics of teaching the language of the specialty at the university), as well as the prolongation of the sanctions policy, the COVID-19 pandemic and the actual state's bet on Russian self-sufficiency and reliance on its own potential and strength (which is recognized as traditional for our education and culture), obviously actualizes the dynamic development of domestic higher education, and integration into the international space with a parallel detailed study of the accumulated methodological experience

Unsteady phonetic variability of anglicisms in oral Russian (sociophonetic experimental research) 俄语口语英语的不稳定语音变异性(社会语音实验研究)

The article presents sociophonetic experimental data on the problem of assimilation of newly-borrowed words from English into modem Russian. The research was due to the need to assess the spontaneous processes and consequences of the interaction between English and Russian linguocultures in the XXI-st century. The authors' analysis of the features in a particular sphere of the field is accomplished on the basis of the concept of auditory identity between the phonetic patterns of the borrowed lexical unit (anglicism) and its donor-language prototype. A classification of phonetic types and kinds of anglicisms in modem spoken Russian is suggested - nuclear-iconic type (maximum degree of auditory identity, e.g. 'primaries -> 'npaitmepu3, proMotion -> npo'moymn, 'highly 'likely -> litaincim), near-nuclear- iconic type (high degree of auditory identity with interspersed modifications of sound or/and accentual structure of the anglocism, e.g. badge -> ;'lockdown -> J101C'actyrt, 'carsharing -> Kap'meputte), peripheral-iconic type (medium-to high degree of auditory identity, with a derived anglicism' s structure composed of the prototype's root in cooperation with Russian components, e.g. use -> 'io3amb, google -> npdeyeAumb, 'photoshop -> mo 'wonumb). The main object of the analysis is tendencies of word stress variability of anglicisms in spoken Russian - a prosodic section with clearest indications of unsteady variability of place and character of stress in them. The main subject of the analysis is the trends of localization of syllabic prominence in the borrowed neologisms of the recipient language - the prosodic sector with the most striking indicators of unstable variation of the place and nature of stress in anglicisms. The conditions of both hearing perception in natural and experimental formats, and reproduction of borrowed lexical units aloud are taken into account. On the example of such neologisms as COVID -> Komm, COVID-19 -> KOBI4A- 19, et al there was revealed a peculiarity of the unsteady phonetic variability of anglicisms in the Russian language oral usage. Taking into account the influence of a complex of extralinguistic factors - the degree of formality of the speech act, the degree of activity of the use of English by the speaker, the sphere of the latter' s activities, his/her gender, etc. was of great help. A common trend-forming feature was found out - the desire for complete phonetic assimilation of borrowed neologisms in oral Russian, in particular the tendency to shift the initial localization of syllabic prominence in the word to the right, e.g. 'COVid -> KO, 'MARketing -> map' KETIIBF, INfluencer -> 'EHcep).
