Walsh Hadamard Transform Precoded MB-OFDM: An Improved High Data Rate Ultrawideband System Walsh Hadamard变换预编码MB-OFDM:一种改进的高数据速率超宽带系统

This paper examines the performance improvement to be achieved by preceding the OFDM symbol by the Walsh Hadamard transform (WHT) in a multiband orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MB-OFDM) ultrawideband system. An upper bound on the probability of error for WHT-MB-OFDM in the Rayleigh fading channel with convolutional coding is derived, and compared to the upper bound for MB-OFDM. For high rate and low constraint length codes, WHT-MB-OFDM is shown to perform better than MB-OFDM. Next, the effect of narrowband interference is studied, and the WHT-MB-OFDM system is shown to perform significantly better than the MB-OFDM system. Finally, a general amplitude probability distribution (APD) function is derived for linearly precoded MB-OFDM systems and the WHT-MB-OFDM system is shown to cause less interference than the MB-OFDM to the co-existing narrowband system

Modeling of Line-of-Sight 2 × 2 MIMO Channels: Spherical Versus Plane Waves 视距2x2 MIMO通道建模:球面与平面波

We investigate the influence of exact spherical wave propagation modeling and approximate plane wave propagation modeling on the properties of a pure line-of-sight 2 times 2 multiple-input multiple-output channel. As transmission distance increases, the properties of the true spherical wave model converge to the properties given by the more simple plane wave model. We present a new model evaluation tool based on an analysis of the rank and singular values of the channel matrix, which can be employed to find the region where spherical wave modeling is necessary. The derivation results in new exact analytical expressions for which of the two models that should be applied, and the results based on mutual information show that the spherical wave model should be applied in many practical scenarios, e.g. indoor WLAN scenarios, where plane wave modeling is most frequently used today

Real-time Video Stream Aggregation in Wireless Mesh Network 无线网状网络中的实时视频流聚合

In this paper we design and evaluate Ganges, a wireless mesh network architecture that can efficiently transport real-time video streams from multiple sources to a central monitoring station. Video quality suffers from deterioration in the presence of bursty network losses and due to packets missing their playback deadline. Ganges spatially separates the paths to reduce inter-flow contention. It finds out a fair rate allocation for the different video sources. The wireless routers in the mesh network implement several optimizations in order to reduce the end-to-end delay variation. Ganges improves the network capacity by over 10-15% over a shortest path tree, and improves the video picture quality by 7-10 dB

This paper describes the evaluation of a flexible reconfigurable IP-based terminal architecture, supporting interoperation among macro and micro mobility management protocols. It is a generic component architecture that can intelligently change at runtime the operating mobility protocol, according to the available access networks. Further, it can transparently combine multiple protocols, for micro and macro mobility cooperation. This paper describes the performance evaluation results when operating the flexible reconfigurable terminal with combined macro mobility, mobile IPv6, together with micro mobility, hierarchical mobile IPv6 or BCMPv6

Capacity of wireless communication systems can be increased enormously using arrays of antenna at transmitter and receiver. However, in these so called multi-input multi-output (MIMO) communication systems, the performance of the signal detection is tightly related to the channel knowledge at the receiver side. Practically, the channel information at the receiver is subject to error because of the outdated data, quantization error, and imperfect channel estimation/measurement. It is known that in the case of imperfect channel knowledge, performance of symbol detection in MIMO communications may severely degrades. The optimum detection method in the sense of symbol error rate in MIMO systems is the maximum likelihood (ME) detection. In this paper, we proposed and studied a couple of robust detection methods that improve the performance of ME detector in MIMO systems in the presence of channel matrix error at the receiver

Experimental Small Scale Fading Results for Mobile Channels Over the Sea 海上移动信道的小尺度衰落实验结果

This study focuses on small scale characterization of sea propagation environments. Conducted measurements were used to extract results on the time dispersive and on the time variant nature of the channel. As concluded, power delay profile presents a singular, "spiky" shape. The delay parameters for line-of-sight propagation conditions are low, while in the absence of line-of-sight these values increase rapidly. Finally, the envelope distributions for direct and non-direct paths were studied in comparison with the commonly used Ricean and Rayleigh distributions

Software radio is the promising technology that allows the different wireless standards easily be converged. Using general purpose processors and open-source operating systems instead of dedicated hardware and software to build the wireless communication system is very flexible and low-cost. In this article,the open-source platform based on common PCs is described, which allows rapid development and verification of software radio systems. We also discuss the efficient distributed strategies essential for this platform. Finally, the demonstration system of TD-SCDMA is developed and the conclusion given

Interference Suppression for Measured Radio Channel Data at 2.45 GHZ 2.45 GHZ无线信道测量数据的干扰抑制

This paper focuses on the cleaning of radio channel measurements using interference suppression (IS) methods. The investigated radio channel was measured in a sub-urban environment at 2.45 GHz with 200 MHz bandwidth. The measurements contain badly corrupted data, where the wideband measurement signal coexists with several "narrowband" (ca. 10-20 MHz) interfering signals. Interference suppression was performed using the backward consecutive mean excision (CME), forward CME (FCME) and limiter CME (LCME) algorithms. The performance of the CME algorithms was of interest. The results verify that it is possible to clean the corrupted channel measurement data with reasonable computational costs

The measurements contain badly corrupted data, where the wideband measurement signal coexists with several \"narrowband\" (ca. 10-20 MHz) interfering signals. Empirical Characteristic Function Based Estimation of Multiple Scattering Channel Parameters 基于经验特征函数的多散射通道参数估计

Multiple scattering propagation channel is a physically motivated generic model whose special cases include Rayleigh, Rice, double-Rayleigh and "leaky keyhole" channels. Estimation of the parameters of its amplitude distribution is still largely an unexplored problem. In this paper, several novel estimators based on the empirical characteristic (ECF) function are derived. The mathematical form of the considered signal model makes the ECF approach ideally suited for the estimation problem at hand, whereas the maximum-likelihood (ME) estimator is analytically and computationally intractable. Furthermore, it can be easily extended to other similar signal models. By simulations it is shown that the derived ECF estimators have at least as small mean square error as the previously proposed moment-based approaches
