Two procedures for parameter estimation for linear analog circuits are presented and verified on a pair of magnetic coupled resonators used in wireless power transfer applications. The parameters of interest are those which are difficult or impossible to be measured directly. Starting from the equivalent diagram of the analog circuit in sinusoidal behavior, we build the mathematical model based on the modified nodal approach, and then we generate the network function in full symbolic form to obtain an appropriate frequency space representation. The first technique is based on transfer functions in complex form and some experimental measurements of transfer functions in a number of frequency samples. The second approach is based on the transfer functions and the output error techniques. In this case it is used a minimization routine available in Matlab. A relevant example is treated with both methods.

This paper presents coupled dynamic model of permanent magnet actuator for Braille screen. For modelling of the problem, finite element method and Comsol Multiphysics software are used. An experimental study was also provided over several prototype modules of the studied actuator. The comparison between computed and experimental results shows good agreement.

The paper deals with the aging mechanisms of the power transformer oil insulation. Through the degradation of the electroinsulating paper, a great number of decomposition compounds appears, such as gases, water and solid organic compounds which accelerate the aging process of the mineral oil. As a result of the degradation, redox reactions are developed that amplify the processes of formation of free radicals, or sometimes even of ions that propagate undesirable side reactions in the oil-paper electroinsulation system. The paper analyses the impact of water content on the mineral oil characteristics. The dependence of the breakdown voltage of TR 30 MOL mineral oil on the water content is experimentally obtained, confirming the strongly fall of the electric strength of the oil with increasing of water contents.

In this paper the global heat transfer coefficient law corresponding to two types of superposed crimped connections has been obtained, using experimental and numerical determination. The samples use copper wire crimped by two methods: the first method uses one crimp indents and the second is a proposed method with two crimp indents. The ferrule is a parallel one. For obtaining the experimental results the samples are heated in A.C. current at different current values until steady state heating regime. Then, the 2D model of crimped connections has been created to obtain the numerical results. Using experimental and numerical results, a law for global heat transfer coefficient corresponding to the two types of crimped connections was proposed. The temperature dependence of global heat transfer coefficient has been taking into account.

In the present, the Romanian anti-hail launchers are manually operated. This means that the positioning of the launcher on the two directions (azimuth and elevation) are adjusted based on the commands, by the human operator. The paper describes the implementation and experimental results of the electric drives of the two axes by using permanent magnets synchronous motors (PMSM) supplied by smart drives. The solution offers the possibility of automation and integration of the anti-hail launchers within intelligent systems.

This paper gives an overview of the process of the transformer assessment after transportation. Defective condition, with impact in long-term reliability, is an important concern. Uncertain or false diagnosis is possible and unnecessary tests are often carried out. Transformer acceptance tests include the repetition of some of the factory tests and the Impact recorder data analysis. Acceptance tests also establish a baseline of the electrical and mechanical characteristics that can be used for comparisons throughout the life of the transformer. The FRA method is used to check the possible change in the internal geometry of the active parts of the transformer, displacements, deformations or clamping force loss. In some cases it is impossible to assess the severity of the defects. A new technique for direct measurement of the clamping force is presented. Also, future research and development requirements will be taken into account.

The paper presents the monitoring of the power quality of an underground electric line fed by a high voltage transformer station 110/10 kV and a subsequent earthing fault situation followed by a short circuit. The monitoring process was performed using a power quality analyzer. The analysis of the evolution in time of the phenomena highlights the variations of the voltage in the medium voltage bus of the transformer station during the failure situation.

This paper proposes two different low-cost ferrite solutions: first a V permanent magnet assisted synchronous reluctance rotor (VPMSynRM) and the second a permanent magnet synchronous rotor with flux concentrator (PMSM-FC) as an alternative solution to the rare earth inserted tangential permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). Finite element (FEM) approach has been utilized to show the performance of the proposed rotors. The purpose of the proposed solution is to replace only the rotor of such a PMSM that is already in production, so the size of the stator and the number of windings will remain unchanged. The motivation of this study is to reduce the cost of the rotor by changing the type of PM and by the choice of suitable rotor geometry.

In this paper, we propose an approach for the magnetic and thermal modeling of an encapsulated busbars system, in three-phase execution, for high voltage using QuickField software. The paper proposes a numerical model developed by coupling of the magnetic field problem with the stationary and transient heat field problems for the geometry of a three-phase execution busbars system with common shield. The coupling of problems is realized by importing specific losses from the magnetic field problem as heat sources for thermal field problem. The magnetic field problem is also coupled to the electrical circuit. The electrodynamic forces that occur between conductors in the presence of the ferromagnetic shield have different values compared to those that occur in an unshielded system. In the model it was taken into account the variation of electrical conductivity with the temperature. The global heat transfer coefficient by convection and radiation used in thermal model was estimated using the power losses computed by magnetic model. When evaluating the global heat transfer coefficient was taken into account the temperature dependence of the physical properties of the air. There is a good agreement between numerical and analytical temperature values. The presented model can be used for analysis, design and optimization of three-phase busbars system with common shield.
