The objective of this note is to explain why liberalism fails almost everywhere. The rise of populism has no specific ideological sign, so that the populist stamp refers to the idea of authoritarian, centralizing governments, opposed to commercial globalization, enemies of the open separation of powers, and certainly intolerant of criticism. To bring out some causes is imperative if this populist rise is to be reversed.

Historical works written during The Reform and the Second Mexican Empire, as well as their discussion in the press are significant for the construction of the modern Mexican State. This text analyses the reception in the newspapers of a corpus of representative historical works published between 1856 and 1874 by liberals and conservatives.

Young Sigmund Freud faced a dispute over the conception of science, which is confronted in Newtonian materialist mechanism and Leibnizian empiricist rationalism. This way, S. Freud decided to formulate a psychological science and began to propose his own path, which received the criticism of psychology as a "pseudoscience" by 20th century philosophers of science.

There is a need to build social environments for the protection of the press in contexts of violence targeted at journalists. In those social environments three spheres correlate: political institutional, justice and civil. Mexico is one of the nations with the most attacks on journalists, which forces us to rethink the ways of offering protection to the press.

In the second half of the 16th century, the Franciscans ended up arguing that the Indians were only "minors", and their care and guidance belonged them. This idea had nothing to do with previous concepts or with reality. The Indian revealed to them as a lazy, ignorant, and vicious being who could not govern himself. The semantic burden imposed by the Franciscans would be complemented by other paternalistic postures that reduced the American Indian to an uneducated, barbaric and naive individual on which his legal status in Indian legislation was based, as so many historical prejudices that still weigh on his condition.

Within a vision of the future and in a continuous interaction between the individual, the collective and the space, we propose to address urban issues from the needs linked to lifestyles which shape the city. With this approach and the experience of confinement, we take up the results of a previous project regarding the dimension of the encounter, the practices of space and the use of ICT, which can provide interesting contributions for the conception of future spaces.
