Design for optimal axial ratio of spiral antenna for NLJD system NLJD系统螺旋天线最佳轴比设计

This paper describes a design for the optimal axial ratio of the spiral antenna applied for NLJD system. To improve the axial ratio, the archimedean slit conductor on ground plane is newly designed by comparison with the conventional antenna [2]. The improved axial ratio of 3 dB below is realized by the optimized cutting slit of DFG and PGE. The measured E-field radiation patterns and the main beam directivity toward +z axis direction are agreed well with the simulated results.

Advanced code sequences design for pedestrian detection in millimeter-wave pulse-compression radar system 毫米波脉冲压缩雷达系统中行人检测的先进码序列设计

The paper proposes code sequences with an optimized criterion for precisely detecting pedestrians in the presence of vehicles in millimeter-wave pulse-compression radar system. The criterion named FR (Floor-Ratio) focuses on the maximum of sidelobes. The code sequences based on FR attain higher maximum sidelobe suppression compared to the ones based on conventional criterion. Computer simulation and experimental measurement have been done for verification. Consequently, our work proves the effectiveness of the proposed code sequences with the criterion for next generation millimeter-wave radar systems.

Design of MIMO antenna with decoupling network for LTE mobile application LTE移动应用中带解耦网络的MIMO天线设计

A MIMO antenna with decoupling network for LTE mobile application is proposed. To improve the isolation between the two radiating elements of MIMO antenna, decoupling network is added. The decoupling network consists of two sections of transmission line, a shunt reactive component and quarter-wavelength jointed shorting structure. The isolation is improved by approximately 25 dB at the center frequency. The fabricated MIMO antenna satisfies a 6 dB return loss requirement and an envelope correlation coefficient below 0.4 over the LTE band 13 from 746 MHz to 787 MHz.

A wideband microstrip to coplanar stripline (CPS) balun has been developed for use in plasma diagnostic radiometric imaging array systems. This balun design includes an impedance transformer and several via holes to realize impedance and field matching. Under TRL measurement, the 2 dB and 3 dB back-to-back insertion loss bandwidth can cover from 2 to 18.45 GHz (1:9.225) and from 2 to 26.5 GHz (1:13.25), respectively.

Differential microstrip bandpass filter with dual-band responses using parallel-coupled line structure 采用平行耦合线结构的双带响应差分微带带通滤波器

In this paper, a novel differential bandpass filter (BPF) with dual-band filtering response is proposed. The equivalent circuits of proposed dual-band filter are illustrated and analyzed in both differential-mode and common-mode. By controlling the electrical length of an open stub in the differential-mode, two passbands operating at the desired frequency ratio can be designed. Also, the spurious response within the passbands can be suppressed by the over-coupling technique. In the common-mode operation, the short-ended meander line enhances the common-mode suppression. From the measurement results, the dual-band BPF operates at 854 MHz and 2.40 GHz, with 3-dB fractional bandwidth 7.17% and 3.71% respectively. A transmission zero is recorded at 1.79 GHz to suppress the spurious passband. The measured common-mode suppression is better than 18.5 dB in two passbands is achieved.

This manuscript describes our W-band LNA design using commercial 90nm CMOS process. For effectively extending the amplifier's bandwidth without compromising its wideband matching or noise figure, a combination of common-source and cascode gain stages are employed for the five-stage circuit design. This 1200×900μm2 low-noise amplifier has more than 10dB gain and around 12dB noise figure, with 41mW power consumption. Though primarily developed for our receiver array, this W-band LNA does find applications in areas such as image sensing, surveillance, radar, and millimeter-wave instrumentations. With consistent simulated and measured results, this circuit can be modified for covering even wider bandwidth whenever needed.

Wideband and UWB filters with complementary couplings 带互补耦合的宽带和超宽带滤波器

New type of direct-coupled resonator filter with complementary couplings is analyzed and described. Complementary couplings are capacitive (electric) and inductive (magnetic) couplings used together in one filter. Capacitive and inductive effects complement each other in terms of frequency dependence. That is why complementary couplings filter behaves exactly like classical filter with ideal frequency independent couplings. The new type of filter gives strictly Chebyshev frequency response in wideband and ultra-wideband applications what is unique in other filter realizations. This phenomenon is explained by modeling direct-coupled resonator filters with real admittance inverters. A novel microstrip wideband filter with complementary couplings is proposed. The 5th order, 2.0 GHz center frequency and 600 MHz bandwidth example is presented.

Nonuniform memory polynomial behavioral model for wireless transmitters and power amplifiers 无线发射机和功率放大器的非均匀记忆多项式行为模型

This paper presents a low complexity memory polynomial model suitable for behavioral modeling of wireless transmitters and power amplifiers exhibiting memory effects. This model takes advantage of the fading property of memory effects and separately adjusts the nonlinearity order in each of the memory polynomial branches. An efficient algorithm is reported to successively identify the nonlinearity order required in each of the model branches. Experimental validation carried on a 3G Doherty power amplifier prototype driven by two multi-carrier WCDMA signals shows that the proposed model reduces the required number of coefficients by at least 30% while maintaining the modeling accuracy. This complexity reduction is highly desired in emerging applications where the operating conditions change rapidly and thus requires fast adaptation.

A 4×4 L-probe patch antenna array using multilayer low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) technology is presented for V-band applications. The proposed antenna array is designed with high gain and stable peak gain in the wideband impedance bandwidth. A novel soft-surface structure is introduced as the gain enhanced structure to improve the gain performance. The proposed soft-surface structure comprised of metal strips and via fences is used to reduce the losses caused by severe surface waves and mutual coupling between adjacent elements to improve the radiation performance. The fabricated antenna array excluding the measurement transition has dimension of 14.4×14.4×1mm3. Good agreement is achieved between simulated and measured results. The proposed antenna array shows a wide simulated impedance of 29% from 53GHz to 71GHz for |S11| <; -10dB, and the measured gain up to 17.5dBi at 60GHz, respectively.

In this paper, a generalized two-way dual-band Wilkinson power divider (WPD) with four open-circuited stubs is discussed. A coupled line section is introduced to reduce circuit size based on the assumption of linear phase characteristics. A normal size WPD and its miniaturized WPD were fabricated. Experimental results were in good agreement with predicted ones.
