This current investigation examines the effects of technology on the success of traditional and non-traditional, post-secondary students in nursing programs in an Appalachian vocational setting. A survey was developed for use in Columbiana County, Ohio, a designated Appalachian area at a county vocational school with several programs in the nursing field. The survey was used to measure technology self-efficacy, perceptions about the impact of technology on the educational experience, and preparation for future employment. The survey was completed by 205 participants, both traditional and non-traditional in age for comparison. Findings from this study indicate that non-traditional students face more barriers to learning with the use of technology than the traditional set of students. With an ever-changing economy and job market, non-traditional students will continue to be a group that faces different barriers and challenges than others in different age brackets.

The purpose of this study was to investigate teachers' use of the Center for Research on Education, Diversity, and Excellence (CREDE) standards to meet the unique cultural needs of Hispanic students. In addition, the influence of these factors on teachers' use of the CREDE standards were investigated, including teachers' (a) generation, (b) years of teaching experience, (c) CTE program area and (d) school district. The theoretical framework was Vygotsky's (1978) sociocultural theory, upon which the CREDE standards were developed. Fifty-five CTE teachers from Alabama, Tennessee, and South Carolina completed an online survey to assess use of CREDE standards. Relationships between study variables were assessed using ANOVAs. Results indicated that on average, participants used all five CREDE standards very often. Results also indicated use of the CREDE standards differed by program area taught, but not by school district, generation or years of CTE teaching experience.

The Employability Skills Assessment (ESA) was translated into Korean (KESA) and the construct validity and reliabilities of the KESA were examined to provide Koreans with a scientific research-based work ethic measure. A total of 896 Korean Baby Boomers (1955-1963), Generation X (1964-1981) and Millennials (1982-1999) provided data. Work ethic was compared by gender and generations. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses suggested four dimensions of the KESA and were labeled as (initiative), (interpersonal skills), (dependability) and (Thoughtfulness). Reliability coefficients of each factor of the KESA ranged from .68 to .80. The results indicated that there were no statistically significant differences in the four dimensions of the KESA based on gender and no interaction effects existed between gender and generations. However, there were statistically significant differences for generations in (initiative) and (dependability).
