Incorporation of Carbon in SiGe has attracted great interest, which makes SiGeC based heterojunction transistors as an attractive device for high frequency applications. Carbon addition in SiGe dramatically reduces out-diffusion of Boron caused by excess of interstitials generated by extrinsic base implantation. However Carbon incorporation negatively influences the electrical device characteristics. In this paper we investigate active implantation defects, the aim was to the specify space localization and parasitic effects of this ones. Second, we investigate the impact of Carbon content on the electrical characteristics of devise, the results show that indeed C contents ≥ 1% severely degrade transistor performances.

Currently, to improve the accuracy and efficiency of fault diagnosis using intelligent information technology has become the development trend of fault diagnosis technology. The fault diagnosis technology character of current complex devices was analyzed firstly in the paper. Then, aim at the uncertain reasoning problem in the fault diagnosis, a weighted fuzzy logic reasoning algorithm that is more suitable for practical engineering application was brought out. At the same time, to improve the fault diagnosis efficiency, a formalize algorithm for diagnosis reasoning by use of the parallel process capability of Petri nets was also provided. Finally, an example was used to verify the proposed methods in the paper.

This paper presents a neuro-based approach for Iran annual gasoline demand forecasting by several socio-economic indicators. In order to analyze the influence of economic and social indicators on the gasoline demand, the gross domestic product (GDP), the population and the total number of vehicles are selected. This approach is structured as a multi-level artificial neural network (ANN) based on supervised multi-layer perceptron (MLP), trained with the backpropagation (BP) algorithm. This multi-level ANN is designed properly. Actual data of Iran from 1968-2006 is used to train the multi-level ANN and illustrate capability of the approach in this regard. Comparison of the model predictions with data of the evaluating period shows validity of the model. Furthermore, the demand for the period of 2007 to 2030 is estimated.

Being the closest model of the biological neuron, the spiking neuron is the third and newest generation of artificial neuron. The particularity of this neuron is the use of temporal coding to pass information between network units. Using such codes allows the transmission of a large amount of data with only few spikes, simply one or zero for each neuron involved in the specific processing task. The true deal is how to encode analogical information to a spikes train. More, it’s not the only problem which we find in using spiking neurons network (SNN), we have to choose different parameters and functions. In this paper, in the middle of several spiking neurons models, we have chosen the spiking response model (SRM) to apply in phonetic classification using phonemes from TIMIT databases. Before, for the studies, we have performed experiments for the classical Xor-problem and explore the impact of encoding information on the network structure. The learning rules used in this experiment was based on error backpropagation based on time to first spike.

This paper presents a system to monitor the wear process in machines using computer vision and image processing techniques applied to wear particle analysis. Particles are classified using their visual attributes to predict wear failure modes in engines and other machinery. The aim of the current work is to develop an automated system to classify wear particles and thereby predict wear failure modes in engines and other machinery, such that it obviates the need for specialists and reliance on human visual inspection techniques. The paper describes an interactive control system CAVE (Computer Aided Vision Engineering) in terms of the stages involved in processing data to acquire morphological features of wear particles from microscopic images and their automatic classification.

In this paper, we propose a novel approach in which an intelligent agent can learn complex concepts in abstract forms. This approach provides a useful tool for non-episodic problems, where agent must search the environment to find special concepts; in addition, yielded abstract representation of the concepts can be used in further high level planning tasks. In order to perform concept learning process in this framework, agent utilizes its own actions according to limitations of sensory data and complexity of related analysis. It extracts required features from environment according to complexity of concepts and their distinctions. These features are composed of sequences of agent’s primitive actions. The proposed method is tested on a mobile robot benchmark, and learned concepts are used for a path planning problem. The simulation results demonstrate the capability of our approach in abstracting concepts.

STATCOM control can improve the transmission capacity considerably and can thus enhance the transient stability margin of the power system. In this paper, an optimal control method based on linear quadratic regulator (LQR) control design for transient dynamic performance of STATCOM. Nowadays, user authentication is one of the important topics in information security. Strong text-based password schemes could provide with certain degree of security. However, the fact that strong passwords are difficult to memorize often leads their owners to write them down on papers or even save them in a computer file. Graphical authentication has been proposed as a possible alternative solution to text-based authentication, motivated particularly by the fact that humans can remember images better than text. In recent years, many networks, computer systems and Internet-based environments try used graphical authentication technique for their user’s authentication. All of graphical passwords have two different aspects which are usability and security. Unfortunately none of these algorithms were being able to cover both of these aspects at the same time. During our research, we could find eleven Recall-Based authentication algorithms which we tried to explain their lacks and attacks. Then in the last section, in order to cover usability and security features at the same time, we try to make three different comparison tables.
