The research presents the calculation by numerical methods of the energy density for a typical vertical wind profile, which is obtained from data acquired by the Regional Center for Wind Technology (CERTE) in the region of Juchitán de Zaragoza, Oaxaca, Mexico. The vertical wind profile considered presents inhomogeneities in energy density and speed, unlike the controlled conditions in a laboratory with a wind tunnel. The energy density allows us to calculate correction factors on the measured parameters of a wind turbine when it is tested under free wind laboratory conditions. The correction factor for the power coefficient in a small wind turbine with a capacity to generate 30 kW of power, developed by CIATEQ AC Centro de Tecnología Avanzada, hypothetically measured under free wind conditions, is also shown. These correction factors can also be useful in estimating the power generated when laboratory conditions are not available.

The maritime areas of greatest risk in the Gulf of Tehuantepec, are derived from the strong winds and waves presented during the northern events that occurred during the cold front seasons, these meteorological phenomena affect activities related to navigation and represent a danger to the civil population due to the strong intensities of the wind and the height of the waves. The objective of the present investigation was to identify the maritime zones of greatest risk to navigation on the Gulf of Tehuantepec, derived from the analysis of the events of the north during the period 2015-2019, with the purpose of warning and making the maritime community aware. regional and national, the areas where the effects of the northern events are more intense. This gave as a result that a radius of the first 80 Nautical Miles (NM) of the Port of Salina Cruz, Oaxaca has intense wind and wave conditions during the month of January and very intense conditions appearing in a radius of 120 NM around said zone. Of the 56 northern events associated with cold fronts, 40 were classified as strong and 16 were classified as very strong, being of great relevance to avoid navigation accidents.

A graphical interface programmed with MATLAB App Designer was developed for the analysis of the SCR thyristor using an alternating current source with a single-phase sinusoidal signal. As a first step, the mathematical analysis was made to design the graph of the firing angle in a circuit made up of an SCR. Following this, programming was carried out to calculate the intersection points of the zero crossing for the simulation in a more interactive way, where the user makes changes in the parameters in order to alter the oscillations and obtain the graphic behavior of the load and the thyristor visually. This program allows students to use it intuitively along with the view of the calculations, graphs, and to control the trigger signal on the interface without making use of virtual simulators and measurement equipment available on the market at a high cost. This facilitates the teaching-learning abilities in the subjects of computer fundamentals, applied programming and power electronics. This graphical interface allows the development of theoretical-practical activities in person and at a distance, to the design of electronic circuits.

The purpose of this research paper is to determinate the level of competence on the concept of basis of a vector space on college level students who finished the Linear Algebra course, providing complementary information to the various studies from a different perspective through the SOLO taxonomy (Structure of the Observed Learning Outcome). An instrument was designed to address the concept of basis from different perspectives and difficulty degrees; it was applied through individual video-recorded interviews. Their answers were analyzed, and it was found that they average level 3 (multistructural) of the taxonomy: the students know the basis definition from an algorithmic or methodological perspective, and they can reproduce some procedures, but they are unable to understand the basis concept.

Among the various factors that affect the energy produced a detailed numerical simulation of a ground heat exchanger assuming the mathematical formulacion of the governing ecuations (continuity, momentum and energy) and the energy balance in the wall has been carried out. This formulation requires the use of termo-physical properties, material properties and the ground; in this case, the experimental temperature profile in the ground were measured at Universidad Veracruzana, Coatzacoalcos campus (latitude 18°08’39” N, longitude west 94°28'36” and altitude 10 msnm).

Information and communication technologies have led to the development of new learning modalities and techniques. This research is based on the design of a remedial course for the subject of Differential Calculus and its corresponding method of evaluation in a virtual learning environment, which allows the student practical and autonomous learning. Its elaboration consists of two parts: the instructional design associated with the learning topics identified as necessary for the learning of the Differential Calculus and the evaluation method for the achievement of the learnings. This course is expected to assist the student in the possible learning lags of the Differential Calculus to successfully complete the Integral Calculus learning unit.

In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in Data Science and Machine Learning in different topics like financial and health, this have led to start using these methods on engineer applications. This paper is focus on identify the equivalent unbalance on Squeeze Film Damper – SFD bearing using a recent machine learning technique “Sparse Identification of Nonlinear Dynamics – SINDy”. Four different cases will be examined from Bonello’s work, all of which we introduce 4 different conditions of noise to the acceleration of the system. The data for this work was obtained via a simulation of the SFD system reported on Bonello’s thesis. From the simulation only the last 20 cycles were used to feed the SINDy. This study uses a combinatorial polynomial search space over preselected functions with the purpose to identify the equivalent imbalances. Both hyperparameters: the degree of the combinatory k and the threshold value λ remaining static during all the study. There was no error between the original equations and the identified system.

In today's market economies, organizations see knowledge as one of their most valuable and strategic resources and seek to properly manage it so that it becomes a competitive advantage (Teece, 1988; Hamel and Prahalad, 1990, Drucker, 1994; Nonaka and Takeuchi, 1995; Boisot, 1998; Spender, 1996; Senge, 1990). Although many organizations make significant investments in technology and tools to promote knowledge sharing, cultural, behavioral, and structural aspects are the main determinants of success (Sharma and Bhattacharya, 2013). Organizational knowledge processes are, by their nature, generally social and complex. The behaviors related to sharing knowledge of organizational agents are full of situations of conflict of interest or dilemmas in which they receive different payments based on their strategic decisions. Such situations can be modeled as games. This article presents the approach to a particular dilemma, that of the knowledge friction in an Institution of Higher Education through Game Theory, describing a non-cooperative game model that allows showing the scope of said situation according to the decisions considered to be done by employees and employer and their related payments, exploring different decision-making scenarios.

In Latin America, labor market indicators still show large gender gaps in access to opportunities and rights. These inequalities persist despite various policy efforts because they emanate from a social system that reproduces stereotypes and gender roles. This contradicts the development vision of the United Nations and the ILO: “Without gender equality, sustainable development is neither development nor sustainable”. This contribution focuses on the impact of social norms on women's decisions, regarding career choice and labor participation. To this end, we have built and simulated an agent-based model. The model assumes that gender roles are acquired and reproduced through the environment that surrounds women. The results of this social simulation suggest that the environment greatly influences the perception of women about the roles they must assume and the areas in which they must play, so it is pertinent to design policies aiming to change the conceptions of identity and traditional gender roles, since the construction and adoption of new and more equitable values is in part acquired through the imitation of the behavior observed in a woman's environment.
