Information seeking behavior is one of the interesting topics to be studied so far. Everyone has different information seeking behavior, it is influenced by several factors, such as age, profession, gender, education, beliefs, living environment and so on. This article will discuss the results of research on the information seeking behavior of the authors of a book entitled The Patriot Pierre Tendean. The authors of the book consist of 7 (seven) people and they have different professional backgrounds, some are journalists, teachers, employees, doctors, entrepreneurs, housewives, and travelers. The main purpose of this study was to determine the information seeking behavior of the authors of the book. Besides that, it is also to find out the purpose of writing the book, as well as explore various supporting factors and inhibiting factors faced by the authors in finding the information they need. This study used a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, and the required data were obtained through in-depth interviews with informants. The informants are six of the seven authors of the book The Patriot Pierre Tendean. The results showed that the information seeking behavior of the six authors had different stages, some were in accordance with Ellis' information seeking behavior model, and some used the Khulthau information search model. Meanwhile, the purpose of writing the book Sang Patriot Pierre Tendean is to provide a book that provides complete and accurate information about Pierre Tendean as one of the revolutionary heroes who died in the events of the September 30th Movement/PKI (G30S/PKI) in 1965. The inhibiting factor faced by these writers was related to licensing to obtain the information they needed, while the supporting factor was their high motivation and enthusiasm in seeking information to meet their needs in completing the writing of the book Sang Patriot Pierre Tendean

The decline in reading culture in school students is an issue that comes to the fore today. The government and schools have made various efforts to develop a reading culture. Many roles should be involved so that the student is in an environment that always encourages him to read hard. Library managers are an essential part of having a role in fostering a culture of reading. This study aims to determine the role and constraints of library managers in motivating the reading interest of deaf students in the library of SLB-B Pangudi Luhur a Jakarta. This study aims to determine library managers' roles and constraints in motivating the reading interest of deaf students. This research is descriptive with a qualitative approach and the case study method. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews and literature reviews. Using B. F. Skinner's Operant Conditioning Learning Theory, research shows that library managers play their role in motivating deaf students' reading interest through mandatory library programs. The activities carried out by library managers in the program include storytelling, using picture books, composing for students to imagine, and collaborating with teachers. Library managers carry out these activities to encourage deaf students to read, especially when there are obstacles in the process of absorbing their ear language and difficulties in generating emotions such as anxiety, fear, anger, depression, and low communication resulting in a lack of self-confidence. Obstacles experienced by library managers in motivating students include the lack of adequate human resources and the lack of availability of new books. The manager of the SLB-B Pangudi Luhur Jakarta Library applies the oral/aural verbal communication method in communicating to support and make it easier to motivate the reading interest of deaf students.

Communication is the thing that can be separated from library activities. All library services rely on communication to interact with their users, especially reference services. Communication in reference services is personal, so the application of interpersonal communication skills must be owned by the reference librarian. Interpersonal communication is regulated and exemplified in Islam, with the Qur'an and Hadith. In the library environment, the principles of Islamic communication can certainly be applied by the librarian. This paper discusses applying Islamic communication principles to referral services at the Trade Training Center Library, Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia. The qualitative method with a case study approach is carried out in the research, where the data was collected by interviewing librarians and users in the library. This study shows that the librarian of the reference service to the users at the Library of the Trade Training Center of the Republic of Indonesia applies the principles of Islamic communication in interacting with users, which include: qaulan sadidan (speaking honestly), qaulan baligha (speaking clearly), qaulan ma'rufa (talking with wise), qaulan karma (speaking with noble words), qaulan layyina (speaking gently), and qaulan maysura (speaking politely). In addition, librarians are also able to uphold the principles of ukhuwah islamiyah (creating good relations with users), tabbayun (always cross-checking on developing information), and also fastabiqul khairat (inviting staff and users to compete for goodness).

Records management is something that is very important and cannot be separated in the management of an organization or agency. For a school, archives are very important as proof of the results of the school's accreditation assessment of the eight components of the national education standard. Therefore, every school must be able to have good archive management to support accreditation activities. This study aims to explain the management of active mail archives at Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri (SMAN) 78 West Jakarta which already has A Accreditation. there are some things that are still not available. There are several things that are not yet available in the management of active mail archives at SMAN 78, namely: (1) the means of storing letters that are owned are still incomplete; (2) do not have books or proof of borrowing in the use of active mail dynamic archives; (3) does not yet have an Archive Retention Schedule (JRA) and a complete destruction report. These three things happen because the management of active mail archives is still done manually and the limited ability and knowledge of Human Resources (HR) in the archives field, as well as efforts to overcome obstacles have not been carried out optimally. Based on this, the researchers recommend to SMAN 78 that: (1) the management of active mail archives is carried out electronically; (2) Adding types and units of letter storage facilities and infrastructure; (3) Adding human resources devoted to managing letters or improving the capabilities of existing human resources through training in the field of archives, especially regarding archive disposition.

This study aims to determine the level of information-seeking behavior of students in SMA Class XII Pesantren Terpadu Darul Qur'an Mulia in determining the study program in higher education. This type of research is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The population of this study amounted to 204 students of Class XII Pesantren Terpadu Darul Qur'an Mulia, and the sample was taken by purposive sampling technique using the Slovin formula, so that a sample of 67 students was obtained. This research uses Kuhlthau's 1993 Information Search Process (ISP) model. Kuhlthau's theory has six stages including initiation, selection, exploration, formulation, collection, and presentation. The results showed that the information seeking behavior of students in determining the study program in higher education was classified as good. This can be seen from each stage of the Kuhlthau model, most students experience feelings, thoughts and actions that are in accordance with the Kuhlthau model, namely: Initiation gets a score of 3.27 (Very Good), Selection gets a score of 3.12 (Good), Exploration got a score of 2.92 (Good), Formulation got a score of 3.12 (Good), Collection got a score of 3.06 (Good) and Presentation got a score of 3.22 (Good). Santri experience all the stages that exist in the Kuhlthau model, especially at the Initiation stage, both in feelings, thoughts, and actions taken. Meanwhile, at the exploration stage, students tend not to feel the feeling to stop searching and the inconsistency of information as according to Kuhlthau's model. Based on the results of the study, the information seeking behavior of students in determining the study program in higher education as a whole is at a good level by obtaining a score of 3.11 (Good).

Penyusutan arsip merupakan kegiatan pengendalian arsip yang efektif dalam pengelolaan arsip. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan proses penyusutan dan upaya yang dilakukan dalam mewujudkan efektivitas penyusutan arsip di Pusat Arsip I Kemendag RI. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode studi kasus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses penyusutan terdiri pemusnahan arsip yang tidak bernilai dengan menggunakan jasa pihak ketiga dan penyerahan arsip yang memiliki nilai berkelanjutan ke Arsip Nasional Republik Indonesia (ANRI). Unit Kearsipan I telah berupaya untuk mencapai efektivitas penyusutan arsip melalui penetapan tujuan, integrasi, dan adaptasi. Penetapan tujuan dilakukan melalui penetapan jadwal penyusutan arsip; integrasi dilakukan dengan melaksanakan pembagian kerja untuk mendukung pelaksanaan penyusutan arsip yang maksimal, dan adaptasi dilakukan dengan menyesuaikan dengan perubahan terkait sarana dan prasarana. Library promotion is important, especially during a pandemic like this. This study aims to determine the use of Instagram as a means of promotional activities carried out by the Depok City Public Library manager during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques are collected through interviews, observations, and literature studies (documentation). The results showed that the strategy carried out by the Depok City Public Library through Instagram social media was to embrace the reading garden community around Depok City, upload content in the form of events and activities carried out by the Depok City Public Library, as well as cooperation with schools in Depok City. To improve the quality of promotion through Instagram, it is necessary to support the leadership on various kinds of existing problems, including the first, namely the policy on the certainty of the use of language (formal / non-formal). The second is the policy toward the procurement of experts in the field of graphic design. This study aims to determine the use of Instagram as a means of promotional activities carried out by the Depok City Public Library manager during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques are collected through interviews, observations, and literature studies (documentation). The results showed that the strategy carried out by the Depok City Public Library through Instagram social media was to embrace the reading garden community around Depok City, upload content in the form of events and activities carried out by the Depok City Public Library, as well as cooperation with schools in Depok City. To improve the quality of promotion through Instagram, it is necessary to support the leadership on various kinds of existing problems, including the first, namely the policy on the certainty of the use of language (formal / non-formal). The second is the policy toward the procurement of experts in the field of graphic design. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pelayanan perpustakaan dan bagaimana persepsi pemustaka mengenai citra profesi pustakawan di Perpustakaan Nasional RI, serta seberapa besar pengaruh pelayanan perpustakaan terhadap persepsi pemustaka mengenai citra profesi pustakawan. Menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian eksplanatif dan mengambil jumlah peserta responden sebanyak 99 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik insidental, yaitu pengambilan sampel secara kebetulan. Data penelitian dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner disebarkan kepada pemustaka yang berkunjung langsung ke Pepustakaan Nasional RI. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linier sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelayanan di Perpustakaan Nasional RI masuk dalam kategori sangat baik dengan skor 3,67. Persepsi pemustaka mengenai citra profesi pustakawan di Perpustakaan Nasional RI juga dinilai sangat baik dengan skor 3,59. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, pelayanan perpustakaan memiliki pengaruh terhadap persepsi pemustaka mengenai citra profesi pustakawan, dengan nilai R Square sebesar 0,445 atau 44,5%, sedangkan 55,5% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak diteliti dalam penelitian. Dengan demikian, hipotesis yang diterima adalah H1 = pelayanan perpustakaan berpengaruh terhadap persepsi pemustaka mengenai citra profesi pustakawan di Perpustakaan Nasional RI.
