The article discusses the most important opinions of Bulgarian scholars on rich women burials in ancient Thracia. Analysis of subsequent sites, along with the newest archaeological discoveries (in particular, a burial from mound 47 at Smjadovo), makes possible to conclude that such burials really existed on the discussed territory, or at least on its part.

As a result of the last decade comprehensive studies on the chronology of the Yelshanian Culture, some spectacular results of radiocarbon dates were achieved. According to these data, the beginnings of ceramic cultures („Neolithic”1) of the Mid-Volga Region have been dated back to the second half of the 8th millennium BC.

Discussion presented in the article is based upon analysis of glass fragments from the late La Tene oppidum. Existence of the jewellery manufacture workshop in Stare Hradisko, producing bracelets and possibly also beads of dark-blue, dark-yellow and green glass of external origin, is speculated based upon chemical composition of 5 fragments as well as morphological analysis. Further complex studies are postulated, which will facilitate unequivocal testing of the speculation about existence of glass works in StareHradisko. Analysed samples revealed presence of the soda-calcium-aluminium-silicon as well as the soda-calcium-lead-aluminium-silicon glass.

The article presents results of dendrochronological investigations of wooden constructions of the rampart of early medieval stronghold in Bnin (current location Kómik-Bnin), of which a well preserved stone-wooden-earthen fortifications are among the best recognized in Wielkopolska. The site was excavated in the years 1961-1969. The relicts of two phases of the rampart construction discovered in so-called northern trench were dated to the end of the 12,h - beginning of the 13lh century. Based on results of dendrochronological dates of 25 samples taken in 1994, a discovered part of the rampart was constructed in two phases with a break in the year 939. The older construction was finished in 938, while the younger one in 940.
