Automatic singing evaluating system based on acoustic features and rhythm 基于声学特征和节奏的自动歌唱评价系统

This paper proposes an automatic singing evaluation system. The system provides the user with the score that was assessed by acoustic features and the rhythmic similarity between the original song and the user input. The assessment system is divided into two stages. In the first stage, acoustic similarities are measured by dynamic time warping (DTW). In the second stage, the rhythmic similarity is measured by analysing the optimal path of DTW by quadratic polynomial regression. Finally, the similarity of two stages is combined into one score by corresponding weights. The experimental results show the good performance for the automatic singing evaluation system.

An overview of kernel based nonnegative matrix factorization 基于核的非负矩阵分解综述

Nonnegative matrix factorization (NMF) is a recent method used to decompose a given data matrix into two nonnegative sparse factors. There are many techniques applied to enhance abilities of NMF, particularly kernel technique which discovering higher-order correlation between data points and obtaining more powerful latent features. This paper presents an overview of kernel methods on NMF along with its representation and recent variants. The development as well as algorithms for kernel based NMF are discussed and presented systematically.

A constructive courseware design for nursing education: Using intramuscular injection as a case 一种建设性的护理教学课件设计:以肌内注射为例

Learning is the major human activity which can make people to accommodate the environment or the society better. The effectiveness of learning is one important research issue in orange technology. The learning effectiveness of nurse education is more important than the other types of educations. In this paper, we proposed a work which develops a simulation-based digital courseware for intramuscular injection training in nurse education, to improve the learning effectiveness of practical nursing care training. The design of courseware is guided by the constructivism. In addition, the scenario simulation and game are involved to enhance the learning motivation. Moreover, the course has been successfully applied on the nursing students in Taiwan.

A component-based design method of Remote Diagnostic System 基于组件的远程诊断系统设计方法

We propose a component-based design method of Remote Diagnostic System. The proposed method exploits business process model and component hierarchy model, by analyzing existing systems. By incorporating this method into Remote Diagnostic System domain development process, we can maximize the reuse and development efficiency of systems which are usually suffered by conventional design methods. The practice that the system has been put into use in Zhejiang University Telemedicine Network at present has proved that Remote Diagnostic System has a wider application by component technology.

A novel feature generation method based on nonlinear signal decomposition for automatic heart sound monitoring 一种基于非线性信号分解的心音自动监测特征生成方法

This work presents a novel feature generation method for automatic heart sound monitoring system based on the nonlinear signal decomposition and the instantaneous characteristics of the decomposed components. In this work, first, the heart sounds (normal and abnormal) are decomposed by complementary ensemble empirical mode decomposition (CEEMD). Next, first five subcomponents are chosen empirically for further process. The instantaneous characteristics including instantaneous energy (IE) and frequency (IF) are estimated using Teager energy operator (TEO). After that, disregarding the energy and frequency information, total five IE versus IF maps are constructed. Then, the five IE-IF values transferred into a single feature space and using K-means algorithm, five mean values are selected. Further, a code book is constructed by vector quantization (VQ) method for the learning and future reference purpose. The experiment is performed on total 23 different classes of heart sounds including the normal and abnormal cases, collected from the Michigan Heart Sound and Murmur Database. The results indicate that the proposed method can achieve a recognition rate of 98%. Furthermore, a comparison with previous methods reveals that the proposed approach is superior. In contrast, the method is totally independent of any prior assumptions.

Speech enhancement using orthogonal matching pursuit algorithm 语音增强的正交匹配追踪算法

This paper proposes a novel approach for speech enhancement based on compressed sensing (CS) theory. Each frame of noisy speech signal is sparsified firstly by using discrete cosine transform (DCT). Then we divide each frame into the noisy sub-frame and the clear sub-frame with a soft thresholding method to obtain the threholded DCT coefficients of the noisy sub-frames. After that, the partial Hadamard ensemble is used as a sensing matrix to achieve compressive measurement of the DCT coefficients of noisy sub-frame. Finally, We use the orthogonal matching pursuit in order to recover the de-noised speech signal from noisy sub-frame. Both objective and subjective experiments are employed to compare the proposed approach with the subspace method and the spectral subtraction method. Experimental results shows that proposed method outperforms other methods with the highest PESQ, ABX and MOS score for Gaussian white noise and most kinds of colour noise.

Visual tracking based on the color attention preserved sparse generative object model 基于颜色注意保留稀疏生成对象模型的视觉跟踪

A new color attention preserved sparse generative object model is proposed to handle occlusion and illumination variations in the visual tracking task. The color attention is represented by the fast calculated color descriptor on color names, which is used to weight the similarity measurement of the sparse generative model. In the sparse generative model, the image region of the object is divided into patches. And we take into consideration of the spatial information of each patch to handle the occlusion. The color attention assists the sparse generative model to match the spatial structure of the object and handle illumination variation and heavy occlusion on the object. The update scheme considers both the original template and the latest observations, which enables the tracker to deal with appearance change effectively and alleviate the drifting problem. Experiments on the several video databases under the influence of various factors demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method.

Multi-level smile intensity measuring based on mouth-corner features for happiness detection 基于嘴角特征的多层次微笑强度测量

This work presents a low-complexity algorithm for multi-level smile intensity measurement based on mouth-corner features (MCFs). The proposed MCFs-based algorithm uses the mouth region images and accumulates the value of enhanced grayscale pixels along the horizontal axis. To further analyze the mouth shape, the local maximum information of the accumulated values is extracted to identify the height and width sizes of an opening mouth. Finally, the normalized threshold method is adopted to measure the smile intensity. The experimental results have shown that the proposed approach can achieve an average accuracy rate of 80% for the smiling measuring with four different levels of intensity. Moreover, the proposed algorithm can measure the smile intensity in a multi-face environment. Such results have demonstrated the efficiency and the feasibility of proposed algorithm.

A light-weight system for detecting indoor wandering of demented elders living alone 一种用于检测独自生活的痴呆老人室内漫游的轻型系统

Wandering can be seen as one of the most frequent and dangerous behaviors of the elderly with dementia, bringing negative effects on their physical and mental health and heavy caring burden on stakeholders. In order to detect the indoor wandering of demented elders living alone in real time, this paper proposes a light-weight wandering detection system named LWDS. Specifically, the LWDS system first collects the location information with timestamp using a pair of pyroelectric infrared sensors mounted on the doors of each room, and then classifies the ongoing trajectory consisting of a series of locations into different wandering locomotion patterns according to an established wandering model. After a trajectory has been detected as containing wandering behavior, the developed system will send an alert to their carers for necessary treatment. The non-intrusive and easy-to-deploy properties ensure the proposed LWDS system can find wandering behaviors in a cost-effective and energy-efficient manner around the clock. An experimental evaluation conducted on a group of real data collected from two elders showed that the LWDS is effective in detecting indoor wandering when they moved across different rooms and obtained a detection ratio of more than 90.03% for the wandering patterns.

A Doppler frequency estimation algorithm based on band mismatch 一种基于波段失配的多普勒频率估计算法

The Doppler frequency shift can make a mismatch in frequency band between the linear frequency modulation (LFM) signal and its matched filter. The amplitude and delay of the output pulse are based on the degree of the mismatch. An algorithm of Doppler frequency estimation is proposed basing on the amplitude of the output pulse. The algorithm sets a group of matched filters whose middle frequencies increase in an established pattern. When the echo pulse goes through them, the outputs will appear in different amplitudes and delays. The Doppler frequency is calculated by the two pulses whose amplitude is the biggest. The delay of echo will be compensated by the estimated Doppler frequency, which may achieve the target's precise location. Compared to standard processing of matched filtering, this algorithm dosen't cost more time. In addition, the Hyper-Rayleigh limit estimation can be achieved in the condition of a appropriate signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). The principle is discussed in this paper, and the simulation illustrates the feasibility and effectiveness of the algorithm.
