Abstract Background : Corn cobs have the potential to protect the skin, so far the research has only been limited to testing the extracts and has not been formed in a cosmetic preparation. Gel is a cosmetic preparation that is ideal for sunscreens because it is less oily, not sticky, soft, elegant, can form a layer of film that adheres well and protects the skin, and evaporation of water content creates a soothing and pleasant effect. Method: The method is used to determine the physical appearance of the gel with organoleptic parameters, homogeneity, dispersion and absorbency. Result: The purpose of this study was to determine the results of the physical test of sunscreen gel preparations from corn cobs extract (Zea mays L). Conclusion: The physical test results from the sunscreen gel extract of corn cobs extract (Zay Mays L.) had the results of organoleptic test, homogeneity test, spreadability test and adherence to the standard.

Abstract Background: Childbirth is the outcome of a process of conception (the baby) to live from the uterus to the outside world. In the process of spending the baby frequent injury in the birth canal or perineal wound (Mochtar, 2012). The purpose of this study to prove the effect of perineal bandage to cure the perineal wound. Method: The research design was quasi experiment with untreated control group design. Samples in this researh were some post partum mother who suffered wounds perineum in BPM Klaten some 118 people. Bivariate data analysis using statistical test used was t – tes. Result: Results from this study is that there was no influence the bandage perineum (kempitan) to cure maternal perineal wound. Perineum will cause pain and discomfort to the mother postpartum, with pain and swelling in the perineum makes the mother fear for early mobilization, to overcome this, the mother post partum have bandaging perineum (kempitan) to reduce pain and swelling, so the mother post partum can do early mobilization. Conclusion: If the mother can do early mobilization so that the maternal perineal wound may be able cured as soon as possible. Bandaging perineum (kempitan) is a bandage on the perineum given after using sanitary apkins and panty to reduce pain and swelling.

Abstract Background: Javanese people, especially those living in the city of Solo, try to overcome the difficulty of eating children by providing special herbal medicine for children which is better known as jamu cekok. It’s believed to have efficacy as a child's appetite stimulant, as a herb that can kill irritating worms in the body of a child. This study aimed to determine the effect of herbal medicine on weight gain and the amount of food consumed by mice. Method: This research design usedpre clinicaltria in mice. The sample consisted of 60 mice divided into 3 groups, namely 20 control groups, 20 treatment groups I (given 0.25 ml slices) and Treatment Group II (given 0.5 ml of stress). Result: The time for conducting research January 2016 s.d. June 2016 at the GadjahMada University Pharmacy Laboratory Yogjakarta. The results of the analysis of herbal medicine had an effect on the weight gain with the results in the intervention group 1, the consumption of herbal medicine decreased the weight of rats by 24.3%. and in the intervention group 2 decreased the mouse rats by 0.1%. Choking affects the amount of food left over. Conclusion: The results showed that the mice given 0.25 ml less rest (amounting to 0.570 and this decrease occurred very significantly indicated by the p value <0.000) compared to those given 0.50 ml and control group.
