Developing a Conceptual Framework for Ubiquitous Buddhism Learning Ecosystem 泛在佛教学习生态系统概念框架的构建

This research aims to synthesize and develop the conceptual framework of the Buddhist learning ecosystem. This consists of two elements: A Ubiquitous Learning Ecosystem which consists of 1) A network on the internet 2) Cooperation with everyone 3) Learning equipment and 4) Available at all times and a Learning Buddhist doctrine with the aim of improving thinking process skills. The aim is to consider reality so that you can learn and develop for the rest of your life. This involves 1) Cleanliness 2) Orderliness 3) Politeness 4) Punctuality and 5) Concentration. The technology is used as a tool for Buddhist propagation because, if traditional Buddhist propagation methods are used, they may not reach all sectors of modern society or the younger generation. Because society currently does not have the time to meditate, listen to sermons, or study the temple's teachings as was the case in the past, the propagation of Buddhist teachings through the Internet is essential.

An Analysis of Causes of Inefficiency in Distance Education at Public Universities in Vietnam 越南公立大学远程教育效率低下的原因分析

∗Distance education is a popular form of education in the world and has proven its outstanding advantages. In Vietnam, this form of education has existed for a long time. To meet the requirements of the modern education model, distance education has made a lot of innovations in terms of program, content as well as the way of conducting. In addition to the universities’ efforts, the State and the educational management institutions of Vietnam always encourage and invest in this type of education. However, in fact, this type of education shows ineffectiveness in the implementation process and increasingly receives low credibility from the learners. Seeing this inadequacy, the authors have conducted a research to explore and analyze the main causes leading to the ineffectiveness of distance training at public universities in Vietnam. The results of this study are the data and information on which universities can base to adjust and improve the effectiveness of distance training.

Towards the Development of Music Mood Classification of Original Pilipino Music (OPM) Songs Based on Audio and Lyrics Keyword 基于音词关键词的菲律宾原创音乐(OPM)歌曲音乐情绪分类研究

This paper presents music mood classification of Original Pilipino Music (OPM) songs, particularly Filipino songs using audio and lyrics information. The song's mood is expressed utilizing musical features, but a relevant part also seems to be conveyed by the keywords to its lyrics. The study evaluates with the help of two music teachers and music analysts each factor independently. It explores the possibility of combining both, using Natural Language Processing and Music Information Retrieval techniques. It shows that standard separation-based strategies and Latent Semantic Analysis can group the verses essentially superior to random. Yet, the exhibition is still very substandard compared to that of sound-based systems. The study presents a technique dependent on contrasts between language models that gives performances closer to sound-based classifiers—in addition, interwinding this in a multimodal framework, which is audio and text. It permits an improvement in the general execution. We exhibit that verses and sound data are corresponding and can be joined to improve an ordered framework.

The Implementation of Blended Learning in Vocational Education: A Case Study in Vietnam from Lecturers’ Perspectives 职业教育中混合式学习的实施:以越南教师为例

This study investigates lecturers’ experiences of employing blended learning in a vocational education context. The participants were six full-time lecturers working in three different departments at the institution. All of them have at least one-year experience teaching in a blended learning setting. Open-ended questions were utilized to collect their conceptions of blended learning, their approaches to teach as well as the challenges they encountered in blended learning courses. Semi-structured interviews were employed, and the lecturers’ responses were content-analyzed. The findings reveal that the lecturers illustrated a wide spectrum of ideas about the nature of blended learning. They also provided information about various approaches they use to teach in the blended learning courses. In addition, a number of challenges confronted by lecturers during the blended learning courses are seen leading to the need to have prompt actions. The findings are valuable for the stake holders at the institution who would like to ensure the quality and sustainability of the blended learning implementation.

Data Protection Measures in E-Society: Policy Implications of British Data Protection Act to China 电子社会中的数据保护措施:英国数据保护法对中国的政策启示

∗Big data-related topics are very fashionable in recent years. However, the problems brought by big data are also emerging one after another. For example, the big data society has brought social security, personal privacy, national security interests, secret protection and other issues, and may also threaten the national economy. Typically, the phenomenon of personal privacy information are abused, stolen, fraudulently used, and data transactions are prevalent. Although China has relevant policy documents to protect personal privacy information, it has not yet formed a special legal system, and the policy documents are scattered. Besides, the enforcement and validity of these documents are difficult to guarantee. The British Data Protection Act is specific legislation on data protection of personal privacy information. As a pioneer of data protection, the British Data Protection Act has been dramatically improved after several revisions. It can effectively protect consumers’ privacy information, which is a piece of legislation worth learning in China.

Understanding Facial Expression Expressing Hate from Online Short-form Videos 从网络短视频看仇恨表情

The impact of hate speech is not only detrimental to an individual's human rights; but also, a grave threat to social stability and democracy. Through social media, the spread of hate speech has alarmingly increased across the globe. Various social media platform's goal is to eliminate hateful content and this challenge poses the need for automatic and accurate hate speech detection. Presently, known techniques in this research primarily made use of either text or audio features. However, the use of the facial expression in hate speech detection is not that explored. Thus, for this study, the use of facial expressions to understand hate speech has been thoroughly investigated. The dataset used is image data generated from Filipino Tiktok videos with a frame size of 1080 x 1920 pixels and divided into 5 frames per second. Two approaches namely conventional and deep learning-based frameworks have been implemented in building the Facial Expression Recognition (FER) model to understand hate speech. Based on the experimentation, the conventional approach using the Random Forest approach has achieved the best performance with 86.9% training accuracy and 84.8% validation accuracy, outperforming the other conventional classifiers and the DL-based approach significantly. For future direction, facial expression features combined with text or audio input type will be implemented to examine whether the use of facial expression can complement or improve hate speech detection models.

Mobile Automated Fingerprint Identification System (MAFIS): An Android-based Criminal Tracking System using Fingerprint Minutiae Structure 移动自动指纹识别系统(MAFIS):一个基于android的基于指纹细节结构的犯罪追踪系统

The Philippines, being an archipelago consisting of 7 640 islands, faces challenges on criminal identification processes turnaround time. All fingerprints recovered from the crime scenes needed to be forwarded to the national headquarter for identification and resolution. These are being compared and matched against a database of known and unknown fingerprints. The result is then delivered back to the requesting agent. In this purview, this study aims to design and develop a Mobile Automated Fingerprint Identification System (MAFIS) – An Android-based Criminal Tracking System. In this study, the prototype developed consists of an android mobile app, a web-based app, and a desktop app extension of the web app. The android mobile app was designed for roaming scenes of the crime operative (SOCO) agents. This allowed remote users deployed on-site to perform an initial inquiry of the latent fingerprint recovered and processed from the crime scene. The mobile app can search, compare, and match against the latent and tenprint databases. If there is a match, the system will display the similarity percentage of the analysis and add or link it to the existing record; otherwise, it will be counted as a new record. It also permits users to view the system dashboard, access the crime management module, search history, and manage profiles. The web-based app has the same capability as the mobile app but with added features like tenprint identification. The web app was primarily designed for police sub-stations deployment used by duty investigators to capture tenprints from law-offenders during the suspect booking process. This can match and identify tenprint from the database. If there is a match, a new criminal record will be added to the existing criminal records of the law offenders. If there is no match, the system will create a new record and store it on the system database.

In this study, the prototype developed consists of an android mobile app, a web-based app, and a desktop app extension of the web app. The android mobile app was designed for roaming scenes of the crime operative (SOCO) agents. This allowed remote users deployed on-site to perform an initial inquiry of the latent fingerprint recovered and processed from the crime scene. The mobile app can search, compare, and match against the latent and tenprint databases. If there is a match, the system will display the similarity percentage of the analysis and add or link it to the existing record; otherwise, it will be counted as a new record. It also permits users to view the system dashboard, access the crime management module, search history, and manage profiles. The web-based app has the same capability as the mobile app but with added features like tenprint identification. The web app was primarily designed for police sub-stations deployment used by duty investigators to capture tenprints from law-offenders during the suspect booking process. This can match and identify tenprint from the database. If there is a match, a new criminal record will be added to the existing criminal records of the law offenders. A Correlational Analysis Between Time Spent on Playing Video Games and Real-Life Skills of 1st Year and 2nd Year Students of National University-Manila's Wizard's Circle 马尼拉国立大学巫师圈一、二年级学生玩电子游戏时间与现实技能的相关性分析

Video game is an electronic game that involves interaction among users or other players within a specific platform. Video gaming has been around for a long time that it became one of the most significant money-making industries. Moreover, most people who do not understand how the game works might think that reading books or listening to podcast is much better than playing video games, not realizing that it is a coping mechanism for some individuals. The researchers conducted a correlational study analysis between time spent on playing video games and real-life skills. A lot of students find comfort and relaxation while playing these games, not realizing the skills they could acquire and enhance. Several studies suggest that playing video games can enhance real-life skills, which we use in school, work, or in a daily basis. As Barr discussed, playing video games for an average of fourteen (14) hours per day can improve one's graduate attributes. Various studies also concluded that video games could exercise students’ logical skills, resilience, and critical thinking skills. This research comprises six (6) real-life skills: Problem-Solving Skills, Strategical-Thinking Skills, Reaction Time, Communication Skills, Decision-Making Skills, and Critical-Thinking Skills. The three (3) skills were interpreted by a six (6) point-Likert Scale. While the reaction time skill was tested thru the use of the human benchmark website reaction time test. On the other hand, the critical thinking skill was divided into five (5) sections: Arguments, Assumptions, Deductions, Interpreting information, and Inferences. The researchers chose the quantitative approach by conducting an online survey and the sampling technique used to acquire the data is the voluntary response sampling technique. Once data is gathered, each skill's overall correlation coefficient was computed using Pearson's' R formula. Results show that out of the six (6) skills the greatest improvement goes to the communication skill, followed by the strategical thinking skill, the reaction time, the critical thinking, the decision making and lastly, the problem-solving skill. This study's objective is to determine whether players’ long hours of gaming enhance real-life skills and use it in real-life situations.

This paper explored the option transactions on Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) in January 2017 and investigated mispricing by testing the violation of boundary conditions, put-call-parity, and Black-Scholes model. Scrutinizing all 1,048,575 transactions, the group discovered a considerable amount of mispricing as well as associated arbitrage opportuni-ties. In this paper, the group will present and categorize the discovered mispricing and conceptualize a trend of arbitrage opportunities that will help readers to profit from the mispricing dynamically.

Selecting Potential Medical Professional Ability Students in Chinese NCEE by Predicting GPA through Data Mining 基于GPA预测的中国高考医学专业潜力人才筛选

The “Trinity” Comprehensive Evaluation Enrollment (TCEE) of colleges and universities is one enrollment reform of Chinese National College Entrance Examination (NCEE) since 2012. But how to select students with professional qualifications by predicting academic performance after admission is a problem requiring an urgent solution. This paper analyzed the academic achievements and registration datasets of students admitted by Wenzhou Medical University via TCEE and established a classifier by using a decision tree, support vector machine and Bayesian network. A nested integrated studying method was then adopted and accuracy, precision, recall, and specificity indicators were used to evaluate model performance. Model performance of the bagged classifier for nested decision tree was found the most suitable. Findings are conducive to optimizing the selection scheme of the TCEE and improving managerial decision making.
高校“三位一体”综合评价招生是2012年以来中国高考的一项招生改革。但是,如何通过预测学生入学后的学习成绩来选拔具有专业资格的学生,是一个迫切需要解决的问题。本文对温州医科大学高考录取学生的学业成绩和报名数据集进行分析,利用决策树、支持向量机和贝叶斯网络建立分类器。采用嵌套综合研究方法,采用准确率、精密度、召回率和特异性指标评价模型性能。发现套袋分类器的模型性能最适合嵌套决策树。研究结果有助于优化高职高专人才选拔方案,提高管理决策水平。
