Accompagner l’implantation de l’approche par compétences en histoire : avec quels moyens d’enseignement ? 伴随历史技能方法的实施:用什么教学手段?

Ressources pour l’enseignement | Ces dossiers sont extraits du manuel de Jean-Louis Jadoulle et Jean Georges (éds.), Construire l’Histoire, nouv. éd., Namur : Érasme, 2015. Ils ont trait à la thématique de la Première Guerre mondiale et fournissent aux élèves des matériaux pour, d’abord, relever un certain nombre de « représentations » actuelles du premier conflit mondial ; ensuite, pour découvrir, sur la base de l’examen de « documents », l’engrenage (inévitable ?) qui a conduit à l’éclatement de la guerre, la vie quotidienne des soldats dans les tranchées, et le « débat » qui divise les historiens à propos des raisons qui ont poussé les combattants à « tenir », quatre années durant ; enfin, pour faire « le point sur » la nouveauté de la Grande Guerre dans l’histoire de la manière de faire la guerre depuis le xviiie siècle. Ces différents types de dossiers constituent les composants principaux de ce moyen d’enseignement très largement diffusé en Belgique francophone et élaboré sur la base d’un nouveau concept de manuel scolaire baptisé RESBO pour « RESources for learning textBOok » (www.resbo.be). History lessons in secondary schools aim at fostering competences in historical thinking. A part of this is the competence to differentiate between historical sources and depictions. In our article we outline how the classroom use of the web app Travis Go can contribute to fostering historical competences. Drawing on literature from teaching methodology, we discuss a scheme for an audiovisual media analysis on a macro and micro level. An example analysis of an excerpt from a TV documentary shows how the functions of Travis Go can be used to meet history teaching and media education requirements.
