Highlights of Earned Value Analysis in Construction Projects 建设项目挣值分析要点

Construction projects are typically carried out under high-risk conditions and managers are forced to handle a great deal of uncertainty during the construction process. The Earned-Value Analysis is a control technique that provides early warnings of performance by quantitative measures, enabling timely corrective actions to ensure project success. This method was developed to control and adjust the project's baseline during execution. The objective of this article is to discuss the main implications of using EVA in construction projects through a case study. Results proved the applicability of the method in the construction industry. The various indicators generated allow managers to make forecasts for optimistic, realistic, and pessimistic scenarios, having the opportunity to correct any deviations in advance. In addition to forecasts, benchmarking data can be generated for the planners or companies responsible for the project, thus increasing the accuracy of future projects.

Considerations Regarding the Extension of the Service Life of Metal Wear Components from Urban Means of Rail Transport 延长城市轨道交通工具金属磨损件使用寿命的思考

The paper presents proposals for technical solutions based on the interest shown by transport companies in the country to reduce the cost of maintenance of means of transport by increasing the service life of metal components that, in traffic, are subject to a severe process of wear degradation. Specifically, the paper proposes solutions to solve these problems in the case of urban public transport by rail (tram). The results obtained by ISIM Timisoara (implemented at public transport companies in the country) in the field of reintroduction into operation of used metal components from trams are presented. It also presents new, innovative and efficient technical ideas and solutions, from the point of view of the cost / performance ratio and in compliance with the conditions for guaranteeing traffic safety. It is proposed to design and implement a flexible, complex and high-performance automated system for the reconditioning of tram wear components.The implementation of the proposed automated solutions will ensure: significantly increasing the service life of parts subject to wear, reducing the costs of loading with functional layers by increasing productivity, improving part quality due to automation of the loading process, use of constant process parameters, established, controllable during process. Innovative solutions are also proposed for: mobile automated inspection system for determining the degree of wear of tram wheel bandages; method of real-time monitoring of the welding loading process; technical solution to protect the rubber damping elements against overheating and degradation (the solution allows the tires to be reconditioned without removing them from the wheels).Accurate and efficient uses of automated systems, process programming units are specific approaches to the development and modernization of welding and reconditioning technologies by welding.

Influence of 3D Printing Parameters on Mechanical Properties of the PLA Parts Made by FDM Additive Manufacturing Process 3D打印参数对FDM增材制造PLA零件力学性能的影响

Paper presents the results of factorial experiments made to establish the influence of technological parameters of 3D printing using the Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) Technology, on the mechanical properties of the material deposited with ULTRA PLA filaments. By planning the experiments and the statistical processing of the results, mathematical relations were established regarding the dependence between the objective functions, the controllable factors and their interactions. To obtain high tensile strengths of the components made by 3D printing, regimes are required to allow the deposition of layers as thin as possible (h = 0.1 mm) and temperatures as high as possible, close to 300°C. The choice of inappropriate values of these process parameters can lead to a significant decrease in tensile strength, reaching even up to 30-40% of the maximum possible value to be reached. The experiments reveal that the printing speed does not have a major influence on the mechanical properties. Practical, the printing speed is limited by the technical characteristics of the printer used. The results of the experimental research obtained on a number of 30 process variants led to the establishment of optimal 3D printing variants that correspond to the requirements imposed on the objectively analysed functions (tensile strength, dimensional accuracy, speed of execution, surface quality).

Investigation on the Correlation between CNC Spindle Current Value and Tool Wear 数控主轴电流值与刀具磨损相关性研究

Metal cutting is the commonly used method in mechanical design, and the tool is the most important key factor in metal cutting. When the tool is severely worn, it will cause the tool to break. This article takes the current value of machining precision turret as an example to study the relationship between current value and tool wear. We used statistical mathematical models to predict tool life and used scatter diagrams to verify the timing of tool change and the actual degree of tool wear, to achieve accurate prediction and reduce tool waste. In our experiment, the core part of the indexing plate (turret) is machined by the horizontal machining center, The CCD image capture system was utilized to evaluate cutting tool wear. Three methods are analyzed to predict tool wear and current. The probability statistical mathematical model shows good match to predict the tool life. it is possible to find out the holes with poor quality caused by tool wear and calculate the exchange rate.

Development of a Pico-Hydro Electric Generator with 3D-Printed Pelton Turbine 3d打印佩尔顿水轮机微型水力发电机的研制

Most farmers in Bataan, Philippines are using diesel pump system to irrigate their crops. In this system, water is pumped out continuously during cropping period and one may think that the water is being squandered because the diesel pump operates for about eight to ten hours a day. Furthermore, with the high price of Diesel nowadays, the irrigation system seems to be a burden to most crop farmers. The proponents thought of applying the pico-hydroelectric generation technology to add value to the system. Specifically in this study, the proponents aimed to develop a pico-hydroelectric generator with 3D-printed Pelton turbine to be installed in diesel pump irrigation system, and be able to harness the energy from the flowing water and convert it into useful electric energy which can be used for lighting and for charging electronic gadgets.

3D-Printing for Cube Satellites (CubeSats): Philippines‘ Perspectives 3d打印立方体卫星(CubeSats):菲律宾的观点

The increase in space exploration missions in recent years gave way to the development of a volume-efficient and cost-effective nanosatellite like the cube satellite (CubeSat) which can be developed and fabricated in a relatively short time. With its size and design, CubeSat parts like casings can be produced and assembled through 3D printing to produce inexpensive satellites. Research in this area is undeniably important to maximize the rapid development of CubeSats. While progress has been made, challenges remain in applying 3D printing technology in the development of CubeSats. In this paper, the current status regarding the advancement of 3D printing for CubeSat applications is discussed. First, important issues about the common materials for CubeSat and potentially 3D printing materials for CubeSats are addressed. Second, 3D printing CubeSat parts through the feasible structure design models by combining material and parameter designs are explored from a wide range of references. And also, 3D printing of cube satellite parts by DOST AMCen and STAMINA4Space has also been demonstrated. Lastly, an outlook on the future direction of the 3D printed CubeSat for the Philippines space program is provided.Keywords: Cube satellite, CubeSat, 3D printing, high-performance polymers

We investigate the characteristics of polycrystalline Silicon (poly-Si) thin films for solar cells produced by very high frequency (VHF) plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition using a conductive scanning probe microscope (SPM). We measure the surface morphology and local current images are simultaneously of the poly-Si layers with a thickness, d=2 mm, formed on textured Ag/SnO2/glass in the range of RMS based-textured substrate (a) s=85nm, (b) s=42nm and (c) s=2nm respectively. Influences of the substrate texture on the crystal growth as well as the local current flow are discussed. Where we found that the average of local current proportional with crystallinity, where the poly-Si layer that has rich crystallinity indicated low conductivity that yield high local current.

Development of 3D-Printed Agricultural Drone (Ardufarmer) 3d打印农业无人机(Ardufarmer)的开发

This study addresses the labor crisis that the agriculture industry faces and the need for an alternative planting technology for farmers. Ardufarmer is a seed sowing machine that combines the emerging additive manufacturing technology and quadcopter robotics to form an alternative broadcast farming method that efficiently covers a given land area in the least amount of time through planting toolsets: seed reservoir, dispenser valve, drill, Arduino, and GPS programming. The quadcopter development includes designing the drone fuselage and seed dispenser, three-dimensional printing (3D printing) the parts under different settings, simulation and analysis of 3D-printed parts, and programming the Arduino board and GPS mechanism. The drone was tested in different land areas in terms of time spent. The study shows that the planting rate of the drone is more efficient at 36.41 seconds in 50 square meters than manual planting at 144 seconds in 50 square meters. The Ardufarmer was tested in terms of height, time spent, and spreading diameter in different land areas. The device can effectively sow seeds in 12 seconds per square meter. The study also shows that the minimum percentage relative time saving of the proposed drone technology is 74.72%.

An Electrical Model of a Solid Polymer Electrolyte Cell 固体聚合物电解质电池的电学模型

Solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) produces hydrogen and oxygen from pure water uses electrochemical reaction, and this process is believed to be the most promising and efficient way to produce hydrogen. For application and simulation, the electrical model of SPE is absolutely required, we intend to develop an electrical model. Where the model has been constructed based on the structure and characteristics of SPE. The electrical model of SPE battery like that consists of a voltage and resistance, that fulfil the equation v=1.936+ 0.0183I-0.013T, to ensure that this model is close to the character of the SPE, we conducted an experiment to validate it, based on the correlation analysis method we obtained those results of the experiment and results of calculation of the model have a correlation is > 0.9988, this meaning that the model is valid.

Experimental Investigation of Thermal Assessment of Smart Passive Cooling System 智能被动冷却系统热评估的实验研究

Energy consumption in conventional domestic housing in Oman is quite high due to cost intensive mechanical air conditioning systems. For the climate conditions in Oman, it is expected that energy conservation using smart passive cool roof will be valuable and significant. This paper presents the thermal assessment and energy efficiency of a novel forced convective evaporative cooling system with radiation reflector. The results revealed that the proposed smart passive cool system can reduce the indoor air temperature of the building models, with highest reduction in the room and roof surface temperature of 13.07 °C (36.7%) and 66.42 °C (75.7%) respectively. This is due to its ability to inhibit solar radiation and dissipate heat by evaporation, forced convection due to the dynamic behavior of air in the air ventilation between primary and secondary roofs, and nocturnal radiation. The research has conclusively demonstrated that the smart passive cool roof system presented significantly lower the heat fluxes through the roofs and can be applied to residential and commercial buildings for energy consrvation
