Taekwondo can develop social responses, beliefs, values, attitudes, and cognitive experiences due to its characteristics and the diversity of frequency, intensity, time, and type of application. This can facilitate the achievement of results related to physical health and cognition in individuals in the formation phases. Thus, this study aimed to analyze the effects of taekwondo practice on physical and cognitive variables in children and adolescents. This systematic review followed the PRISMA recommendations and was registered in PROSPERO (CRD42021293609). The search was performed in the MEDLINE (via PubMed), Scopus, SPORTDiscus, and Web of Science databases. The search terms were related to the theme taekwondo, school, and students with the keywords grouped in a single Boolean phrase: “taekwondo AND school” OR “taekwondo AND students”. Studies that analyzed the effects of taekwondo on health-related variables in children and adolescents of both sexes were included. The risk of bias in experimental and quasi-experimental studies was analyzed using the Cochrane Collaboration tool and the Risk Of Bias In Non-randomized Studies - of Interventions (ROBINS-I) tool, respectively. After using the selection criteria, 8 studies were included. Study interventions consisted of a minimum of 8 weeks and a maximum of 72 weeks. There was a total of 402 participants aged between 6 and 16 years, of which 75% were male. The protocols demonstrated improvement in cognitive performance, strength, flexibility, and balance after taekwondo intervention. We concluded that the practice of taekwondo was able to bring positive responses to physical and cognitive performance in children and adolescents.

The aim of this study was to analyze the effects of a nutritional education program combined with the FIFA 11+ program on physical fitness attributes, physical activity levels, food and nutritional habits and nutritional knowledge in young basketball players. Twenty-three under 14 elite basketball players (13 males and 10 females) belonging to a professional basketball academy participated in the study. Physical fitness attributes (countermovement jump [CMJ], drop jump[DJ], linear sprint, Lane Agility Drill, 505 change-of-direction, and repeated-change-of-direction [RCOD]), physical activity levels (Physical Activity Questionnaire for Adolescents, PAQ-A), eating and nutritional habits (Turconi questionnaire), and nutritional knowledge (modified version of the Turconi questionnaire) were assessed before and after the five months intervention period. Participants were involved in five nutrition education sessions and in a weekly session of the FIFA 11+ program. Pre-to-post differences revealed improvements in physical fitness attributes (i.e., CMJ, Lane Drill Test and RCOD time test [p < 0.05; effect size (ES) = 0.52 to -1.68]) and physical activity behaviors (PAQtotal and PAQ Lunch [p < 0.001; ES = 0.68-0.89]), as well as a maintenance of eating and nutritional habits and nutrition knowledge. In practical terms, the usual on-court and the implementation of nutrition education interventions combined with the FIFA 11+ improve physical fitness attributes and physical activity behaviors while favor the maintenance of eating and nutritional habits and nutrition knowledge in U14 elite basketball players

The aim was to determine which performance indicators show significant differences in connection with age category and team’s level in women's international volleyball. The competitions analyzed were Senior Volleyball Nations League (n= 130 games) and U20 (n= 64 games) and U18 (n= 63 games) World Championships held in 2019. The results obtained in this study showed that inthe U18 category there were more errorsper set(U18 8.33vs. Senior 5.25 vs. U20 6.00errorspoints, p<.001) and greater serve effectiveness (U18 9.00% vs. Senior 6.00%vs. U20 7.00%, p<.001). In U20 there was a huge leap in quality with maximum values in block performance (U20 25.00%vs. Senior 15.00% vs. U18 15.00%, p<.001) and an increase in attack variables (U20 39.00%vs U18 33.00%, p<.001) accompanied by a decrease in errorspoints per set(U20 6.00vs U18 8.33errors points, p<.001) and serve effectiveness (U20 7.00%vs U18 9.00%, p<.001). In the Seniors category, there was a decrease in block effectiveness (Senior 15.00%vs U20 25.00%, p<.001) and an increase in attackspoints per set (Senior 13.30vs U20 12.00 vs U18 9.70points, p<.001). In the comparison between levels, more differences were detected when teams were further apart in the ranking, and attack and block effectiveness were the most relevant indicatorsin thethree-agecategory. Based on the findings of this study, we can determine performance indicators for each age category and level, allowing coaches and technical staff to establish new training strategies for their team’s improvement and success.

This study aimed to systematically review the current scientific literature on game-related statistics (GRS) that better discriminate between basketball winning and losing teams, and to identify the magnitude of the difference of the most frequently cited GRS between winning and losing teams via meta-analysis. A systematic search of the databases Web of Science, Scopus, SPORTDiscus, PubMed, Science Direct, Latindex, Scholar Google, and Scielo was performed. Keywords addressed discriminant analysis, game-related statistics, discriminant factors, determinant factors, game outcome, match analysis, winning and losing,and basketball. Data from 20 out of 533articles were eligible to be extracted. Structural Coefficients (SC)values were considered relevant for analysis when ≥0.32. Results indicated that defensive rebounds and assists were classified as good (SC ≥ 0.46) or very good (SC ≥ 0.56) discriminant factors. Both were the most frequently GRS cited as discriminant factors, regardless of location, phase of the competition, or opponent’s level. Based on these indicators, eight studies were included for meta-analysis.Meta-analyses showed that winning teams have at least six more defensive rebounds (95% CI = 4.22 -7.99; p < 0.0001) and around four more assists than losing teams (95% CI = 3.14 -4.50; p < 0.0001). Coaches should emphasize defensive rebounding and assisting drills intheir practice planning to improve the likelihood of winning games.
本研究旨在系统回顾当前关于比赛相关统计(game-related statistics, GRS)的科学文献,以更好地区分篮球输赢球队,并通过荟萃分析确定输赢球队之间最常被引用的GRS差异的大小。系统检索了Web of Science、Scopus、SPORTDiscus、PubMed、Science Direct、Latindex、Scholar Google和Scielo数据库。

The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between the variables of activity preferences in physical education lessons and their power of prediction on the development of basic competences. Based on the contextual isomorphism of teaching and learning situations in physical education, a scale of practice preferences was designed and validated and grouped into families, according to their construct and consequential validity. To do so, we designed and validated a scale of activity preferences in physical education lessons. Two studies were carried out with students between the ages of 12 and 18. The first study was on a sample of 219 participants, where an activity preferences scale was designed and validated. The second study was carried out on a sample of 476 students, and measured activity preferences and the perception of basic competences. The results showed that the activity preferences scale was valid and reliable. When class activities coincided with the students’ preferences it positively predicted basic competences

The game analysis is known as a useful tool for understanding the level of technical-tactical performance of volleyball. As one of the main characteristics of volleyball is defined as the intense relationship between its skills and concluded performance, the present study aimed to perform a comprehensive analysis of the serve reception zone, set zone and attack quality of the top-level volleyball players. The analysis process included reviewing the videos of the games by an experienced scout man who was an expert analyst and specialist inthe knowledge of volleyball skills. Initially, during each game video checking, data were collected, and irrelevant/invalid outputs were deleted. Data were exported to the Data Volley special volleyball analysis software. Bivariate associations were assessed for pairs of variables with Pearson’s chi-squared tests. Statistical significance was set at p<0.05. Moreover, the effect size was calculated in terms of Crammer’s V, with values of<0.1,0.1-0.3 and >0.5 for small, medium, and large effects respectively. The results showed that there were significant relationships between reception zone with setting zone, setting zone with attack quality as well as reception zone with attack quality. Coaches may consider the relationship between critical skills of volleyball to promote their team performance.

Abstract: This study aimed to report the goal patterns in cerebral palsy (CP) footballaccording to the time in which goals were scored, the importance of the first goal of the match and the sport class of players who scored the goals,to improve the knowledge of performance in this para-sport. The goals scoredby the seven teamsof the Spanish National League, during the 21 matches of the 2021/2022 season,were analyzed. Thedata was collected from the official match reports of the Spanish Federation of CP sports. Theresults showed a total of 142 goals and an average of 6.8 goals per match. A Pearson’s correlation analysis showed moderate correlations between the scored goals by teams, the received goals and the final position in the team ranking(r = 0.71 to 0.81; p = 0.02 to 0.07). The distribution of the goals scored was not biased by halves (53.5% vs 46.5%; χ2 = 0.5; p = 0.50) nor by 15-min periods (31.0% vs 22.5% vs 26.8% vs 19.7%; χ2= 2.9; p= 0.40). In the 72.7% of the matches, the team which scored the first goal finally won the match (χ2 = 26.4; p < 0.01). FT3 players scored more goals by player (χ2 = 9.7; p = 0.05). The results from this study improve the knowledge of the goal patterns in CP football and they could be interesting for coaches and CP football professionals to plan their game strategiesconsidering the importance of scoring the first goal of the match and the higher scoring rate of FT3 players.

The results from this study improve the knowledge of the goal patterns in CP football and they could be interesting for coaches and CP football professionals to plan their game strategiesconsidering the importance of scoring the first goal of the match and the higher scoring rate of FT3 players.","PeriodicalId":36150,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Human Movement","volume":"10 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75466912","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The foot corresponds to the body segment that allows the exchange of forces between the support surface and the athlete's body; itsmorphology and function influence the quality of movement and body alignment. Moreover, the foot morphology can be modified according to the different adaptations that different sports cause, such as running, sport combat and team sports. This work aimed to define the knowledge that a sample of athletes has about their Medial Longitudinal Foot Arch (MLA). A sample of 119 athletes, separated into three groups (runners, combat athletes, and team players), were given a self-perception questionnaire of their MLA. Their responses were contrasted with the Arch Index (AI), which is a reliable objective measurement of the MLA.Just 18.5% of thesample were able to identify their MLA, as 67.2% stated they did not know, and 14.3% erred in their self-diagnosis. Combat athletes had the highest percentage who correctly identified their MLA(25%). Association was found between the knowledge demonstrated by athletes and the sport they practiced (X2= 9.926, df = 4, p = 0.04). The ignorance about MLAby the athletes studied is presented as a problem of which consequences are unknown; this opens future research focused on the study of injuries caused by misalignment of the foot and the need to prescribe sports shoes as orthoses.

Shot accuracy is very important for success in wheelchair basketball (WB) and basketball games. The kinematics of the ball affects the shot accuracy. The main purposes of this study are to comparethe kinematics of the ball according to the outcomes of WB and basketball players’ shots and comparethe shooting accuracy of WB and basketball players. Male senior athletes (17 basketball, 6 WB) voluntarily participated in the research. Participants made static shots from 6 spots (n=1515) and the analyses were made. The shots were separated into 4 groups. The first group contained the “Clean Shot”s (CS) which the ball goes into the hoop with no or 1 hit to the rim. The second contained all the “Success” shots (S) but CS. The third contained “Missed” shots, the ball hit to the rim. Fourth contained the rest of the missed shots (Air Ball). Reliable and valid 94fifty Smart Sensor Basketball was used in this research. For both WB and basketball players, CS angles were significantly higher than other shots and no significant difference was found between S angles and unsuccessful shots. CS angles of WB players were significantly higher than basketball players. This research showed that the entry angle affects CS for both sports. It is thought that it may raise CS and shooting percentage if coaches train their players by taking entry angles into consideration. Another finding of this study was CS angles of WB players are higher than basketball players. The reason for this may be the more active, hence more improved, upper extremity motor skills of the WB players.
