The paper presents compact circular monopole planar antenna optimization using the concept of golden ratio found in nature for UWB applications. The initial circular monopole antenna of size 52 × 66 × 1.6 mm3 is presented and then optimized it to another circular monopole antenna of size 30 × 37 × 1.6 mm3. The antenna is approximately half the size of initial antenna with comparable performance to the initial antenna. The final prototype achieves the impedance bandwidth in UWB range (2.4GHz–14.46GHz except at 7.2–8.3GHz) and some portion of Ku band (16.1–19.873GHz) with positive gain in the specified range. The can be used for the UWB and Ku band communications in the real world.

Image segmentation has been a subject of interest for researchers and engineers for quite a while. Its wide applicability in different fields makes it even more popular. It is a process of dividing an image into different segments which together form the complete image. Segmentation of image results in the formation of set of contours on the basis of different properties and characteristics of the pixels forming the image like texture, intensity and colors. Different regions are separated from each other depending on these parameters. There are various methods proposed for the process of image segmentation. In this paper we discuss the various algorithms proposed for the process and the algorithms further proposed in order to apply in the fields like medical imaging, edge detection, object tracking X-radiology and agriculture.

A crucially significant process for the automatic fruit grading system is image segmentation. The area of interest is extracted by separating the image into several areas. Intensity of the object color surface varies with the illumination. The external fruit properties namely shape, size, texture and color, give base to various fruit quality detection technique. As it is very difficult to sort out the good quality fruits, so the aim of machine based system is to replace manual techniques. With a large demand of fruits the ineffective manual monitoring poses a problem. Various methods such as Otsu, k-means, fuzzy c-means and watershed segmentation are used for image segmentation. Speeded up robust technique estimate the local features. Implementation of all segmentation methods on fruit images is applied and a comparative research outcome is projected to find the defected portion of fruits.

Noise in an image arises due to imperfections of the imaging instruments, human instability errors while acquisition of images, various surrounding disturbing factors etc. Noise can also arise while transmission, compression or storage of image. Noise leads to degradation of an image. An image may even lose its data of interest. Image de-noising is the very first method of analyzing and processing an image. There are various kind of noise like noises appear grainy dots some periodic lines some may even overshadow the original image etc. Various de-noising algorithms and techniques are derived to de-noise an image of respective type of noises. In this paper, we will conclude some new de-noising methods and algorithms that have been created and discuss about their effectiveness, their limitations and their future scope.

In software projects, first of the challenges in projects is to manage successful delivery of the software project with minimal cost and high quality of software by constantly reducing & mitigating delivery risk. Cost control, Risk reduction & mitigation and success of a project becomes key focus for project manager. For reduction of cost & risk we need to first have the bird's eye of view which factors influence the risk & and impact success of the project, having this birds eye of view gives a ray of hope if development methodology being adopted for software development can help to reduce cost, risk and consequently increase success rate. Let's consider a hypotheses: Software development methodology used for developing software impacts success rate of project, risk and reduce cost. This study analyses this laid down hypothesis and test this relationship for various projects. Let's group methodologies into two groups, for developing the software namely Classical Software development life cycle methodology group (Classical SDLC Methodologies) & Agile methodologies, each of these methodologies groups have multiple models under each of these. This study researched both of these groups to analyze impact on fulfilling our laid down objectives of reduction in cost & risk and increased success rate of the project by picking one methodology from each group, Classical SDLC is older methodologies group comprising of Waterfall, spiral, Incremental etc. whereas Agile is a newer methodology group, particularly, it is researched that if Agile methodologies is better fit than Classical SDLC methodology — Waterfall model for meeting our core objectives. We obtained results for various completed projects and evidence is analyzed for deriving the final conclusion.

This paper proposes a novel approach towards object detection and its subsequent positional analysis for a visually impaired subject, using Fixed DO Solfège, basically sounds that we have heard multiple times, and we are aware of them and also their sequence is thus naturally perceived by us viz. DO-RE-MI-FA-SO-LA-TI This approach utilizes a concept of virtual zones superimposed on the viewport of a small wearable CMOS camera module mounted on the eyeglasses of the subject, communicating to a computing device with attached earplugs for sonic feedbacks in the Fixed DO Solfège notation. By implantation of a HAAR cascade based classifier trained system, several need to know objects are trained and fed into the recognition pool, which are thus detected in the viewport overlaid by the virtual harmonic zones further linked to the Fixed DO Solfège notations, and are mapped throughout the viewport in an incremental/sequential manner. As the subject moves his hand through the viewport, and his hands overlap the recognized objects, an audible beep basis on the sound of the zone is played on the earplugs. This not only enables the subject to know that in which direction a particular object is situated, but also, because of the sound, he can also know as to how many objects lie before/after the current object, this gives a sense of relative recognition and positional cognition of the objects.

Currently the issues of application of the public-private partnership mechanism in the economy are becoming more and more urgent. The public-private partnership (PPP) is becoming a fundamental instrument for developing the regional and municipal infrastructure, attracting investments, improving the quality of services provided to the population. Despite the fact of the implemented public-private partnerships projects in our country, there is a lack of theoretical basis, comprehensive research and necessary scientific and methodological support for studying this promising mechanism. However, it can be stated that there is progressive PPP development in the key areas: legal regulation, institutional environment and immediate preparation and implementation of projects. The transition to the public-private partnership model allows to improve the economic situation of industrial enterprises by attracting additional sources of income, optimizing costs and creating conditions for scientific and technological development in industry. The use of the PPP mechanism in industry has a great potential, especially in the current economic instability and implementation of the import substitution strategy, which will allow to create new jobs, to attract investment into the innovative projects, to increase the efficiency of capital investments in industry. The article considers the peculiarities of public-private partnership projects implementation, the possibility of public-private partnership mechanism application in the industrial sector for the substantiation of the industrial enterprise development strategy on the basis of solving the mathematical problem of the new equipment output volumes optimization.

Natural Language Processing is a technique which allows communication between the human and the machine. In this technique the major problem has been Word Sense Disambiguation (WSD). WSD is the process of uniquely identifying the correct usage of the given word, of the multiple meanings that the word may have. A lot of work is going on in this field, especially in English and European Languages. In recent years, significant work has been done in Indian Regional Languages also. Punjabi is an Indian Regional Language and Gurmukhi is its script. The WSD applies three approaches — knowledge based, corpus based and hybrid approach. The corpus based approach can be further divided into — supervised and unsupervised approach. Off the many algorithms implemented under supervised approach, Naive Bayes Approach has shown higher accuracy in WSD. For this paper we have used the Punjabi Corpora (obtained from Evaluations and Language Resources Distribution Agency, Paris, France) which has been sense-tagged with 100 words.
