Motives: The article examines various approaches to improving the assessment of agricultural land in Azerbaijan. The quality, potential productivity, and normative price (value in monetary terms) of farmland need to be determined to increase production and competitiveness of agricultural products, to establish favourable land relations that meet modern requirements, and to promote efficient land use. The existing methods of assessing the quality and economic value of farmland for the needs of the land cadastre and determining the normative prices of land do not fully correspond to reality. Different and often contradictory approaches to land assessment have been proposed.Aim: The aim of this study was to optimize the methods of assessing the quality and economic value of agricultural land, determining the normative prices of land, and evaluating potential land productivity in view of modern requirements. Results: Improvements in land valuation will promote reliable assessments of agricultural development and the establishment of efficient farming systems; they will improve agricultural land-use efficiency and reliable determination of normative prices in market transactions involving agricultural property. These methods can be widely used to plan agricultural production, evaluate the operations of various types of farms, improve remuneration policies in the farming sector, determine the optimal scope of farming operations in view of natural conditions and economic factors, and resolve other issues to promote the development of agricultural production.

Motives: The main manifestation of suburbanisation, which is crucial process shaping settlement system in Poland, are suburbs, whose spatial expansion and qualitative characteristics lead to the formation of new functional and spatial structures between the central city and its surroundings. In this sense, the process of suburbanisation is closely related to metropolisation, i.e. the growing importance in the economy of large urban regions or, more broadly, urbanised systems.Aim: The purpose of this study is to trace the spatial policy of the communes making up the Bydgoszcz–Toruń Metropolitan Area (BTMA) concerning entries in their strategic and planning documents indicating the degree of metropolitan links. Results: It was shown that these records would determine further actions affecting the advancement of the metropolisation process in urban region of Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship. Against the strategic and planning documents background, the vision for the creation of the Bydgoszcz–Toruń Metropolitan Area, present in the narrative of the two major cities, is quite different. It seems it will complicate the metropolisation process in the region.

Motives: Since the main sources of some rivers are located in neighbouring countries, hydrological issues in the eastern part of Iran are critical. The water dispute between Iran and the neighbouring Afghanistan is related to environmental issues and human health.Aim: The aim of this study was to demonstrate how transboundary water conflicts increase human vulnerability through economic issues such as reduced productivity in the agricultural sector. Results: The study’s originality lies in the application of the positive mathematical programming approach to the agricultural sector, specifically in evaluating the impact of water pricing policies on crop selection and irrigation water use. A quadratic cost function was calibrated to develop three scenarios of water resources consumption (30%, 40%, and 70% reduction for farmers in group 1, and 10%, 25%, and 75% reduction for farmers in group 2) and price increase (70%, 80%, and 100% increase). The calibration of the quadratic cost function revealed an increase in irrigation efficiency (water resources consumption) as well as an increase in the region’s irrigated area.

Urban adaptation to climate change is necessary. However, this process occurs mainly in big cities. In less populated areas, climate change adaptation actions are conducted and investigated less frequently. The goal of the study was to examine whether and what type of climate adaptation actions are planned in small and medium-size towns and whether town size is related to the advancement of adaptation planning. The research was carried out in 5 differently sized towns in southern Wielkopolska Region: Żerków, Koźmin Wielkopolski, Pleszew, Jarocin, and Ostrów Wielkopolski. The analysed materials were the minutes of town council sessions in 2017–2021 and the resolutions adopted by town councils. The resolutions were analysed in terms of reference to pro-climate actions. It was found that climate-related topics were addressed by 4-6% of the resolutions adopted by town councils. In most cases, the planned actions were related to the following sectors: transport, power engineering, and water management. The study found a link between town size and the number of documents addressing pro-climate actions.

Motives: The research problem addressed in the paper is the identification of sources of the spatial differentiation of housing satisfaction under the influence of external factors (economic, demographic and social).Aim: The main research objective was to identify the determinants and spatial differentiation of housing satisfaction in Poland. Both classical panel models and spatial panel models were used for the analyses. Results: The results of the study confirmed the hypothesis that the inclusion of spatial dependencies significantly improved the quality of the panel model. The developed models supported the determination of statistical relationships between economic, demographic and social factors, the number of dwellings per 1000 inhabitants, and the average floor space per person. In addition, the spatial distribution of individual effects in spatial panel models revealed variation in housing satisfaction that resulted from different levels of socio-economic development.

Motives: Incapacitation is presented in the literature as an important legal device for protecting the rights of the persons concerned. At the same time, in some cases (such as legal transactions with foreign countries), the legal consequences of incapacitation seem to be disproportionate to the protected interests. This overview aims to present a short case study that highlights the differences in the interests, possible views and demands of the parties in transactions involving real estate owned by incapacitated persons. Aim: To initiate a debate on the degree of necessary legal protection in transactions involving real estate owned by incapacitated persons, and to analyze in a discursive manner the jurisdictional, procedural, and socioeconomic dimensions of a single problem in a short case study. Results: Depending on the context, incapacitation can be both a form of protection and a difficulty in particular civil cases involving parties with limitations or residing in different jurisdictions.

Motives: Businesses rely on the Internet to facilitate marketing communication, attract customers, and build customer loyalty. The Internet can be used not only as an additional channel for distributing information about the company, but also as a means of interactive communication for commercial purposes or promotional activities. This is of great importance for service providers, including tourism sector businesses such as marinas.Aim: The aim of this study was to examine the content of websites owned by Baltic yacht marinas in the Polish voivodeships of West Pomerania and Pomerania. Marina websites were analysed based on their usefulness for potential tourists in 2018, 2020, and 2022, using the adopted criteria, and data for each year were compared to examine changes over time. The applied research methods included theoretical and analytical observations, website analysis, and a point ranking scale. A comparative analysis of the obtained results was performed. This is the first study to examine the extent to which marinas rely on social media for marketing and advertising purposes. Results: The results of the conducted analyses provided answers to the formulated research questions. Few marinas use websites as a tool for communicating with potential customers, but their owners are beginning to recognize the potential of the Internet in this regard.
