A Novel Location-Based Multicast Protocol for Ad-Hoc Networks 一种新的基于位置的Ad-Hoc网络组播协议

A novel location-based multicast routing protocol for ad-hoc networks is proposed. Starting from a well-known extension of the GPSR protocol to multicast, reduced bandwidth consumption is obtained by performing clustering estimation of the destination group and by considering each cluster as a single node for packet forwarding. As the new protocol limits the number of packet replications, network efficiency is improved. When real-time multicast traffic is carried, the packet delivery ratio is increased without noticeably affecting end-to-end delay. We study the performance of our protocol through simulation, with a simulator implementing a full MAC protocol. This allows to measure the performance in bandwidth-limited scenarios and to validate the results

In this paper, we propose a new concept namely forward interference avoidance (FIA) using adaptive array antennas (AAAs) for wireless mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). Analysis of Per-Channel Equalized Filtered Multitone Modulations Over Time-Varying Fading Channels 时变衰落信道上的每通道均衡滤波多音调制分析

We consider the performance of an FMT system with perchannel equalization over frequency-selective time-varying fading channels. Due to the distortion caused by frequency and time selectivity of the fading channel, both ICI and ISI exist in an FMT system and cause performance degradation. By using a per-channel equalizer at the FMT receiver with sufficiently large number of equalizer taps, the ISI can be mitigated significantly, but the ICI still exists. In this paper, the effects of the interference caused by the time-frequency dispersive channel is quantified by analyzing the average system carrier to interference (CIY) ratio of the FMT system under different fading conditions. A closed-form expression for the C/I ratio and its upper bound are provided for the FMT system, which lead to a better understanding of the trade-off between spectral efficiency and system performance degradation. Moreover, comparisons between FMT and OFDM systems under the same channel conditions and spectral efficiency are also provided. Numerical and simulation results of the system C/I ratio further confirm and support the obtained analytical results

Evaluation of Soft Handover Micro Diversity Gain on the UMTS System Capacity and QoS 软切换微分集增益对UMTS系统容量和服务质量的影响

In this paper the impact of the soft handover micro diversity gain on the UMTS system performance is investigated. First, by means of link layer simulations the micro diversity gain is measured in terms of reduction of the average Eb/N0 requirement. After modelling this effect, by some system level simulations we show the high influence of this usually neglected gain in the overall performance of UMTS, demonstrating that in downlink soft handover improves not only the quality of service but also the overall system capacity

The Effect of Locality on Coordinate Dissemination 地域对协调传播的影响

In age-based routing protocols, nodes forward data toward a position which is an estimation of the destination's coordinates. The fresher the estimation, the higher the probability to reach the destination. In such a class of solutions, it is fundamental that accurate estimations of nodes' positions be disseminated throughout the network in order for the forwarding algorithm to converge in a reasonable time and with as few hops as possible. In general, dissemination is done following uniform distributions. In this paper, we argue that coordinate dissemination should rely on measured parameters (thus adaptive to the network conditions), such as the mobility of a node. We investigate the impact of node locality on the performance of dissemination algorithms and propose a new algorithm that adjusts the dissemination level of a node's coordinates based on the displacements of the node. Through extensive simulations, we show that our proposal leads to both faster discovery and significant reduction of the overhead when compared to flat solutions

QoS-Based Vertical Handoff Decision Algorithm in Heterogeneous Systems 异构系统中基于qos的垂直切换决策算法

Vertical handoff is the switching process to provide seamless service among heterogeneous systems. An accurate estimation for utilities of target systems must precede a handoff for the efficient use of system resources. In this paper, we propose a vertical handoff decision algorithm based on the utility function to satisfy wireless QoS. Shannon's capacity is used to maximize throughput and traffic load is considered to utilize systems evenly. The tradeoff between handoff rate and throughput is investigated based on user's mobility. Simulation results show that the utility function effectively increases throughput

In this paper, we present the design of the WiMAX based radio access network to provide data coverage to 802.16 enabled devices. The design provides a multihop solution to provide wide area coverage to users and targets maximizing the radio resource utilization. We propose efficient route construction, data scheduling for increasing the utilization of the backhaul network and base station selection algorithm for end users for efficient load balancing. Through extensive solution, we should attain the benefits by each of the proposed design methods

Relationship Between Capacity and Pathloss for Indoor MIMO Channels 室内MIMO信道容量与路径损耗的关系

MIMO transmission systems exploit scattering in the radio channel to achieve high capacity for a given SNR. A high pathloss is generally expected for channels with rich scattering, suggesting that a high SNR and rich multipath are competing goals. The current work investigates this issue based on measurements obtained with a 16 times 32 MIMO channel sounder for the 5.8 GHz band. The measurements were carried out in various indoor scenarios where different sizes of both the transmitter and receiver antenna arrays are investigated, 1 times 1 up to 16 times 32. A moderate correlation between pathloss and median capacity was found. However, the higher richness can not compensate for the decrease in capacity due to increased pathloss. Assuming a fixed Tx power, the median capacity was found to depend approximately linearly on the pathloss. The slope of the linear relation depends on the effective rank of the channel, which in turn was found to be approximately linearly dependent on the number of antennas, assuming a symmetric MIMO channel

A moderate correlation between pathloss and median capacity was found. However, the higher richness can not compensate for the decrease in capacity due to increased pathloss. Assuming a fixed Tx power, the median capacity was found to depend approximately linearly on the pathloss. Opportunistic Frequency Reuse in Cooperative Wireless Cellular Systems 协同无线蜂窝系统中的机会频率复用

The mutual interference among co-channel users greatly limits the performance of cellular wireless systems. In particular, if a tight frequency reuse is employed, intercell interference must be properly handled. In this paper, we propose a cross-layer approach to the interference management, by using a random beamforming strategy and a smart scheduler with joint processing of signals related to different users in the network. Random beamforming is performed at each base station of the system, partial CSI is collected and shared by the network of interfering transmitters, and a scheduler chooses a subset of the users to be transmitted to. Optimization of beamforming in broadcast MIMO channels is precluded by the amount of feedback and complexity required. In this paper we propose to reduce the feedback by employing a random beamforming where a stream can be linearly preceded before being transmitted on the antenna array of each transmitter and the users with channel/interference matched to the beamforming configurations are scheduled at each time. In MIMO system the users can further improve the overall throughput by minimizing the co-channel interference. The feedback necessary to employ the spatial multiplexing can be limited to the signal to interference ratios for a subset of users that are compatible for the random beamforming configuration. In practice, a form of adaptive frequency reuse is performed on the basis of the spatial signal-to-interference ratio distribution among the users. We provide numerical results to compare the performance of our scheme with a form of dynamic channel allocation and opportunistic beamforming
