Energy efficiency in energy harvesting cooperative networks with self-energy recycling 具有自能量回收的能量收集合作网络的能源效率

Cooperative communication has been identified as an important component in the 5G system. This paper considers a decode-and-forward (DF) relaying wireless cooperative network, in which the self-energy recycling relay is powered by radio-frequency (RF) signal from the source and its transmitted power from the loop-back channel. The harvested energy is used to support the relay transmissions. Based on a self-energy recycling relaying protocol, we study the optimization of energy efficiency in wireless cooperative networks. Although the formulated optimization problem is not convex, it can be re-constructed to a parametric problem in the convex form by using the non-linear fractional programming, to which closed form solutions can be found by using the Lagrange multiplier method. The simulation results are presented to verify the effectiveness of this solution proposed in this paper.

Impact of inaccurate user and base station positioning on autonomous coverage estimation 用户和基站定位不准确对自主覆盖估计的影响

Autonomous monitoring of key performance indicators, which are obtained from measurement reports, is well established as a necessity for enabling self-organising networks. However, this reports are usually tagged with geographical location information which are obtained from positioning techniques and are therefore prone to errors. In this paper, we investigate the impact position estimation errors on the cell coverage probability that can be estimated from autonomous coverage estimation (ACE). We derive novel and accurate expressions of the actual cell coverage probability of such scheme while considering: errors in user equipment (UE) location and; errors in both UE and base station location. We present generic expressions for channel modelled with path-loss and shadowing, and much simplified expressions for the path-loss dominant channel model. Our results reveal that the ACE scheme will be suboptimal as long as there are errors in the reported geographical location information. Hence, appropriate coverage margins must be considered when utilising ACE.

Improvement and application of LEACH Protocol based on Genetic Algorithm for WSN 基于遗传算法的LEACH协议在WSN中的改进与应用

Based on LEACH Protocol, an improved LEACH Protocol (LEACH-H) is proposed based on Genetic Algorithm (GA) in this paper. The weight values of the three influencing factors--the current residual energy of nodes, the number of the neighbor nodes and the distance between nodes and base station are used as its optimization variable. The maximum lifetime of the first and half of the nodes is used as the optimization objective. Finally, the LEACH protocol before and after improvement are applied to the prefabricated substation. The sensor nodes are used to collect equipment operating parameters and substation environmental parameters. LEACH-H and LEACH protocol are used separately for data transmitting. The simulation results show that the lifetime of the first and half of the nodes of LEACH-H protocol is longer than the original LEACH protocol, and the performance of the network is improved.

Bayesian game analysis of a queueing system with multiple candidate servers 具有多个候选服务器的排队系统的贝叶斯博弈分析

We combine queueing theory and game theory to evaluate the performance of a queueing system with multiple strategic candidate servers. The intent is to model a transmission system where packets can be sent via multiple options, each incurring a cost and controlled by a distributed management. Our purpose is to analyze the effects of the presence or the lack of both cooperation and communication between servers. The mathematical characterization of the uncertainty about the characteristics of the transmission alternatives available is captured through a Bayesian game formulation. In this setup, we compute both the Price of Anarchy, quantifying the inherent inefficiency arising from selfish management of each server, and the Price of Stability, which is the loss due to distributed system management, under different conditions of signaling exchange among the servers.

Performance analysis of Cellular-WLAN Heterogeneous Network based on Continuous Time Markov Chain 基于连续时间马尔可夫链的蜂窝- wlan异构网络性能分析

This paper proposes an analytical model for performance evaluation of Cellular-WLAN Heterogeneous Networks (HetNets) based on Continuous Time Markov Chain (CTMC) for variable-bit-rate (VBR) data services. This model considers system specific overheads and limitations such as limited number of supported modulation and coding scheme (MCS) of each network. Moreover, this model includes the traffic density variation between hot-spot (where the WLAN access point are usually deployed) and non-hot-spot areas. The proposed analytical model is used to evaluate the system performance of two mainstream network association schemes; namely, WLAN-first and Load Balancing, in terms of total system throughput. In addition, the proposed analytical model is thoroughly validated against extensive system level simulation results obtained from the Network Simulator 3 (NS3) platform.

Integrated vectorcardiogram (iVCG) rotation modeling and compensation 集成矢量心电图(iVCG)旋转建模和补偿

We are designing an integrated wireless Vectorcardiogram (iVCG) that is portable and worn on the chest of the patient and is capable of continuously recording and transmitting the heart vector, which is a comprehensive measure of the electrical activity of the heart. The VCG contains the same information as the classic electrocardiogram (ECG). Although a physician or trained technician will initially install the iVCG device in the appropriate position, it is prone to subsequent rotation errors introduced by the patient placement of the device. In this paper we characterize the rotation errors and present a software solution to correct the effect of the rotation error on the iVCG signals.

Reliable communication between rescuers during interventions using textile antenna systems 使用纺织天线系统进行干预期间救援人员之间的可靠通信

The safety of on-duty firefighters in indoor environments could be increased by ensuring reliable, high-data rate communication in potentially life-threatening situations. This increases their situational awareness, strengthens their decision making and decreases response time by ensuring efficient indoor communication of sensor data, biometric data, pictures or videos. Therefore, a real-life rescue operation was replicated by means of two simultaneously moving firefighters in an office environment. These wideband channel sounder measurements were performed at 3.6 GHz with 80 MHz bandwidth. Four Ultra-Wideband Substrate Integrated Waveguide cavity-backed slot textile antennas were integrated in the front, back, left shoulder and right shoulder sections of the firefighters' jackets, providing up to 4×4 MIMO communication. For this indoor environment, we extract the pertinent OFDM parameters using the RMS delay spread and 50% correlation bandwidth of the sixteen individual SISO channels. Furthermore, we calculate the potential SISO-, 2×2 MIMO- and 4×4 MIMO-OFDM capacities and corresponding data rates. Finally, we show that the 4×4 MIMO setup is more energy efficient and increases both the link reliability and link quality.

Full-duplex transmission in small area radio communication systems 小区域无线电通信系统中的全双工传输

Full-duplex transmission is an attractive air interface technology to improve spectral efficiency in future wireless systems. This paper introduces potential use cases for full-duplex transmission in small area radio communication systems, and evaluates the achievable performance gains of full-duplex transmission over half-duplex transmission in different network set-ups. Additionally, this paper introduces DUPLO full-duplex transceiver hardware demonstrator and characterizes with practical measurements the achievable performance in short-range communications.

Challenges and possibilities for flexible duplexing in 5G networks 5G网络中灵活双工的挑战和可能性

This paper discusses the role of flexible duplexing in the research and development of 5G wireless networks. Legacy large coverage area networks have been designed for static and symmetric radio resources utilization where the uplink and downlink have most often been separated in frequency domain. More recently, the trend has been toward small cells deployment where time division duplex (TDD) has increased its popularity. TDD has also the advantage that it supports asymmetric radio resource division between up- and downlink either in fixed or dynamic manner. Another booster in duplexing techniques is in-band full-duplex (FD) transmission and reception. It has been around for a long time but only recently the implementation technology has progressed enough to make it a viable option for wireless bi-directional links. Key properties, advantages, disadvantages and design challenges related to alternative duplex techniques and their hybrids are discussed in the light of 5G emergence.

Reduction of core network signalling overhead in cluster based LTE small cell networks 基于集群的LTE小蜂窝网络中核心网信令开销的降低

Small cell network strategies are applied for providing enhanced coverage and maximizing system capacity in the network. In such an environment, substantial growth of signalling load on the Core Network (CN) can be caused by reduced cell size, increased user density and increased user velocity. In this paper, in order to reduce the signalling load incurred by path switching operations in the small cell network, a new mobility control function, termed the Small Cell Controller (SCC) is introduced to the existing Base Station (BS) on the Radio-Access-Network(RAN)-side. Within a cluster, a designated SCC controls and manages a group of small cells and maintains associated forwarding information for UEs within a localized mobility management domain. When compared to the legacy scheme in the 3GPP, our simulation results show that the proposed RAN-side SCC is able to achieve the signalling reduction gain by up to 58.1% on the CN.
