In this paper, a nonlinear optimal control law based on a quadratic cost function is developed, and applied on a half-car model for the control of active suspension systems. Nonlinear model of half-car is constructed using the nonlinear dynamics of the electro hydraulic actuator and dynamic characteristics of the dampings and springs. The states of half car model are first predicted by Taylor series expansion and then a control law is introduced by minimizing the local differences between the predicted and desired states. The derived control law has an analytical form which is easy to apply and also it is not required online numerical computations in optimization. Performance of the nonlinear optimal controller is compared to the existing passive suspension system. The obtained results demonstrate that use of the proposed nonlinear optimal control technique improves the tradeoff between ride quality and suspension travel compared to the passive suspension system.

Access control is a part of software systems which hasn’t presented as an independent part of software development process. It is often used after Software development and applies access policies. In this paper we present an approach to implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) using prime numbers in programming languages. Security Policies are able to be applied on applications source code using this approach. A major goal of our implementation is to have elegant solution, minimal changes to the source code and can implement concurrent to software implementation phase.

One of the most important problems for Peer-topeer (P2P) system is searching and retrieving the correct information based on the query request. In this paper, we will discuss several existing resource discovery mechanisms that have been widely implemented in P2P networks. Thus, we are classifying the P2P systems based on their resource discovery mechanisms. Consequently, we will present taxonomy for P2P resource discovery as a hierarchy based on our classification. The classification is done for seek out generalities amongst resource discovery mechanisms. We also specifically highlight on issues related to challenges for providing the resource discovery mechanism to the P2P networks. Issues related to matrix for measuring the cost and benefit for choosing the right resource discovery mechanism for a P2P system will conclude the paper.

Path planning of spherical robots is usually carried out based on a continuous motion. However, actuators such as stepping motors are driven by discrete input signals that generate motion in rotational steps. The results would therefore be different from the continuous path planned for the spherical robot. The spherical robot under study incorporates two stepping motors, which generate the rotation increments. This incremental rotation inputs cause error and deviate the robot from the desired path. The result of such discretization of actuating input is studied here. The robot path is simulated using the inverse kinematics relations. As the angular steps decrease with better resolution of motors, the motion approaches the path expected for continuous motion.

In this paper, we compare two strategies for the integration of a compression module in the automatic summarization chain. The first strategy, that we call precompression uses sentence compression in the first stage of summarization by producing all reduced forms of original sentences. The second strategy, called post-compression, reduces extract’s sentences in order to generate the final extract. The experiment results are presented on a document set extracted from the DUC’04 evaluation conference.

Web mining is the use of data mining technologies to automatically interact and discover information from web documents, which can be in structured, unstructured or semi- structured form. The web has become a major vehicle in performing research and education related activities for researches and students. There is tremendous amount of information and knowledge existing on the web and waiting to be discovered, shared and utilized. We present an enterprise web framework regarding semantic web and mining in training institute, which can be used to not only improve the quality of web mining results but also enhances the functions and services and the interoperability of educational information systems and standards in the educational field. Mining the educational information on the web we are using new Semantic Web Mining technologies, such as Resource description Framework (RDF) and Web Ontology Language (OWL). For on line educational institute web site two important ontology’s would need to be built one ontology describing all the educational services provided, with the relation between each other and the other ontology describing the web site. Thus semantic web ontology help build better web mining analysis in educational institute and web mining in-turns helps contract basis more powerful ontology in education.

This paper presented the effects of attenuation from rain rate together with rain drop size distribution analysis on the model of transmitter broadband satellite in Ka-band frequency. We illustrated a new model by simulating transmission broadband signal and studied the rain attenuation which has effects to high frequency. The results of the model were represented by the relation between error probability and S/N. Moreover, the numbers of re-transmission cycles for completing the amount of data were also presented. The attenuation would be illustrated in log normal distribution forms and in PDF terms. The simulation would be run by taking error probability (Pe) of noise at 0.4, 0.04, 0.004 and 0.004. "

This paper gives the object behavior model of software, describes the interactive relationship between classes by sequence diagram and the state change of classes by state diagram. In the concrete process of modeling, this paper first uses UML modeling language to construct the structural model and behavioral model of the system and then uses integrated modeling method to establish the UML/OOPN model of software to carry out analysis and verification from another angle. Finally, it gives the general principle and design example of database design and interface design of the system.

Based on the analysis of defects of traditional evolutionary algorithms in solving global optimization of non-linear or multi-modal function, a novel evolutionary algorithm called Multi-Stage Evolutionary Algorithm (MSEA) is proposed. MSEA has many new features. It develops some new operators such as multi-parent crossover operator with elite-preservation, dynamical mutation operator, space contraction operator, etc; It introduces a new multi-stage algorithm framework. The simulation results on some typical test problems show that MSEA proposed in this paper is better than existing evolutionary algorithm in the accuracy of solutions.

ECG signal processing is one of the earliest challenges for scientists as a tool for cardiovascular assessment. T-wave, as a part of ECG signal, is produced by ventricular repolarisation and its orientation usually corresponds with that of the QRS complex. Inverted T-wave in some leads can be a sign of abnormality. In this work we proposed a real-time algorithm to detect the polarity and symmetry of T-wave in those leads that contain positive R-peak. Abnormalities like myocardial ischaemia, can be identified by the proposed algorithm. This method is applied on 15 records of MIT-BIH of Physionet, in order to evaluate its performance. The real-time behavior of the algorithm makes it possible to be implemented on an ECG machine.
