An IoT-based Smart Garden with Weather Station System 基于物联网的智能花园气象站系统

Internet of Things (IoT) consists of devices that connect to the internet and communicate with each other. It enables these devices to collect and exchange data with a consumer. This paper presents an IoT-based Smart Garden with Weather Station system, which can be used to monitor the growth of plant every day and predict the probability for raining. Why this IoT-based device is been created? Many people are interested in growing the plants are always forget on watering the plants. Hence, in this study, the device is equipped with a water pump, where it can be monitored and controlled by using a smartphone. In addition, the devices also consist of four main sensors, which are Barometric Pressure, DHT11 Temperature, and Humidity Sensor, Soil Moisture Sensor and Light intensity module sensor. The Soil and Light Intensity sensor used to measure the value by percentages. Besides, two actuators, which are the water pump and LED light can be used remotely or by using a button on the devices. The LED is purposely to replicate the sunlight and make the plant grow faster. This IoT-based Smart Garden with Weather Station System can record the data and send the result to user through the smartphone application named as Blynk apps. This research is beneficial, and the system can be easily managed by all users such as researcher or farmer, and children.

Analysis of Gender Related Foot Morphology in Iraqi Adults Using Videogrammetry During Gait 用录像测量法分析伊拉克成年人步态中与性别相关的足部形态

Foot morphology is fundamental for both footwear design and forensic investigations. The aim of the study was to analyze gender with regard to differences in foot morphology during gait. 14-Iraqi adults (7 females and 7 males) were recruited. Eleven reference points on the right foot and twelve anthropometric foot dimensions were measured and captured using 7-smartphone camera videos and videogrammetry. They were used to measure the 3-dimensional coordinates of points on a foot that are captured by measurements made in seven video images taken from various angles. The mean differences of the length of the medial ball, foot breadth, instep breadth, malleolus breadth and medial malleolus height between females and males are 4.710, 2.682, 2.402, 2.011, 0.135 respectively, indicating that the males have greater foot breadth, instep breadth, malleolus breadth, length of medial ball and medial malleolus height than the females. This study may add knowledge about the characteristics of Iraqi feet, which may be useful in the fields of shoe manufacturing, medical issues and investigation of crimes.

Development of Single-Phase Active Power Filter Using Current Source Inverter (CSI) 基于电流源逆变器的单相有源电力滤波器的研制

This paper presents the development of an Active Power Filter (APF) using Current Source Inverter (CSI). The function of the APF is to fix the pulsating nature of a distorted AC supply current waveform produced by a nonlinear load. The APF utilises 4 IGBT switches controlled by an Active Pulse Width Modulation (APWM) signal generated by a current control loop. The closed-loop controller is built up using a subtractor circuit, Proportional-Integral (PI) controller and comparator circuit; to compensate the distorted AC supply current to be continuous, sinusoidal and in phase with a supply voltage waveform. The application of the APF may reduce the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) level of the AC supply current, thus, it increases the power factor and quality of a power supply system. The THD value obtained is compared with the IEEE 519 standard; to validate that the THD value follows the regulation. All simulation results illustrate that, by implementing the proposed APF, harmonic components of the AC supply current decreases to the acceptable limit introduced by the IEEE 519 standard. Simulation results are accomplished using MATLAB/Simulink.

Information Governance derivatives of Social Solidarity Economy Initiatives 社会团结经济倡议的信息治理衍生品

Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) initiative which has been implemented in Malaysia and shows it success when four case study reported SSE communities or organization displayed efforts in helping the public on exiting economic crisis (Tan, 2016). However, the information misgovernance destroys the SSE business value, slow down organization and creates unnecessary risk (Blair, 2011) to the SSE communities when the government and state neglected SSE successful initiatives in combating economic crisis of the public, yet not having them as a solution to the economic downturn. Therefore, the study aims to identify factors of why integration of information governance and SSE develop better economic initiatives. Information Governance for SSE Framework were tested to two focus group using empirical study. The framework was simulated on the focus group to analyze its significant impact. The results of the study important to the application of IG towards SSE since it decreases opportunity of business operation mistakes and dark data.

The Essential of Sentiment Analysis and Opinion Mining in Social Media : Introduction and Survey of the Recent Approaches and Techniques 社交媒体中情感分析和意见挖掘的本质:最新方法和技术的介绍与综述

With evolution of social network and Web 2.0, people not only consume content by downloading on web but also contribute and produce new contents. People became more eager to express and share their opinions on web regarding daily activities as well as local or global issues. Due to the proliferation of social media for instance Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and others, sentiment analysis and opinion mining grow rapidly. It branches out from the field of natural language processing and data mining particularly from web mining and text mining. Why sentiment analysis and also known as opinion mining is prevalent and relevant nowadays? When we try to decide to purchase a product, we are likely to get the opinions from friends or relatives and do some surveys before we purchase the product. Hence, opinions are undeniably the key influencer of our behavior as well as the central to nearly all of the activities. Within the opinions, we often find the neutral, positive and negative polarities in the sentences. Based on the sentiment analysis taxonomy, it has opinion mining to have the opinion polarity classification, subjectivity detection, opinion spam detection, opinion summarization and argument expression detection. On the other hand, emotion mining has the emotion polarity classification, emotion detection, emotion cause detection and emotion classification. If it is based on granularity level, it has sentence level, document level and aspect/entity level of sentiment analysis. As for the machine learning approaches, it has semi-supervised learning, unsupervised learning and supervised learning of sentiment analysis.

Assessing Content Validity of Enterprise Architecture Adoption Questionnaire (EAAQ) Among Content Experts 在内容专家中评估企业架构采用问卷(EAAQ)的内容有效性

Content validity is the process to validate the measurement items from the perspective of experts. Notably, there are lack of validated items measuring the perception of intention to adopt Enterprise Architecture (EA) in the public sector organisations. This study intended to develop and assess the content validity of measurement items for EAAQ as a survey instrument to public sector organisations. Twelve academic and industrial content experts have assessed the validity of 14 identified constructs and 52 measurement items. This study was conducted through two cycles of content validation process. The written EAAQ was distributed via email or by a meeting session with the content experts for assessing the measurement items. The analysis of content experts’ consensus was examined using a quantitative approach called Content Validity Ratio (CVR) and Content Validity Index (CVI). Of the 52 items, 50 were accepted, as the CVR’s critical value that must be abided by 0.75 (N = 8) and two items were rejected. Then, the accepted items were computed to a final form using CVI. The acceptable CVI value for the final EAAQ is 0.94. Therefore, a new 50-item EAAQ was developed based on validated content and face values by the experts for public sector organisations. In future, the measurement items should be reassessed on its psychometric properties for the EAAQ reliability and internal consistency. This instrument would be useful for measuring the perception of EA adoption in organisations.

The written EAAQ was distributed via email or by a meeting session with the content experts for assessing the measurement items. The analysis of content experts’ consensus was examined using a quantitative approach called Content Validity Ratio (CVR) and Content Validity Index (CVI). Of the 52 items, 50 were accepted, as the CVR’s critical value that must be abided by 0.75 (N = 8) and two items were rejected. Then, the accepted items were computed to a final form using CVI. The acceptable CVI value for the final EAAQ is 0.94. Therefore, a new 50-item EAAQ was developed based on validated content and face values by the experts for public sector organisations. In future, the measurement items should be reassessed on its psychometric properties for the EAAQ reliability and internal consistency. Performance Comparison Using Thresholding Based Method for Diabetic Retinopathy 基于阈值法的糖尿病视网膜病变诊断效果比较

Patients with diabetes need annual screening to circumvent vision loss which may lead to blindness. Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) is a diabetic complication that causes structural changes in the retina. Non proliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR) is a common, usually mild form of retinopathy that generally does not interfere with vision. However, the diabetic retinopathy can progress from non-proliferative to proliferative retinopathy (PDR) if left untreated. To prevent this situation, the automatic computer system is introduced to identify the early stages of DR. There are a lot of studies and research of DR but yet to achieve the accurate result. In order to achieve the target, numerous image segmentation methods were used for comparison performance. In this paper, three datasets namely of DRIVE, E-Optha and Messidor were used as input images. There are three methods from thresholding-based category were used in order to identify the microaneurysms (MAs) and the blood vessel. For DRIVE database, Otsu obtained an accuracy of 92.09%, 93.38% in sensitivity followed by specificity of 64.82%. While Entropy method obtained an accuracy of 92.03%, 94.65% in term of sensitivity followed by 62.38% in specificity. For Fuzzy C Mean (FCM) the accuracy was 92.42%, 94.46% in term of sensitivity and 63.09% in specificity.

A Review of Methods To Measure Affective Domain in Learning 学习情感域测量方法综述

Learning is part of education. The involvement of affective domain in education is very important for holistic learning. Affective domain is part of Bloom’s Taxonomy that consists of five major stages which are attending, receiving, valuing, organization and characterization. Every stage has its own action verb and its own meaning. The study of affective domain has been tackled for over a decade but not much focus on assessing it by level. Affective is very vague and uncertainties as it is more towards attitude, emotion and behavior. Affective is very hard to be predict, challenging and can change rapidly. This study compares several techniques that are possible for assessing affective domain. From the studies, the most used technique to measure affective is fuzzy logic. Fuzzy logic is the technique that able to measure uncertainties and vague values.

Experimental Study on Multiple Face Detection with Depth and Skin Color 基于深度和肤色的多人脸检测实验研究

Human face considers as an important biometric trait for person identification or video surveillance due to the digital camera technology that available on our daily life gadget. Since the digital signage easily found in the public and uncontrolled environment, the common situation could be single or multiple audiences that viewing at the digital signage display. The digital camera acts as a non-invasive detector for non-obtrusive digital advertising to collect the surrounding people’s face. The accuracy rate of face detection becomes the priority to detect the audience’s face. Besides that, the processing time also become a concern for time-constrained applications. This paper develops a framework for non-obtrusive digital advertising that applied the depth camera to detect multiple audiences for the audience location simulation and gather the depth information restrict the region of interests (ROI). Viola-Jones algorithm detects the audience frontal face who is facing towards the digital signage in the ROI. Subsequently, skin color analysis verifies the skin face and exclude the non-skin face to improve the face detection true detection rate. The depth information is combined with the face XY-position to map the audience actual location in the real-world environment on the aerial map. The experiment result shown that post-processing approach for Viola-Jones algorithm with skin color analysis increases the face true detection rate with the short processing time. Meanwhile, the simulation of multiple audience locations in the ROI can be shown on the aerial map which corresponds to the actual location in the real-world environment.
