This study examines the University-Industry (UI) interface, in Triple Helix (TH) Model. In the era of Knowledge-based Economy, the Third Mission generates new value that depending from UI interface. New businesses, revealed with the Spin-offs creation, catalyzed by this interface, aims to commercialize the results coming from research activities. The purpose of this article is to understand features of an UI interface in order to support adequately the spin-off establishment and reduce the risk of not overcome the Death Valley. The study was conducted through direct interviews to 39 CEOs of the University of Salento' spin-offs. So, applying Social Network Analysis (SNA) and Sentiment Analysis (SA) techniques, four clusters of main emerged themes and the relative text sentiment were identified.

The business environment has become fiercely competitive due to higher customer expectations. The fierce competition has forced companies to enhance their competitiveness which leads to a need of supply chain performance measurement. Its existing tool appropriate and used broadly for SMEs in Thailand is the supply chain assessment tool (SCPAT) of Banomyong and Supatn. The SCPAT is capable of quantitatively measuring and evaluating individual supply chain measures, but not considering their causal linkages as holistic system thinking. This paper aims to develop a CAusaL Linkage-based Systematic tool (CALLS) as an extension of the SCPAT. The developed CALLS were successfully validated in an industrial case. It provided suggestions based on sensitivity analyses to the causal supply chain measures.

Recently, total variation based image deconvolution has shown its superior performance. The restoration quality is generally sensitive to the value of regularization parameter. In this work, we develop a data-driven optimization scheme based on minimization of Stein's unbiased risk estimate (SURE)—statistically equivalent to mean squared error (MSE). Based on a typical alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM), we propose a recursive evaluation of SURE for any given regularization parameter, where the optimal value is identified by the minimum SURE. Numerical experiments show that the proposed method leads to highly accurate estimate of regularization parameter and nearly optimal deconvolution.

This paper proposes a constraint-free model and a budget-constrained model to determine the optimal air travel policy in terms of the seat upgrading. The approach strikes a balance between cost-saving and the boosted productivity by upgrading the employees to higher classes. We specify a benefit function based on the Hensher Equation's core idea and leverage economics assumptions of the marginal productivity of labor. The study fills the blank of the literature in terms of modelling framework, and the usage of a large multinational company's booking records to solve for an exemplary optimal travel policy.

When some agents in the supply chain are failure, the whole supply chain may be influenced. This paper presents a framework for identifying vulnerable agents in supply chain network. The framework consists of three main components: supply chain dynamic network, risk transmission model, and identifying vulnerable nodes. The supply chain dynamic network component consists of constructing the supply chain dynamic network according to the topology structure. The risk transmission model component researches on the risk transmission mechanism among nodes, and constructs a concept model which takes both influence degree between two agents, and the contribution rate of each edge into account to measure the vulnerability of each node, the last component uses the fuzzy theory to calculate the vulnerability of each node based on the dynamic network. Such a solving strategy can get the vulnerability, which fits better to the real condition, some numerical experiments are also performed to validate the effectiveness of proposed models.

Collaborative organization and relationship stability is crucial for the success of knowledge collaboration network (KCN). Member loss and knowledge loss are the severe challenges for the KCN stability. This study explores the stability of KCN facing the member and knowledge loss based on the super-network model. Considering there mainly are two types of factors in KCN: members and their knowledge, a weighted super-network model for KCN is proposed by integrating the two types of node firstly. Based on the weighted super-network model, some stability metrics are proposed pertinently. Case study is provided to illustrate the application of the proposed model and stability analysis method.

This paper addresses the situation of a Bamboo Panel Company as a part of the Program for Research Stimulation, Technological Development and Innovation of the NATIONAL COUNCIL OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY. Specifically, on the Strategic Planning: Systemic Diagnosis and Performance Indicators through the Balanced Scorecard. The identification of the productive chain is presented. The vision and the mission are revised and the general strategy and the policies are determined. Another of the deliverables was the “Performance Indicators”, but they were not intended to establish solely the relation to the productive process; they were indicators that really aligned the organization with its strategy to lead it to achieve its vision. The results of this research are the basis of the actions undertaken to make the process more efficient: semiautomate the process with a machine specially designed to assemble bamboo panels, determine a layout, invest on training of employees, among others.

Value chain accounting is a new field of accounting. It is an integration of value chain management theory, supply chain management theory, accounting theory and information technology. Traditional accounting reports are unstructured documents, such as PDF, DOC, HTML, and even printed versions of paper. The accounting information provided by them are difficult to query and analyze. Furthermore, they cannot provide useful information required by information users. The objective of XBRL based Value Chain Accounting is to provide an efficient and reliable accounting information report methodology. This methodology can facilitate the users on the value chain to collect and analysis the accounting information timely and accurately. This paper investigates the interaction mechanism of the information disclosing tools and the value effectiveness which brought by XBRL. This research found out that the application of XBRL on the accounting information flow processing will enhance the XBRL technology and improve the usefulness of value chain accounting information.
